El Quinto Pino
This winning and fresh approach has meant that El Quinto Pino has enjoyed being called “the best” and “most authentic tapas bar” over and over again since we opened in 2007.
What Insiders Are Saying
This restaurant/wine bar in Chelsea from the folks who brought you Tia Pol and Txikito delivers solid authentic Spanish eats, wine, and sangria.
Our meal was very good, food & wine were excellent, but the service was average at best. Our waiter was okay, but acted disinterested, like he didn't want to be there.
Cool small spot with tasty tapas!!!! Good date place or to catch up with a close friend.
Everything was acceptable and the food was good, however, there was something missing... excitement! There are many tapas places in NYC and the nearby Tia Pol restaurant has simply more flair. There is a tendency to overrate NYC restaurants... because we want NYC to be great. I love NY and its restaurants but when you travel around you realize there are better places.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration with tapas and good wine at El Quinto Pino. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was delicious, and they creatively addressed the birthday food challenge (no wheat or milk) with a candle in carmelized pineapple -- perfect! We will be back!
Picked because it was near where we were, we were hungry, and it had lots of good reviews. Once again an Open Table serendipity! Not particularly noticeable from the street, it has an energetic and noisy bar, but in the back in the dining area is an oasis of quiet and good food. The tapas are inexpensive; as little as $4 for wonderful almonds and olives and deviled eggs which are delicious, to no more than $14. I enjoyed the egg and potato omelette, which is more like a quiche. Service was excellent, they kept my water glass full at all times and that was important because I was very thirsty. So my hat's off to this Andalusian tapas gem.
Delicious, creative spanish tapas. Loved the anchovies with vanilla butter, so surprising! Service was excellent.
Almost every table was a couple, but very varied: from first dates to girls’ night to older couples. Really great, relaxed vibe and very good tapas! Am tempted not to right a good review only bc I don’t want to share this new secret treasure!
I was so excited to come to eat tapas at this restaurant expecting to be blown away due to all the buzz online about it. Unfortunately, the food was extremely mediocre, overpriced, and tiny. I haven’t been to many places for tapas in Manhattan, but I was extremely underwhelmed, and if this truly is one of the best tapas places in NYC, I’d recommend that you instead spend your money on other types of food in the city that are more tasty, filling, and worth the prices (i.e. Italian, Chinese, etc.). The croquettes lacked flavor, the burger was too rich, the seafood paella dish was just not very good, the calamari sandwich was sorta tasty, the patatas were nothing special, and they were out of their famous uni panini. Thankfully, there are plenty of other wonderful places to try next time I have a night out in New York.
Fun place for drinks and tapas. The wine recommendation was excellent
We enjoyed most of the tapas we ordered. Highly recommend the paella
Loved the ambience (mellow and a bit funky) and also loved our waitress who was warm and friendly and also quite helpful. Some interesting dishes, all very tasty.
Food is consistently great, service is on point, the restaurant is clean and always a friendly vibe to it.
Such an enjoyable experience - especially compared to the expensive chaos that is Hudson Yards (realize it’s a super different experience). The staff were warm, welcoming - the food was delicious and authentic, drinks were yummy and it did not break the bank.
I’m already planning my next group dinner at El Quinto Pino and I can’t wait to go back!
Fantastic, friendly and tasty. The food was great, the staff particularly engaging, and we were welcome to stay and enjoy visiting with our family member who had joined us for lunch. The refreshing pitcher of sangria capped a perfect spring day. Do yourself a favor and save room for the churros.
Wonderful gem in the West Village. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is what I remembered when I went to Spain; very delicious and good price point. Good for a date or a group of friends.
I had a great dining experience here - it was quiet with great service, and the food was amazing. My only issue was that it wasn't clear before making the reservation that they only offered the lunch menu at the time we were dining. I would have preferred to be able to order from the more expansive dinner menu as well, but the lunch food was very good. Would return!
Lamb skewers were tasty and flavourful, everything else was more bland or unbalanced.
Service was average, multiple servers asking if we’ve ordered drinks.
The food is consistently delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. A true NYC gem.
We came for a 6:00 reservation and the dining area was almost empty, but the staff still seemed tense and inattentive. They seemed especially disinterested in our questions about the food on the menu, and especially distracted when we raised questions about what we had been served. The plates were small, and the food was good. Overall, I think this place has become a bit complacent, given their reviews. I took a professional colleague and was sorry I did.
One of my family’s favorites. Never a bad meal at EQP. Love their brunch dishes. Server was very nice and efficient.
Excellent as always - fresh delicious food and superb service!
The service was great ...knowledgable, helpful staff. Delicious, authentic Spanish food. Cute place with a lot of character. Easy walk to Hi-line and Hudson Yards.
We had a great meal for 6. The tapas were excellent, especially the bravas and peppers. The egg dishes were very well -seasoned with great sauce for dipping. Service was very attentive.
Really delicious tapas plates. The specials were excellent. The drinks were fabulous - really well balanced cocktails. Lovely atmosphere. I'll be going back and bringing friends.
Great selection of tapas. We really enjoyed everything. Tables are a little tight but then again, I had a lot of stuff with me. Really lovely evening.
The food at El Quinto Pino is outstanding. The service was lovely other than the fact that the seating options were limited and the options weren't appealing.
Great tapas and wine selection to go along
Nice ambiance and good service. Expensive after ordering the recommended 2-3 plates per person and a drink. I’d go back but not too of the list.
Was a bit disturbed by the 45 minute wait despite arriving for our reservation on time. That soured the experience for half our group of four, ensuring that at least some of us will not be back. The food was good, but we have had better tapas before.
Great place. The menu selection is great, food is great. Comfortable restaurant.
The restaurant has a very cool vibe and the menu offered a very nice variety and the food was very flavorful. Our waitress, Kaci, provided exceptional service and also offered insightful suggestions.
Food was delicious, with both traditional tapas offerings and imaginative new takes. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. An excellent spot to grab dinner and a drink before a walk on the High Line.
Cozy neighborhood gem with nice range of tasty tapas and always a few specials for variety. Friendly service. I've dined her many times and the consistent quality and graciousness has helped EQP last in a very competitive market.
We love this local restaurant and find the ambiance transports us to another place. And the food is delicious! Our waiter knew everything about the menu and was incredibly helpful.
Always a pleasure! Everything about this place is a delight and the food is the best and most delicious tapas in town!
Recommendation would be based on experiences prior to4/7. On 4/7, No bloody mary’s (at brunch!). No limes in g&t’s. When we asked for them, we got rounds and not wedges. A request for a replacement lime wedge was ignored, as was a request for a second bottle of wine (waiter had to be chased!). Confusing menu: why have dinner specials on the board if they’re not available? Why give us hard copy dinner menus? We like you but someone was not paying attention on 4/7 (my wife’s birthday celebration!!). Suggest you pay more attention to detail. Not easy but necessary.
not a spanish tapa bar at all and food is overpriced. mediocre flavors.
Tables were too close. Food was very mediocre. Trout dish good. Cauliflower we at over cooked. They asked us to give up our table for other diners when we had barely finished meal. Sever was pleasant.
Wonderful food, friendly ( and very responsive!) service! Bravo!
The tapas were very, very small, much smaller than the portion a regular tapa or ración should be. Some were good, some were not. But for that kind of bill you can get a substantial and very pleasant meal somewhere else. The value proposition was not there.
Cozy spot with very friendly staff. Everything we had was amazing! The grilled squid is a must have!
