Restaurant week menu. Great value, delicious Mexican cuisine.
A lot of good choices on the menu to try. Beautiful restaurant in a neat part of downtown Harrisburg. Service was great. Food a bit overpriced.
Birthday for my mom.
My wife loves it. They keep making a dish she likes even though it’s not on the menu anymore.
Wonderful food! Good prices for the quality. A little more upscale than the typical run of the mill Spanish restaurant. The staff was on point! I would highly recommend for anyone who is wanting so.e really great authentic Spanish food!
I’ve been going to El Sol for a long time. A big fan of the margaritas but I’m really disappointed that the guacamole has gotten so pricey and there’s a dollop served on a large plate. There used to be a reasonable serving and it’s gotten really small.
Other than that, the food is good. Not spectacular but good.
We had a horrible server, I had to get up twice and ask for something, that’s how bad.
This is a neighborhood gem! The food is always fresh and tasty.
Amazing food. Friendly and helpful waiter. Excellent drink list.
I can’t wait to go back!!!
It was extremely loud with over 15 kids and multiple families. These families were way too loud!!!
Nice staff, great food
Whenever I travel to Harrisburg, I plan to have dinner at El Sol. It serves up traditional and creative Mexican cuisine. The prices are reasonable, meals are served up quickly, and the portions are ample. I enjoyed the Parrilla Salad with Chicken. The vegetables were perfectly grilled. If you like spiciness, check out house made hot sauce. I bought a bottle to take home.
I ordered my food spicy and it was not prepared that way. Reservations were at 6:00 and it took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order or even recognize we were there. The restaurant was not busy when we got there and the wait staff was wondering around like they just got some bad news. Not sure what was happening but both my husband and I were very disappointed in the food and our service. Have dined there often and I always get the same meal. Something was off on Friday evening. Food!!!!! Homemade, fresh, authentic, timely, quac, salsa, ceviche, tenderized and marinated steaks, ample grilled shrimp.... awesome margaritas!
This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is simply amazing. I would definitely recommend starting with the chips, guacamole and salsa. It’s some of the best I’ve ever had, everything is fresh. The restaurant is very clean and well decorated. This is a great place to take a date or to just hang out with friends.
wonderful food...loved the salsa verde and of course the carnitas. Top shelf margarita was ridiculously good. Great food, great atmosphere.
The food was amazing and well priced for the quantity and quality. We have been here a couple times and they are consistent with their quality which is an indicator of a great restaurant. The service was as good as food; polite, considerate and experienced. We will continue to return!
Best Mexican in central PA - in addition to delicious entrees they have THE BEST salsa and chunky guacamole!
Hostess wasn’t overly friendly. We were early for our reservation, but she acted like we didn’t have one. I feel our table could’ve been in better location. Waiter was efficient and friendly. Food was great.
Steve was great! Food outstanding as always!
Our waiter was courteous, prompt and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious but also healthy, which is more often not the case in restaurants. Although the restaurant was quite noisy, in part because every table was occupied, it is very nicely decorated and our party had a most enjoyable evening. W were not rushed at all, which was an added bonus, and will certainly return.
El Sol consistently delivers a very good meal. The salsa, guacamole and chips are always fresh. Staff are always friendly and attentive and do an excellent job in assuring that you are satisfied.
Food was excellent, but the server was rude, arrogant and demanding. It is a shame, because we always enjoy our dinners and we were celebrating a special occasion. Server Gabriella was very inappropriate!
Great food, excellent service, and nice atmosphere. This restaurant is absolutely wonderful. The prices are reasonable, also.
Excellent food, staff and atmosphere!
This was a wonderful place to have brunch. Service was attentive and the food was excellent! Only downside was not much in the way of handicapped accessible parking.
El Sol lived up to our expectations and went beyond with excellent service. We will definitely have it in our list to revisit.
Restaurant has great Mexican and Spanish dishes. Really enjoyed our meal and Margaritas were great
The food was a clean-healthy approach to Mexican food. I ate the stuff bell peppers and it was a decent entree. Did not expect the carrots and peas to be in it as well (which I must of not read). My entree wasn't exciting but it got me through and I felt good after. It was real noisy during lunch time, but it is a very nice establishment.
My daughter recommended your restaurant as she as been there before. It was her birthday, so we went with her wishes. We were all very happy with the food and especially, the service.
Great food, atmosphere, and service. I have two children with autism and our waitress was awesome with them.
This will not be the last visit the next time we visit Harrisburg. The food was plentiful, colorful and delicious. The ambiance just made it all the more wonderful.
We have been to El Sol before and have always have good service and excellent food. We recently took a friend from out of town the restaurant after we raved about how good the food was. We were all sorely disappointed.
Our appetizers, guac and ceviche, were the first disappointment. The guacamole was brownish/green! Definitely an indication that it was not fresh. We've had the ceviche before and this was definitely not the same. The dish was also garnished with brown avocadoes.
For our entrees, they were dried out like they sat under the warmer too long. Parts of the accompanying rice was dried and crispy.
Our server was very personable but very slow. I believe that our entrees were sitting for a long time before they got to our table. There's no excuse for that. The restaurant was not very busy at all.
Not sure if it was an off night, the cook is new or what. We'll think twice about going back.
Great food and service.
Had fajitas, quacamole and molecajeta. It was all delicious and we had plenty to take home. My friend had not been to El Sol previously but loved the food and environment.
Awesome margaritas and gourmet Mexican cuisine. Love that you can get margaritas by the pitcher to share.
I had to pay $15.00 for parking at local garage! Outlandish!
The food was great! Highly recommend the specialty guacamole!!
Wait took a while to order meal.
Food was delicious
This was the first Mexican restaurant I’ve been to that doesn’t offer free chips and salsa. I was a little disappointed I that
Best meal I've had at a restaurant in quite some time! We shared the queso fundido as an appetizer then followed up with camarones al sol and carnitas w/pinapple (a special offering on the menu). The appetizer and both meals were beyond our expectations! We also had the raspberry and lime sangria which was refreshing and not sweet like a lot of other sangrias. Unfortunately, we didn't have room for dessert but I imagine it would've been great also. In addition, our waitress was very helpful in providing gluten free options and when she wasn't sure about something she immediately asked the chef. The corn tortillas were better than any others I had so I asked about them. The chef sent out an empty bag of them so I could take a picture of the packaging and brand name. We are already looking forward to our next trip to El Sol!!
