We have been coming here for years but haven’t had the chance in the past few months. We came tonight and it has gone down hill so much. They took dishes off the menu we loved and our waiter was awful. I also found a long black hair in my dinner gross.
Food is always fresh and of good quality. Servers are very attentive. Patio setting is wonderful.
After years of loving this place, we were highly disappointed with this visit. The menu had completely changed and our favorite had been removed (Bife de Chorizo). Additionally, this night, there was an unusual number of flies in the restaurant. I don't mean unusual for THIS restaurant. I mean unusual for ANY restaurant. Swishing them away, along with the other patrons, was not an optimal dining experience. I asked for my skirt steak without mushrooms and it was brought with more mushrooms than you could imagine. Our waitress was kind, considerate and professional. She did her best. We ate fast, and left fast. Not how I want to remember this place. We really use to love it--driving all the way from Burlington each time. Perhaps they had a bad night.
Well we want d to try a new resturant but unfortunately it turned out w a bad experience. We wanted 10 mins to be approached by the hostess which never came over to us. A waitress sate us. We arrived at 7:30 wasn’t served til 8:45 ish and my wives steak was under cooked so we sent it back. Plus it want that busy. The waitress was not very friendly and seems she didn’t care to be helpful. So probably won’t go back or refer it to anyone.
My wife and went here for dinner on Saturday night. We experienced poor service on just about every level...we never were told the specials. After the server took our order, we didn't see them again until our entrees arrived. We had to wave down a busser in order to get some bread. The appetizers we ordered never materialized. I had to grab a fork from another table because I didn't have one and had use a butter knife to cut my lamb chops. For $31 for the dish, I would have expected the portion to include more than two chops. Also, could they have spared maybe a spoonful of mixed veggies on the plate? It was just two chops and some mashed potatoes. I ordered the chops medium, and they came out well done. My wife's chicken dish wasn't that bad though. I left the restaurant unsatisfied, ticked-off and hungry. On top of all that, the next morning I woke to read an email from Open Table indicating I was a "no-show" for the reservation; apparently the restaurant never entered-in our arrival....if only that were the case and it was just a bad dream. See you again never El Sitio. Which is a shame because I live in town and this is one place you can always get a table...now I know the reason is because of terrible service.
Absolutely phenomenal! My husband and 8 tried to think of something that we would change about our meal, but each item was just delicious perfection. We started with the tropical ceviche, and he ordered the traditional Peruvian Lomo Saltado. I ordered the Peruvian Picante. We ended up sharing everything because both were so yummy. We finished with a slice of the homemade tres leche cake, which was definitely worth saving room for.
Word of advice: order the Ecuadorian tea. Let it steep for about 10 minutes. When you finish it( which you will because the fruit makes it so sweet) ask for some more hot water and enjoy another pot.
the food was great. The service was painfully slow. Could not find anyone over the age of 20 to complain to.
This was our third visit - will not be coming back because of the poor service.
We enjoyed the mussels and stuffed shrimp with crab meat along with desserts. Wonderful place for dinner with friends or date night. Would however recommend keeping air conditioning below 78 during the summer as the restaurant was stuffy inside and did not make eating enjoyable. Outside dining is available and would be enjoyable during spring and early fall
We went on a quiet Thursday evening; so there weren't many other diners in the restaurant. It's BYOB. We had a couple of their chicken dishes (Ecuadorian and Peruvian) as the seafood items didn't come sound like anything we couldn't get at a variety of other restaurants. The service was fast and friendly. We enjoyed our seat by the window and watched the people passing by. We passed on dessert because, like the seafood, they didn't seem particular to the Argentinian, Peruvian, Ecuadorian theme...perhaps with the exception of the Tres Leche. Overall, a good meal, romantic setting, and worth dropping in if you're in the neighborhood.
First time at this restaurant. We enjoyed the food. The only complaints are the water being horribly nasty, the sprite not tasting like sprite and the waiter continuously said “YUP” as we asked questions about the menu... otherwise overall good experience will go again and try other items on the menu...
I actually love the lunch menu better than the dinner menu, although the dinner menu is very good and has different flavors than other restaurants don't have. At lunch the guacamole burger is a perfect burger!
Dining outdoors is lovely!
Great food, reasonable pricing and good portions. Quick polite service.
Enjoyed my meal and the ambience of the place! Definitely recommend to anyone with a great taste pallet.
Everything was wonderful!
Dessert was delicious!!!!
Excellent service though not packed on a Tues evening. Tried a price fix special for Restaurant week. LOVED the peruvian chicken stew and my daughter loved the salmon entree on the main menu. Overall very good quality food, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere with nice outdoor seating on side street. Would absolutely go back again!
Food was fantastic. Everybody loved their food. It is a bit pricey and i wish the portions were a little bigger, but it tasted awesome.
We eat here frequently. Tonight was ok. Our server Zack was new but very attentive. He will be an asset to the restaurant. Dessert was disappointing.
Our server was rather flighty. She never mentioned daily specials and we only learned of them when hearing another server address other customers. She may have been new.
Great food (the sauce on the strip steak was amazing).
Service was up and down, but passable.
Noice level was very high, difficult to have cross table conversation.
Would definitely go again.
Made a last minute reservation on a Friday night. Food was delicious: started with a seafood sampler of tropical ceviche, Peruvian ceviche, and grilled octopus that was delicious. Ordered the skirt steak special, which was cooked perfectly, but had to ask for a side of chimichurri for an extra kick of flavor. The stuffed salmon was delicious, but my husband did not care for the quinoa side. The Tres Leches dessert was awesome, as always. Our server was very new and had difficulty explaining items on the menu. We had to ask about the specials for the night. Overall, we consider this a favorite place and would not hesitate to come back.
Delicious food and great service every time. This place never disappoints.
As usual the food was superb. From soup to dessert an Aplus. I usually get lamb chops ( superior ). But today we went all Ecuadorian. You must try empanadas. Wait staff is terrific. Only negative this visit was air was not on. Great job with food
This was our second time dining at El Sitio and it didn’t disappoint us. Food was great as well as service, despite the service being a little slower than normal. I suspect they were a little short waiter staff.
We are on the patio service was leisurely and attentive. Food was delicious. All four of us thoughly enjoyed our meal. Mine was chicken stew which does not adequately describe this dish. Complex wonderful sauce, tender meat perfectly cooked. We brought our own wine. They graciously provided wine glasses and bucket - no corkage fee. We split dessert. I took home leftovers. I will definitely go again
Can’t complain, Great atmosphere! BYOB. Great Latino food.
Great patio. Tasty south american food. Service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry. Overall i would recommend and would visit again. Byob.
The food was excellent. Great for a change from all the Italian options available.
Excellent food, one of the few options in the Philadelphia area for authentic and exceptional South American food. The staff is very friendly and the servers very attentive.
Peruvian picante was great.
Wonderful staff and food! We were able to relax and take our time. My skirt steak was superb, done as requested, as was my sister's salmon. We will definitely be back!
Our service was terrible. We waited about an hour for our meal and until that was brought over we were not checked on, no rolls or even a sorry for the wait. I've had dinner here several other times and it was always very good.
When our plates were taken away, we waited again for our check. Maybe the server was new. He seemed a little overwhelmed but remained polite.
I had the tuna - which was average and my friend had the salmon which he enjoyed. The plates were served with little amounts of sides this time too. Unlike my other visits.
The ambiance and service were excellent but the food was bland and dry, for being a Latin influenced restaurant it lacked unique and interesting flavors. I see lots of potential for this restaurant and hopefully with an adjustment of the menu it could be great.
Great food! Will definitely be back!
it was the worst experience ever. I have been there dozen times.
We showed up right at opening and were the only ones in the restaurant for our meal. They put us at a great live-edge wood table and the service was fantastic. We all got sandwiches and burgers from the lunch menu but also shared some more authentic appetizers and everyone in my group loved their meal.
It was loud bad food and bad service
Server never ordered one persons entree
They went downhill
We were running late and had to adjust the time of the reservation, which was done with no problem. The waitress knew the menu inside out and backwards and was able to answer a number of questions. This is one of my Collingswood favorites, and, once again, it did not disappoint.
Our meals were not good. Was suppose to be a chicken stew and had no vegetables. Not impressed at all. Two of the four meals were wrong. Gave them a second chance and we’re done. Too many other good restaurants out there. Do not recommend!
Absolutely better than expected. Amazing food, atmosphere, and costs. Will definitely be back.
