Food was delicious. Service was awesome. Definitely would go back again!
Food was excellent! Will be back soon
Awesome food here. Will be coming back soon
Luckily this was a girl's night out and we were having so much fun together that we didn't mind the fact that our server paid no attention to us at all, and I'm pretty sure actually forgot that he hadn't taken our order when he came back about 30 minutes after we got our guacamole and drinks... the food was delicious but the service was terrible!!
The ultimate Mexican food experience nestled right in beautiful Chestnut Hill, what a gem!
Always a great place for our group of older moms to hang out and catch up. FAB Margaritas and small plates. This is my favorite place for gathering in small groups. They are so accommodating and we can always share around the table.
Been to the restaurant several times. Best sangria. Always a wonderful meal. Love the rice bowls with beef, pork or shrimp. Coffee is quite good. Hope to be back soon.
I love this place! Delicious food - seemingly very authentic. There's lots of traditional/regular Mexican options but plenty of new things to try as well. Great margaritas!
Delicious food and great service. The Mexican chop salad is wonderful.
Love this restaurant, delicious food, cool atmosphere and parking around the back.
This was our 3rd time to this restaurant and we will not go back. The service was awful. Our server complete forgot to bring our soup. In addition, he basically disappeared. My husband ordered a second drink, but I was not ready for one. The server never returned. We waited for 20 min to get our check. What an utter disappointment.
The one major problem was that our entrees were served to us when we had just begun eating our appetizers. As a former waiter, I recognize that his kind of rush technique is sometimes used to turn the tables more quickly. I'm not sure this was the case at El Poquito, but it shouldn't happen no matter the circumstances.
I have wanted to try this restaurant for some times and I have heard a variety of great reviews. A group of friends and I decided to go on this randomly warm day in February and sit outside. Due to the rain we sat inside. When I arrived my friends were already seated. The waitress took more than 5 minutes to greet the newest guests. It took her literally 30min to ask if we were interested in ordering food after large gaps of time without any interaction. We were offered drinks in a more timely manner but still slower than desired and nothing was suggested when my desired beverage was not available. She never asked if we were familiar with the menu or suggested any items. She never clarified our order which resulted in serving a grilled option when I wanted the fried option. She was unaware of the confusion until the bill was requested because she never did a check back to see if we were pleased with our food. When questions were asked, her responses were short and no alternatives were suggested. All orders were requested and not offered. I never got a simple refill on water! She never asked if we wanted anything else. She was very inattentive and seemed uninterested. All the guests at the table have worked in the service industry for years so we understand the struggles of waitressing on a business night. However, it is still important to show interest in your guest and make sure their experience is pleasant. Ours was far from that. I am very disappointed and I am unsure if I would go back. I considered speaking to the manager but as a former waitress I did not intentionally want to get anyone in trouble. In retrospect, I should have addressed my concerns because an apology for poor service would have been appreciated. On the upside, the ambiance was great, I love the outdoor seating (even though it rained) and the guacamole was very fresh and tasty. My two menu suggestions: the tacos should be mix and match and Mojitos should be available year round!!!!!
Wonderful as always! Lovely evening on the patio. Service was impeccable and food/drink wonderful. Great for our entire family including our 2 year old.
Fabulous as always! Have been going there for the past 3 years! This is our happy place!
A Cali-Mex menu and décor with vegetarian options. Food and portions were very good. Not a huge beer menu, but plenty of variety and good selections. Lighting is a bit dim for my taste, but it makes it romantic. The mini firework sparkler was a great touch for my birthday desert. There is a large outdoor seating area, but it was not open when we visited (winter time). Overall great time.
This place was fantastic. It was my first time there and i took a friend out for their birthday. The margaritas were great, the food marvelous and service was excellent. Dessert set the whole experience apart with the chocolate tacos man childhood brought back. I loved it and would definitely come back
It was great!! I really enjoyed the food and our server was very friendly.
Food was excellent. Tacos a bit cold. Margaritas need more flavor.
There were a lot of kids running through the restaurant. I felt like I was at Friendly's.
Nachos are the best, please bring back the wings that you had a few weeks ago!!!
Helen was an awesome server! She recommended the ahi tuna ceviche which was delicious. She knew when we needed her and when to leave us alone. We will be coming back when it gets warmer so we can enjoy the patio!
Dinner was great !
Overpriced tacos. Bar was in the weeds.
Ceviche used to be better.
Excellent food and service, been multiple times. My only issue is the not so great beer list, for the times i may not want margaritas. But that wouldnt keep me away.
Fish tacos were fresh and tasty. Blood orange margarita was delicious. Quiet setting, easy to hold a conversation.
Food was great, shrimp tacos, plantains and beef nachos were amazing. The menu was kind of confusing, especially when we ordered Empanadas. All in all, good atmosphere and a great place for friends to hang out!
We just love dining there!
Was here for first visit. Initially thought the menu was limited but they have enough variety I could come back over and over. My tacos were very fresh and tasty. The gin cocktail was terrific. Good choice.
Great food and drinks
Have lived in Chestnut Hill a long time and had only been to the bar at El Poquito. A friend had told me the brussel sprout tacos were amazing and I looked up the menu and couldn't believe I hadn't tried it before. We went on New Year's Eve and the ambience was very romantice, soft lighting, beautiful wood interior. The food was great, especially the plantains and the corn side dish with queso. My fish tacos were excellent. My fiance said his short rib tacos could have been a little more tender but were still delicious. Will definitely come back again. Especially since we are within walking distance!!
The food was awesome!
Waiter was impatient and clearly unhappy to be working on Christmas Eve. We were rushed even though the place was practically empty. Service was terrible. Food just ok.
Great food! Went with a group of girl friends, perfect place to gather. Nice atmosphere! We will be back.
Made reservations for 7:00, arrived at 6:30. Was given the option to be seated immediately or go to the bar. We went to the bar had a drink and were seated after finished. That was nice. The severs were knowledgeable and personable. Had some standard fair, tacos, enchiladas and guacamole. Food was very tasty. Had a selection of margaritas which we sampled. Food came out on time and in order. Overall experience was very enjoyable.
overall good; but it was a cold night and the heat was on too high! We asked them to lower and we were fine.
We had a baby shower with nine women. Menue is very good for vegan, vegetarian. Service was great.
The grilled cod served over rice and beans with a flavorful sauce was a very welcome and tasty surprise.
Food was actually very good.... portions were so tiny though.
Amazing. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the chorizo tacos
