About El Farallon - The Resort at Pedregal
Tucked into the cliffs of The Resort at Pedregal and stocked daily with bounty from local fishermen, El Farallon is the most sought after dinner location in Los Cabos. Meaning “a rock that comes out of the ocean”, El Farallon has become a hallmark of exquisite dining at our luxury resort. Situated overlooking The Pacific Ocean, where Chef Gustavo Pinet sets only the best selection of local catch on mounds of shaved ice. Our fish experts will guide your selection with an old-fashioned scale that weights each choice.
Carved out of the rock appears The Champagne Terrace with a selection of over 15 different champagnes ranging from Blanc de Blancs to Rose to Vintage Champagnes. All you and your guests need to do is decide how many and what measure of each one you want. Eduardo Contreras, our Wine Director, and his team will be able to guide you through the process as well as help you learn about the champagne with a selection of imported cheeses and artisan salts.

El Farallon - The Resort at Pedregal Ratings and Reviews
This was our sixth visit to the restaurant and unfortunately we were not as wowed as usual. Our main dish was ok but the accompanying sides were disappointing. We enjoyed the appetizers but after the soup and appetizers we did not have room to really enjoy the entrees. Dessert was unremarkable. Of course the setting was beautiful and the service also excellent.
If you have not been you should definitely see the setting but next time we may eat at the other hotel restaurant instead of Farallon.
First the very positives:
Fabulous location and scenery. Driving through their rock carved tunnel was impressive. The waterfront seating a definite plus. The food was excellent and the service impeccable.
We made all efforts to arrive for our 5:30 "Sunset Experience" reservation and were there with time to spare. After confirming our reservation we were encouraged to visit the Champaign Bar and waiting area. After two very expensive flukes of champaign and waiting for another 20 minutes and missing the sunset, we were called. Not to our table but to another glass display counter featuring various selections of seafood and only two steak choices. There was also a chalkboard with a selection of sides to accompnay you main selection.
After another 5 to 10 minutes we were called and escorted to our table with perfect views of the ocean. We realized they sat us by the kitchen. Lot's of chatter and constant traffic. I would also like to mention that the very light wicker chairs on rough cobblestone were not very safe. The lady behind us fell to the ground as she attempted to leave her seat! Luckily, she was not hurt but very embarrassed. There was an excellent band playing but we could not see them due to our seating location. Finally, when I made the reservation I had mentioned this was a "Special Night " for us. We were told happy anniversary as we entered by the hostess and server. However, I expect an anniversary dessert ( I would have gladly pay for to see my wife smile).)
*Fabulous location, service, and good food.
Outstanding dining experience! Delicious fresh seafood; you can choose from several types. Creative and flavorful side dishes. Excellent service. An enchanting place at sunset. Live Spanish guitar group set the mood. Humpback whales just offshore. A memory we will treasure
This place never lets you down, it is amazing! It was my parents first time to Mexico and there is no better place to celebrate a vacation!
Side note: the value is absolutely crazy. Bread, soup, three appetizers, protein, two sides, and dessert. That’s not even talking about the incredible service, music, views, and sounds.
As always the food and dining experience was wonderful. I appreciate that they go out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions - in my case no dairy or animal products in anything served with my seared ahi. The mariachis were good too. Yes it’s expensive - around $300 for two people with a “cheap” bottle of wine - we had the Cab-Syrah from northern Baja which at $70 was the lowest priced red but it was lovely. I’d buy it at home if I could. We come back every year because this is a special dining experience.
We went here to celebrate our 40th Anniversary, and it was perfect!! It’s s little pricey but well worth it. I had been told they had someone performing great music but they didn’t on the night we were there. But still with the view and the food it was all incredible!!!
We had a 6:30 reservation, had hoped for earlier but not available. We were walked from the valet to the restaurant & the gentleman who was our guide took the time to show us some of the Pedregal resort & told us about the traditional Christmas decorations.
Although it was after sunset & already dark, the restaurant ambiance was lovely. We were treated to a beautiful rising full moon & fireworks during our meal. The food was not only excellent but there was a wide variety of tastes & textures. Three of us all ordered the freshly caught Mexican sea bass---mouthwatering. It was served with 2 sides & lots of extras including dessert. Our service was impeccable & everyone was very pleasant. Not inexpensive but worth the price.
I did some research before heading to Cabo for the first time and this place kept coming up as one of the best anencephaly it certainly didn’t disappoint. The resort itself is specracular and the rest followed in the restaurant, champagne bar etc. Definetly a must try. Would go back again for sure.
Probably the best all around dining experience that I have ever enjoyed! Our waiter Gerardo and his colleagues were very attentive and kind. Superb!! Ambiance and food was AMAZING!! Pricey but well worth every penny! We plan to return before we leave! This is a a definite do not miss experience when in Cabo!!
Dramatic setting and impeccable service create the backdrop for an unparalled experience. The shrimp and the ribeye were delectable. This is an expensive evening (corking fee is $50) so go in forewarned; however, we have been there 3 times with different visitors to Cabo and each couple was wowed.
This is definitely a special occasion or night out restaurant as it is very expensive. The food was great however, it is the ambiance and service that makes it a must for a special night out. Being able to sit and drink champagne with the stars out overlooking the beautiful water is worth the trip!
Another great meal ! We showed up on time and had to wait 45 minutes for our table , but when I spoke to the manager to express my displeasure , we were promptly seated and provided cocktails . No harm no foul ! The food was outstanding , great service by our waiter , spectacular place for a fine meal . Our favorite restaurant in Cabo .
The view and location can’t be beat. Our food was delicious but a few dishes were less than extraordinary — which was surprising to us given that everybody we spoke to about our trip to Cabo said we absolutely had to eat here. That said, service was wonderful and we enjoyed our meal.
