Great authentic food! Wish they would close a little bit later on Fridays.
Great place to watch the game, great drinks my favorite is the steak burrito 🌯🌮
The service was bad, it took them a long time to ask for the order, to bring the food, to serve the drinks, and to bring the check. It seemed like they were short staff.
GOOd taste but overpriced. Nice atmosphere and good waitstaff
One of my favorite local Mexican Food Restaurants. They have a very friendly and professional wait staff and the tableside guacamole is the best!
Really Great mexican food
Great casual friendly ambiance
Had a small party of 7 guys while my daughter had a Baby Shower. Service was attentive and accommodating to giving us all the time we needed. Food was great. Definitely will go back
Found this very nice Mexican Restaurant with good food and service. Unusual and very nice ambience and sound level is reasonable . Free parking in a large self park lot.
Fun night, sitting outside a treat when you are from Phoenix. We all liked our meal and the servers were very friendly, just too busy.
I made a reservation for 2 but I needed a reservation for 3. When I called to correct the number in my party the lady who answered said ok and that was that. When I got there she said the reservation had been canceled. I explained I only called to add 1 more person not to cancel. then when we got there we gave the hostess a cake we brought for our friends birthday. She sat us and still only gave us 2 menues and 2 silverware sets. When we ordered we got the big fiesta platter so the 3 of us could share and we got some drinks. When they brought our plate they came behind us asking if it was ours. We replied yes and began to clear the center of the table but the waiter was in too much of a hurry that he just left the huge plate at the edge of our table. So we fixed our plate and then waited for a server to pass by because they didn't bring us plates for this huge platter we had ordered.. then when we asked for the cake again we asked for plates and the server just sewed annoyed like it's too much for her to even deal with. The atmosphere was nice but with such bad service it's not worth the drive.
With the live band it was too loud for dinner, had to leave.
We had an extra long lunch, and our server was super accommodating......and the food was generous, hot and good!!!
We have been here on several occasions! The food & drinks are very good! Service is good & always a nice table to accommodate our needs! It was great for Mother's Day! plenty of parking in back!
I was pleasantly surprised with dinner on Saturday night. I've been to El Patron several times and felt it was "ok". This time, I was quite impressed. Our server was wonderful. I'm very allergic to cilantro and have always stressed that to our server at any restaurant for any kind of food. This time, our server actually listened, jotted down notes and served a delicious - cilantro free meal.
I will happily return to El Patron.
really excellent. Brought friends for first time who thoroughly enjoyed it and very reasonable. Portions are generally large. Don't need rice and beans unless you want. ordered ala carte and very filling
Food wasn't that great. My husband order tortilla soup and didn't finish as it wasn't that good. The margaritas were excellent. The table side guacamole had no flavor. Don't think we will visit again.
Restaurant wasn't accepting OpenTable reservations yet you took my reservation request anyways
Noise level was insane, service was slowest you can imagine, they didn't honor our reservations, food and drinks were so slow to arrive - we could have ordered a Dominos pizza and get it faster. The place was a mess. Will NEVER go back.
Recommended to us so we thought, lets check it out for Cinco De Mayo, the line was out the door, no parking in their lot or anywhere on the side streets so we went else where... The next afternoon my man said "let's go back and check out El Patro, happy we did the drinks, service and food were excellent.....!
Our overall experience was okay. Meal and food service was good HOWEVER our Open Table reservation was not honored. We arrived 15 Minutes early and had received confirmation emails only to be told they had no reservations for anyone that night. Another couple there was told the same. No apologies for the situation, just "we don't have reservations today."
Very good--and ample--Mexican food. My wife had the fajitas and she really liked them. High quality chicken and lots of condiments. I had the house burrito and it was massive, and delicious. There's a lot of pretty good Mexican food in Southern California and El Patron is a little better than most. The house margarita was excellent. They have an outdoor patio and I can easily imagine drinking margaritas all afternoon in the shade. The evening we went it was fairly loud, as they had a live band playing. It was fun, but El Patron is not ideal if you are looking for a quiet meal. Our server was fantastic. That really enhanced the experience.
Tostada w chicken was terrific and large. I made combo of tilapia taco, choke reloading, and chiecken enchilada. Huge portion. Taco was delicious. Very diverse Mexican menu
Great Sunday Brunch! The selection may not be as big as some of the fancier brunches, but the quality is top notch!
What an AMAZING experience!! We were a family of 30, and they worked with us 100%. The waiters, bartender, and chef were very friendly and understanding! Amazing hospitality! Amazing ambiance! Amazing Customer Service!.... and let's not forget the Bottomless Mimosas!..... Rate: 10/10!
Love going to El Patron. Staff is always super friendly, food is always really good. Overall a great experience!
Food is typically pretty good here but service was off that evening.
We enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner for my son. The food was good portions and there were several vegetarian options. Although I think it is very nice to have live music on Saturday nights, it was important to us to be in a separate area so that we could talk. Thanks for a fun night.
Good ambience! Tasty food, was a nice friend's get together night! Would recommend for night out
The food was fair. The chips were good, but the salsa was bland. The guacamole was good. The chili relleno was really undercooked and the coating subpar. The margaritas were quite good and very huge selection of tequilas. The enchiladas were also good. Service was quite friendly and they have lots of big screens if you like viewing sports.
Come here quite a lot, great food and drinks large restaurant with indoor or outdoor covered patio seating! Love the ceviche, tacos and and all the quesadillas. During the summer great outdoor ambiance with wonderful water mist to relax with a drink and enjoy a summer night with great friends or a romantic outing.
Friendly service, great food. Tortillas and bean dip to start; carne asada burrito is THE BEST. great selection of draft beers and margheritas.
Terrible food. Terrible Margarita. Went once will never go back. I don't know how they stay in business.
They serve a great bean dip along with salsa and chips. Portions are extra big.
Service was good, but a little disappointed with the overall quality of food. The beans were dry, and the rice tasted like Rice o' Roni. Usually homemade authentic Mexican Rice and beans are soft, and of melts in your mouth, it's usually something you remember, not feel disappointed with. I ordered a combo plate with 1 chicken taco and 1 cheese enchilada, and I have to say the portions were quite small for the price. Usually Mexican Restaurants give you a ton, and are very generous with their portions, but I did not find that here. The cheese enchilada sauce was very bright red, and really didn't have much flavor to it, and the chicken was a bit hard, almost like it was frozen. I rather go to Los Torros, or Salsa & Beer, or even El Torito next time!
A large restaurant that accommodated us quickly. We had tried one about a mile away that had 90 minute wait and decided to come to El Patron. It was a good choice.
It had been a while, but good and service were both great. Plus, there was a guy playing/singing mariachi music and other tunes.
We went for New Year's Day. The service was a bit slow (the waitress was on her own) but the food and drinks delicious. And the live music was pleasant and unobtrusive. And they serve their chips with bean dip! We will definitely return!
The server was so friendly and the food was good. Will return for sure.
The service was great, waiters were very sweet and attentive. The mariachis were the highlight of the night!
This is my go to place for good Mexican food .
