I specifically made reservations for Sunday so that my son and nephew could enjoy the Prime Rib dinner special that is only done on Sunday. When we were seated and asked to order, we were told there were only two end cuts left (at 7 pm). VERY Disappointing and the dinner ended up costing significantly more than I had anticipated.
Our dining experience was once again amazing at El Gaucho. They made an effort to move us to the booth we sat in a year ago when we eloped and had dinner there after. They were over the top with their amazing service. We will be returning every year if not more.
Steak diablo app!! Banana bread pudding is Devine! New York peppercorn is greater
Of all the nicer restaurants I have been to in the past year, this is by FAR my favorite. Love all the food we had. Doug and everyone else we interacted with - 6 stars! People throughout the restaurant greeted me by name! I can’t wait to go back! It was an experience and not just dinner. Nice job everyone!
We love the El Gaucho wait staff & feel like they are family. The food is always exceptional, service impeccable & a wonderful ambience.
Excellent food and service! The steak was fantastic.
Greeting desk did horrible job of first seating us next to piano while there were plenty of other seats. After we asked for a seating change, Then the lady took our menus without even talking to us and led us to the back of restraunt without notifying servers who should cover us. Had wait 15mins before I had to walk to the kitchen to get water.
However, the restraunt manager saved the day by personally serving us to make up.
Turned my mom’s visit from disappoint to a fully serviced and appreciated.
Guess in the field managemebr style works. Now definitelt retained confidence to host business dinners there again.
It was a Monday Business lunch . The restaurant was not very full so the noise level was fine. I have been here for dinner on a weekend with a full restaurant, and it can be quite loud. Food was fantastic!
El Gaucho offers a great experience and food. The facility is 5-star. The service is great. It's on the expensive side but great for special occasions. The bar scene is very good too. Give a kudos to our Server Manny.
El Gaucho is our go to restaurant for special occasions. It is a true dining experience. Pricey, yes, but worth the expense.
Had our 35th anniversary dinner at El Gaucho with Ruqayya Bala.
We are members of their Revelers Club. They give us a very generous anniversary deal every year.
Started with crab and shrimp salad.
For entrees, a Bone-in Frenched Rib Chop for me and Scallop and Prawn Linguine for my wife.
Rose petals on the table and a beautiful card signed by staff.
For dessert we shared our favorite Banana Bread Pudding.
After dinner they also serve an old fashioned platter of fresh fruits, nuts, cheese and crackers.
It was a wonderful evening with a very precious friend.
Every thing was wonderful as always.
I'm just never super impressed with the ambiance or the value for the food at this location. Service is always great, they can get you in and out in under an hour for lunch which is important.
A fantastic experience in every possible way. Food, wine, service and ambiance are 10 out of 10
We have been to El Gaucho many times and I feel like it has gone down in quality of food. I had to send my steak back twice to just get medium, and even then it’s just a dry steak brought in a boring plate. Our potato dish wasn’t ready at the same time as the steak so that was a miss. It was just ok. Not worth the high price.
This is one of our favorite steakhouses. They now change a 20% service charge to help deal with the minimum wage for Seattle even though we went to The Bellevue Restaurant
Another great dining experience with El Gaucho! Very attentive and professional staff, nice ambiance, and outstanding cuts of prime beef. Highly recommend the tableside Caesar salad, the filet mignon, and all of the potato sides.
Our Valentine’s Day date! And returning from India dinner!
The food was fine. The ambiance was good. A little noisy. But the big problem is the automatic onerous service fee. I had no idea that El Goucho had implemented the "service fee". I always tip a good server 20%. I had no choice in the matter. I've been dining at El Goucho since 1974 and I wont be dining there again.
Dinner was very good. Wait staff, particularly our waitress was excellent. Very attentive without being overly intrusive. good, quiet atmosphere.
Great place! It was just hard to hear the live piano player over all the ambient talking.
I will come here again soon.
This will be the very last time we eat at El Gaucho. Their food, their service, the way they supposedly pay their wait staff. We are done.
Family dinner with our 15- and 12- year old daughters. Table was ready! Customized for our anniversary/birthday celebration. Server was friendly and accommodating to our children. Wine list was strong, steaks were perfect as usual, and table along the perimeter was appreciated. Only con was the server at the table above us was loud and truly obnoxious while chatting it up with his tables. He probably didn’t realize his voice carries they the restaurant like a coliseum. Overall a dinner for our daughters to remember.
The waiter was amazing. The food fantastic. The small child seated next to us, that her family allowed to watch TV at the table without headphones virtually ruined the evening.
Love the place. My friend recommend me to go there for my birthday. Great service and food. Nothing to add. Will come again!
Sad. Used to be great dining experience. Service was slow, and our food was not only unremarkable, it was cold.
I did like the Toasted Coconut Martini.
Food was delicious
The best steak I've ever had. Great service.
Our service was exceptional, the waitress was great. We took our two high school age grandchildren, very nice evening.
We reserved via OpenTable for our anniversary. Our table was ready when we got there. The service was great, and so was the food. They added a number of special touches to make our date special. I would definitely be open to going there again.
The ny peppercorn steak was delicious. The rack of lamb itself was prepared the right way although a little on the salty side for the demi glace
Great atmosphere and very romantic. Food was great and the cherries jubilee was so yummy. Loved the flambe style
As always, great.
Had a great time. Food tasted good. Lots of tableside menu options. Service was excellent. Flaming sword of steak was cool.
Well staffed and great service. Steaks were amazing. Highly recommend the crap cakes off the appetizer menus, and the brussel sprouts off the sides menu.
A restaurant to impress! The service was top notch and the ambiance of a vital, busy, important steak house was a success. My date and I shared a very nice overpriced bottle of Turley Zin, a way over priced table side prepared Cesar salad ($30.00 for the two of us) the show/preparation was fun but the salad is a very basic Cesar, an 18oz bone in New York ($74.00) which was cooked and presented perfectly and roasted Brussel sprouts. 20% percent gratuity is not optional and was worth it. So I guess if you are on of those lucky ones with unlimited funds, a company expense account or you really want to impress someone, this is the spot. But as far as value, I would look elsewhere.
Love the restaurant, love the food, love the service but do not like the mandatory 20% service charge.
A longtime girlfriend and i planed this dinner for some time. We got dressed up and were looking forward to a elegant dining experience which should be expected with the price. We ordered a bottle of wine when we arrived and were seated at the reservation time. Our server took our appetizer order and that was the beginning of the end. After 45 minutes of no presence of our server and no appetizers, I asked to see the Manager. We were pouring our own bottle and wine and had almost finished it, waiting for our appetizers. The manager was very attentive and compassionate and went to see what the problem was. He said they lost the ticket. He comped our meal. We paid for our bottle of wine. However, it certainly but a negative energy around the whole evening, I'd rather have great service and food and pay for the meal. I will not go back.
The service charge model is very confusing. It made me think that I was being charged a 20% gratuity and could tip over that if I wanted and made no mention at all that the servers get 15% commission. The result is that I thought that I was tipping my excellent server 30% and then I thought I had stiffed him and finally, after searching for and reading a long blog entry about the service policy, realized that he got 25%. WAY too much confusion and tainted my experience a bit.
Not impressed. Way too crowded. Waiter put a moving table they use to prep food right behind my husbands chair. When we asked if it could be moved they said they had no where else for it. Wine glasses were dirty and food options were limited. For the price, not worth it.
