We went for dinner with friends before the Smokey Robinson concert. We allowed extra time so we could enjoy our meal & we told our server, as well. We had an excellent meal, very relaxed. Food wonderful.

We have dined here often and always have a great experience and leave absolutely stuffed. We love the friendly service and the romantic atmosphere. We enjoy the Tableside Caesar for Two. It is always spot on and a great way to start your evening. We shared the Flaming Brochette and a side of their Mushroom Risotto. It was all delicious and filling. The tenderloin used on the Brochette was prepared perfectly. First time trying the Risotto and it was outstanding.

Outstanding food! I had an 8oz Filet Migon; the best I’ve had in a while. It did take a while for the food to come out but it was worth the wait. We had a birthday party which was a party of 10.

Sad state of affairs. Used to be my all time favorite place to eat. Unfortunately the ownership has decided to fight back against the new min. wage by jacking their prices up to a point where even I cant justify it. AND... on top of it they get you for a 20% service charge to recoup their losses and make it very clear that it is NOT a tip.

The food is still good and the service is un rivaled.

Gaucho does not disappoint. This, our third visit was relaxing and delicious as expected. The flaming sword is fun and yummy. My personal favorite.
Got to try those tall burgers at happy hour next.

It was my husband’s birthday and I wanted to take him to a place that I knew was consistent in quality and service. Once again, el Gaucho did not disappoint. From the handwritten birthday card to rose petals in table..and ending with a birthday candle on dessert, it was everything I hoped it would be.

We had a wonderful meal. Our service was great. I was disappointed on where we were seated. I made my reservations on line and didn't even think about asking for a certain table. We were there right at 5:00, checked in and waited on the couch with another couple who were there ahead of us. After about 15 min. and several other couples arriving for dinner, we were seated(last of all the people there waiting). Our hosted directed us to the middle of the room, next to the beam with another table for 2 on the other side. She then asked if this table was alright. I was a little perplexed that this was the table selected for us at that hour, but sat down without a word. This was a special occasion in the sense that we got all dressed up, made reservations and were spending a romantic night out after being married for 39 years, 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
After being in the restaurant business for 30 years and customer service for 35 years, you would think I would know better. I will remember to request a certain table the next time I visit.

El Gaucho (Tacoma) is a great classic steakhouse! The service is world class from the moment you walk in the door. Great wine captain and wine list, lots of menu items prepared table side, and just the right amount of attention throughout the evening. The food is incredible, especially the steaks. Lots of great appetizers, salads, and desserts as well. There's a nice selection of add-ons available for your entree. Desserts were great, but you have to save room. The complimentary fruit, cheese, and nut plate at the end is a nice touch. Be sure to join their free Reveler's Club. I went for my birthday and got a nice credit towards the bill because I joined.

Best known for steaks but we opted for fish and it was excellent. Ahi tuna and Chilean sea bass were cooked to perfection! Great service including a shuttle to and from our hotel, and very nice big -city ambience.

From the moment we arrived everything was just outstanding. The service, atmosphere, the drinks at the bar, the table setting, the extra care and hospitality which was provided to me and my wife on our 31st Anniversary.

Thank you for a wonderful experience and you will see my family again.

Service at a restaurant doesn't get any better than El Gaucho. We have never been disappointed, and we are always surprised by the level of service we experience.
Coat Check, Valet, Bartenders, Wait Staff, etc. They are all at the top of their game every time.
Each food item was absolutely wonderful.

First off, you're might run into some issues parking. You can definitely pay valet out front, or you can park a little ways over behind the building.

El Gaucho is also very expensive. One of the pricier places in the area. If you get a couple of drinks, plus your meal, and a desert, it's not unreal to spend $150+ dollars.

With all that said, the trouble parking and the price is definitely worth it. The portions are quite large on everything. There are several items they will prepare tableside. The waitstaff is super helpful, friendly, welcoming...prety much everything you want them to be.

We went on a Saturday evening and they were at near capacity and had a live pianist playing a variety of uptempo oldies. He was pretty good. In general, the ambiance was nice, but it also was a bit loud. We caught ourselves having to speak a little louder than normal in a couple parts of our conversation.

I'd recommend making reservations. I can see this place getting booked up pretty regularly. They also cater to special occasions, so be sure to let them know when you put your reservation in.

We had so much food, we brought a god bit home and had a whole other meal. The food was still just as tasty when reheated even.

Overall, there is very little to complain about. The complaints we did have were VERY minor and the experience more than made up for these minor shortcomings. This is a great place for a night out, assuming it's in you budget.

Another wonderful meal! Staff was as attentive as possible, it was a busy evening and some guests required more attention; however, after our appetizer was corrected, all went very smoothly. Water always filled, meals were enjoyed by all and the staff and ambience help create a wonderful dining experience.

I beyond love this place! The food, service, decor is 6 Star ⭐️ ! I have a problem with people not being dressed appropriate for the atmosphere or being obnoxious and super loud. There should be a dress code there. The pricing is a bit much, not inline for some of the entrees. Overall worth it on occasion to go and splurge.

This is the 2nd time I have dined at El Gaucho and this was as amazing as before. Celebrating our anniversary, the table was decorated with rose petals and a wonderful card thanking us for celebrating there. Now, the food... a perfect bone in NY steak & a filet with crab. A delicious risotto followed up with a table side making of bananas foster.

Perfect steakhouse in every way. Dark, live piano, vibrant bar scene, impeccable service, and phenomenal food. Tacoma’s place to be and be seen. If on a budget, happy hour in the bar is great. The bartenders are courteous, friendly, and never stuffy. Happy hour menu offers a good sampling of the menu in smaller shareable portions. But dinner in the dining room is where it’s at. Our server was prompt, funny, and made excellent recommendations. El Gaucho is the ONLY place to go for great steak in Tacoma.
