Always a great spot, for large groups and small. Great food, combined with great and friendly service.
Nice restaurant, but food was average, so feels a bit overpriced. We enjoyed our dinner, service was good.
What a gem of a restaurant!!! The food was excellent and they were incredibly accommodating about our being late and then short of time. A lovely experience.
Food is not to the high level quality.
I have tried couple of spanish restaurant, and they are much better than this one. Such as 'LA Fonda Del Sol'.
El Porron is one of our favorite restaurants. It provide cozy setting, a gracious host, good service and delicious food. What more could one want?
Excellent food, service and ambiance
We love the service and the food is terrific. they have great wines and desserts as well. We Love patatas brava, pulpo, empanadas, mixed mushrooms, the seafood paella and the rose wine sangria
Everything was great, definitely recommend for all occasions.
Exceptional meal. Wonderful spot.
Food was delicious and service was attentive.
Every time we eat here we enjoy it. All the tapas are tasty and some are very interesting, like the tripe. The meatballs are my favorite. The service is friendly and professional and the owner is super nice. We are becoming regulars here.
Food was amazing! All of the seafood was super fresh and the paella was great. Great value for what you’re getting. We’ll be back!
First time we dined at El Porron. Food was excellent and our server was very helpful in making our selections. We will definitely go back.
My first time there. The service was attentive yet relaxed. The food was delicious. We shared both the Shrimp and Scallop tapas and they were excellent. My Red Snapper was amazing and I would definitely recommend it. I will be going there again this week and expect El Porron to become one of my go-to restaurants.
Hospitable décor, a friendly staff, authentic food cooked deliciously. It's a restaurant that will visit frequently.
Fine authentic Tapas restaurant on the Upper East Side. The owner and the waiters were extremely gracious.
Very good food
Great place excellent food
Fernando, our waiter, was delightful. He knew the menu and gave us excellent recommendations. We had a leisurely and delicious lunch.
I like the atmosphere and service. There are many tapa choices to choose from. Wines are limited but of good selection. Highly recommended.
My wife and i visit New York frequently and often work in a dinner at El Porron. It never disappoints. The food is delicious food and the menu is always supplemented with specials. The wine is good and not exorbitantly priced. The service is excellent. El Porron always offers a nice cozy evening out.
Very good food, value, and service- just very low lighting
We got there early and the place wasn’t busy, 1 table & 1 bar seat. Once we sat down the server gave us the dinner menu. He then began washing windows. A party of 2 came in and another person sat at the bar, all Caucasian. They were both served quickly while the server never acknowledged us. Once we got up he came to us. I sat there about half an hour. I’ve been here before few times for dinner and never had an issue. I will advise people never to go there during lunch.
Food was exceptionally good and the service was attentive and friendly! So glad we found this authentic and delicious place!!
Our favorites were the anchovies and octopus.
The owner, "Mr G", is very personable and truly cares that his patrons have an enjoyable experience.
The wine is reasonably priced. We have enjoyed all tapas and on other occasions entrees and and all have been great. Highly recommended
Great Spanish food and friendly wait staff! Not too busy on weekends, so great time to come :)
Great experience. We got a nice table by the window. Service was attentive. Food was good. Good choices of wines.
The food is as authentic Spanish cuisine as can be found in NY. Very attentive staff and excellent service. I always return when in NY for a visit.
Family gathering. Food and service were excellent, as always😊
Good neighborhood spot with great food and great service.
Delicious and authentic Spanish tapas, plus some creative twists on the classics. Convenient location if you are going to Dangerfield's Comedy Club, which is right across the street. Reasonable prices, especially if you make a dinner for two from four or five tapas and a glass of sangria.
We love the warmth of the staff and atmosphere at El Porron. They are so responsive and accommodating. All the expected tapas (chorizo, shrimp in garlic, roasted potatoes) are tasty though the portions are a little small and with a bigger group it's somewhat tricky to figure out how many of each to order. The sangria is a perfect accompaniment especially on these warmer nights.
Small portions are not atypical for a Tapas bar but food was also uniformly tasteless and bland.
The tipping is done on a hand-held mini computer and it is very confusing; you are provoked into leaving more than you normally would!
We went for Mother’s Day. This is one of my favorite restaurants especially with a large group. The waitstaff does an outstanding job of pacing the meal and making sure to keep all the delicious food coming while the paella is being prepared. This restaurant is always consistent with great food and service.
Always love this neighborhood gem.
An amazing experience. Food very authentic, even beer we can only get locally in Spain on tap. Celebrated a birthday with friends in from Spain and they were so impressed. The owner spent considerable time at our table. Wonderful experience!
Our go to neighborhood Tapas. The food is always great, the wine fantastic and the service exceptional!
