Finally able to take my parents and brothers here! Everyone loved their meals - the best carne asada tacos I’ve ever had.
Always tasty and excellent service!
good food and a fun atmosphere. we sat upstairs which was really nice.
Service was rather slow, food took a VERY long time and was kind of underwhelming. No a bad experience but not a good one either, just okay.
Thank you to El Poquito for a lovely birthday brunch!
We made this reservation in hopes that this Mexican restuarant was celebrating Day of the Dead, but when we arrived it was quite and not very busy—not a celebration in sight.
Luckily the food wasn’t bad.
Sat by a door opening and closing - cold on my back. Very small portions for price .
It was a nice place with a nice date night environment. A family friendly place and good food.
Fun environment and great food!
A very nice dinner, great atmosphere and impeccable service
We looove the patio and the quieter room on the other side of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the central area where the bar is is very loud.
The tacos are consistently delicious and we like many of the appetizers. Would like to see occasional taco specials.
Great margaritas! Loved the avocado salad and fried cod tacos.
Service started out slow, no one came to the table for 10 minutes but after that it was fine.
Menu is very limited but Salsas are delicious, margaritas are good, tacos are very good. Will go back to try the fajitas.
Normally the service is poor but the food is great, making it a with while trade off. This time service was poor as was the food. Hope this is a one off.
Good experience. Great drinks!! Okay food. Pricey.
Great food and environment. Staff was very accommodating of our large group!
Great server, Nate! Food was fresh, delicious and served within reasonable time. Drinks and bartender superb! I love El Poquito and the outside space. Great menu and taco Tuesday is awesome!
Food is delicious. Inside noise; outside better due to less noise.
The food was not bad, I like Mexican food that’s spicy; caliente! My friend really raved about the place because of the ambiance, & I too enjoyed that. Overall, it was a great experience!
Too many kids
Tequila and Tacos was my reason for stopping in and I had a great experience the food was tasty and the prices were reasonable
Great Spot! Tacos are fantastic and the daily special margaritas are always on point. Continue to come back to this place
Our waitress, was helpful with menu, and very nice. The food was very good, enjoyed the nachos. Only down was the frozen machine went down, no more frozen margaritas, and they ran out of wings on a Saturday. We still had fun, and enjoyed the food.
We had a perfect dining experience. The food was outstanding, the tequila cocktails were delicious and our server Jess was the best. Jess was very helpful and knowledgeable on both the food and tequila choices. I would highly recommend El Poquito, we prefer the outdoor seating.
Everything was great.
food isn't bad but VERY VERY expensive for a few tacos.
If they're going to claim themselves as Mexican they need to serve chips and sales GRATIS and be more friendly.
This is not just "upscale" which is FINE TO BE,
it is just PRETENTIOUS CHESTNUT HILL BOUGEY
So great! Food was wonderful
Excellent fresh food! Plantains were fabulous
Food was not hot enough when it came to the table.
Nice decor and service but the food let a lot to desire for the price.
Food and ambiance were very nice. Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working very well and the machine being used to cool the space was a bit loud. However, this was probably unique to this particular night. Overall, good restaurant and our friends (and first time visitors) who we invited enjoyed it.
We dined later in the evening and the server just seemed really annoyed that we had arrived — she was definitely not friendly or welcoming, just annoyed. There was no hostess to seat us so we were a bit unsure what to do at first or where we could sit.
The margaritas were good. I was underwhelmed and very disappointed by the chips, they didn't taste or look authentic or fresh — it seemed as though they came out of a bag of chips I could buy at the corner store. Especially for the price of the salsas... All in all, this was a very disappointing experience but we will give it another shot in hopes that we have better luck next time.
I love this place, the food and atmosphere is amazing. But the service is lacking. All the servers are super sweet but our waitress basically ignored us the whole night. Our food took a long time because the kitchen was backed up (not her fault) and we didn’t mind that. But she never refilled our water or asked if we wanted a second drink. we asked for a dessert menu after dinner and she came back literally 10 mins later with one. We then waited another 10 minutes for her to come back to take our order and got so fed up that I found another server and just asked for the check. :-/
Unfortunately, service was terrible. Air conditioner did not seem to be working. Took 10 minutes just to get water once seated. Food was just OK. previously had good experiences here so not sure what is going on but will not be back.
Seated next to large air conditioning unit that
made it hard to have a conversation.
This was our first time eating here, and it was awesome! We went for restaurant week and the portions were full and delicious. The tacos were our favorite. Our favorite part of the night was the young boy singing live with a piano. It made the night perfect.
Let’s start with the lack of air conditioning. Two mismatched window units in the front window only helped a little. Server was inattentive and seemed new. Usually reliable Crispy jalapeños came in lumps, not delicate individual slices. Fajita flavor was great, but was mostly a huge pile of peppers with some chicken. Kudos to management, who swiftly and deftly handled a small problem with one of our drinks. Please invest in your infrastructure.
Excellent food and service. Fun environment. Consistent, with some great new menu items. Highly recommended!
We're El Poquito regulars. The food and service are always great and the margaritas are even better. (Highly recommend "El Campeon") Last night there was an AWESOME trio called Sweet 66 (I think) playing on the patio--they were fantastic. Never been there with live music before but it made a normally fun experience way better. I hope they do more live music in the future. The owners have made a unique (fun, chill) experience in the heart of Chestnut Hill. Love this place.
Absolutely a winner, amazing food, amazing atmosphere. Ruth and her recommendations were perfect! 🙏🏽
