Great place in west u. Service great also. Food wonderful!
Last time we had tapas only and had a great meal. This time we decided to try some entrees. Two of us ordered fish spanish style and the other person order a cuban style dish. We thought the entrees were just ok. However, we really enjoyed the octopus tapas again, and dessert was also really good. We will still return because we think there are great things on the menu. We will probably try the paella next time.
The excellence of the food selections was amazing! The quality of the ingredients was first rate. We especially enjoyed our drinks and the wine. Waiter’s selections and assistance helped us decipher choices that fit our tastes. Have the flan for dessert!
Came for the food and superb Spanish wine list. Both were outstanding!
Our meal was great as always. The wine list is great and well priced.
Great Paella which is something that you don’t often find. Terrific wine list. Outstanding service, nice, helpful, prompt. Excellent.
What a surprise. We’ve lived in the area 20+ years and never ate here. Always said we would. But today were walking around the village and decided to try it out. Menu is big. Tapas, paella, and mains. Spanish / Cuban. All the food we saw around us looked yummy. We had two salads and tapas and enjoyed it. Our favorite was the Pulpo (octopus). Our waiter, Jesus, was great. Price point is good for the food quality. We will definitely include this in our regular eating out rotation.
Great food - service was fantastic and very accommodating to our changing party size. Highly recommend this, but don't over-order like we did!!
Great food. Waitstaff was friendly. They were also attentive and above average knowledge of menu.
The friendly wait staff and excellent food makes it all worthwhile the visit.
Food had very good flavor, but lacked a little in the presentation. i had the pan fried snapper and it was quite good, but could have used a little sauce of some variety. wife had the braised skirt steak and it was really good, not great, but really good. all in all, a fine meal.
Excellent as always
Fabulous menu! The BEST croquettes ever made!!! The black beans are just like Mom use to make. Love this restaurant!
Very surprised and saddened that on a Saturday night they did not have the paella with lobster!! How do you “run out”??
hadn't been to eat here in years, was relieved to hear the ownership had not changed. it was just as i remembered- elegant, yet comfortable, friendly and attentive service, superb wine list, great food and prices that don't send you for an oxygen bottle. note to self: don't wait so long to go back next time.
The food was great on the higher cost side. The waiter was hard to understand and did not seem to understand our questions.
Really enjoyed the paella.
Everything was delicious, but the paella was stand out. Service and atmosphere were nice. Will be back.
Excellent paella and a great wine selection perfect for pairing with the meal.
Loved the great variety of tapas - simple dishes but excellently prepared (like the very tender octopus and the savory morcilla) with superior quality ingredients. We ordered extra of the spinach with pine nuts and raisins. They really get things right. The Spanish wine list is fantastic. Our waiter was extremely helpful and professional and the pacing was very good. (We went back another day and the waiter that day was not so impressive). The decor is not amazing but we'll take the wonderful value over higher prices with fancier surroundings.
Excellent service and excellent for business and good atmosphere
Food was not so good. My wife got the "palomilla" but was not tender.........kind of soggy and hard. We were expecting better quality in the black beans ( since this is a Cuban cuisine restaurant) but was not that good. Our waitress was really good and the atmosphere overall in the restaurant was OK.
Excellent service and food.
Great service, and they don't rush you through your meal. Food is wonderfully prepared with a mix of Spanish, Cuban, and Mexican dishes.
Great wine selection and recommendation from the wine expert. We never had a main entree, just tapas, which was perfect!
Wife and I had dinner here before going to the Alley Theatre recently. Arriving at 6 PM we had no problem with our reservation. The valet and self parking next door in bank parking lot cost $5.00. The wait staff was friendly and courteous. The food was very good. My wife enjoyed her Pollo Salteado and raved about the black beans. I had the El Chuleton. The steak was cooked to perfection though a little chewy. The sauce was great as were the sides. The Cepa 21 Duro was a great match with the beef. Next time we will do the Tapas and/or Paella.
El Meson is the best place to go to get away in the Dayton Area. My husband and I chose it for our rehersal dinner and it was the perfect setting to enjoy great food that is good for me to eat. I have celiac disease and can't have gluten. Their menu is easy to navigate and the blackberry mojitos to die for.
I'll always suggest this place.
Best margaritas! Love the tacos al carbon.
Our favorite waiter is Jesus.
Always a fantastic dinner. The food, the staff and the ambiance - Perfect!
Love the Food and the service, the waitstaff is fantastic
Best margarita in town! Love their black bean soup and also the Tacos.
It was more Mexican food than tapas. At least when were there the special menu had Mexican food choices.
Excellent food as always and exceptional friendly service
Great service - able to impress clients with this choice on a busy Houston Friday.
This restaurant is our favorite for the delicious Cuban food and the fabulous tapas. The service is very good and efficient.
We came to celebrate a special occasion but this is also fantastic for everyday dining.
The restaurant is good as well as the food. Everything started with the parking. It is a busy street, and there was a valet/self parking fee of $5. The price is not the problem, if you go to a fine restaurant you are expected to pay for parking. The issue was with the guys in the parking place. I felt he was more worried about his $5 than to offer us the facility to park. The he was on front of the car thinking I was going to run away without paying. Not a friendly guy for sure. I didn't want to make a big deal of it, so we wouldn't ruin the evening.
The menu is good, with variety to choose from. They charge $5 to split and 20% tip for parties or 6 or more people. You gladly give 20% for good service, but I didn't feel it was nice to impose a tip. The we asked if they would offer bread or chips, and the waitress responded that if you ask for it, than yes, because some people leave it on the table. Come on, a restaurant of this category worried about chips!!
They should pay more attention to customer service. Food was very good, but little details like this don't make you feel welcome and there are plenty more restaurants in Houston to choose from. Don't let the name of the restaurant fell you control the market.
We've always enjoyed El Meson but the food, ambiance and service seem to get better and better.
We came to dine in for our anniversary. Food was outstanding like always. Our server that evening I believe it was Armando he was excellent. We will be back soon. Thanks
The restaurant staff is very customer service oriented, and the food is delicious!
Great food and outstanding service makes us come back to this place. It’s like having a great meal with friends
