Such a fun night out at El Mansour! The food is AMAZING!!!! The belly dancing is great fun, entertaining for kids, out-of-town guests, and nights out with friends! It's best to order family style to sample the most interesting items. So yummy!

If you have never experiences Moroccan cuisine, El Mansour is an excellent option for that "maiden venture." You can't go wrong with the standard menu which includes scrumptious Bastilla, lentil soup, honey mint tea. I would recommend the lamb with honey and almonds as your entrée. Bring an extra $5 for the belly dancer... she is worth it.

We had a great date at El Monsour's!!. We got there when it opened at 5 and had the place to ourselves. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The owner gave us some history on the place. And mostly, the food was AMAZING!. Great price for a 5 course meal. We will be going back and I will recommend to my friends and family.

I hadn't been to El Mansour in probably 20 years, but was feeling nostalgic and craving traditional Moroccan cuisine. The food was fantastic - even better than my last visit. Service was very attentive and time between (5) courses was appropriate. Decore is very relaxing. Will definitely return and I highly recommend!

The food was fantastic and so delicious! There was plenty to eat and the service was great and very friendly. I love watching the belly dancers because they're always so fun to watch (and sometimes participate in). The ambiance was very comfortable and relaxing for the nice date I had with my boyfriend.

We had a blast celebrating my sister's birthday and having my children back in the city. From the server/owner to the food and joining the belly dancer added to the fun. I will definitely come back again.

I've been going to El Mansour since the 70's and it's still a great dining experience though the recipes have changed slightly over the years. Same menu but the sauces were a bit different, not in a bad way, just different. The interior of the restaurant is like a tent in the desert. The Moroccan music had changed from the more authentic old style to a more disco-house version with lots of keyboards. The fabric on the walls keeps the ambient noise down, even though the room was 80% full when we were there. The multi course meal was excellent and provided a couple of hours of enjoyment. Very relaxing. The belly dancer was fabulous and the staff were plesant and attentive. I went there with my two adult children for an anniversary and it still had the magic I experienced the first time I went there thirty years ago.

The Chicken entree w/ Honey and Prunes is honestly one of the worst chicken dishes I've ever had. It's inedible; imagine piles of fake/condensed prune syrup spread over chicken. The appetizers were significantly better and were actually pretty good and interesting. The service was great and the belly dancers are a nice touch. I would never go there again because the price is absurdly high (dinner for two is easily ~$100) and the food is mediocre overall and the Chicken entree was atrocious.

It was absolutely stunning in every way. The only unsettling part of the experience was the owner wouldn't stop interacting with us and other patrons. It became VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Other than that, it was fantastic.

El Mansour, you help me feel like I am winning at life (pardon the pun). We don't get to see you often, but each trip makes us question why we stay away so long. I promise to come more often.

El Mansour is always a delightful adventure. I love the reminiscence of Morocco: washing hands, mint tea, tent-like decor. My favorite is the bastilla, and also the lamb with honey and almonds. Others in our group had the roast chicken with almonds and the seafood dinner and loved those, too.

I've been going to this restaurant for almost 40 years and it NEVER disappoints. If you're looking for a completely unique and different dining experience and want great food, service and ambience, this is the place. You need to allow about two hours from start to finish. There are several courses and each one is delicious! You will not go away hungry. The belly dancers are an added touch for the whole Moroccan experience. This is a must for dining while in San Francisco. You won't regret it.

There were 6 people and the seating was in a corner so end people felt left out of the conversation. Also, the tables were very close to the other diners.

After spending the day in Golden Gate park at the music festival, El Mansour was the perfect way to wrap it up. The owner, the staff and even the belly dancer were all terrific and fun, the food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. Only beer and wine are available, but there's a great dive bar right nextdoor.

We visited Mourad downtown a few months ago, and this is hands down superior. Mourad has all the fancy expense account trappings; El Mansour has been here for 35 years and is warm and comfortable. I remember the Bastela at Mourad as disappointing---here it was so good that we order a take out (for three) which we had the next night at home. We came early at 5 pm, so were the only ones in the restaurant at the early part of dinner. Service was outstanding. Highest recommendation.
