El Cortez Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar
Was good little patio. Think this place would be great for happy hour with their happy hour specials. Or Tuesday for taco Tuesday.
Back patio was great, inside would have been less great.
Bartender amazing. Very knowledgeable. Waitress great. Not a good spot for kids. Lots of noise.
Worst service I have had in a long time. The restaurant wasn’t even half full. It took an hour and a half from ordering until our food arrived to our table. There were 4 of us there, and they brought over TWO drinks on the house to apologize for the wait... what are 4 people supposed to do with 2 drinks? What a joke! Will NOT be going back any time soon!
Another great meal at Elcortez! Always friendly staff and delicious food!
Portions small, prices high.
It was okay. Very loud though and we were there early on a Thursday night
My Enchilada was amazing. Prompt and good service. The music was a bit loud, but the atmosphere was great.
Great staff, great food, great vibes! Love the atmosphere and how well we were treated!
I was disappointed that we were served Tostidos tortilla chips and a couple of homemade potato chips. I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants, and I was always served homemade tortilla chips, so I was very disappointed. I can make the same Tostidos and pico at home.
Food and drinks were significantly overpriced. Quality of food was ok but not worth what they were asking at regular price.
Always a pleasure eating here!
My friend and I throughly enjoyed our brunch at El Cortez. It was my friend’s first time there and she was very impressed. Both the food & service were excellent and we both plan on returning again. The only downside that prevents me from giving El Cortez a 5 Star rating was the ambience. The staff chose to play loud rap music at a Saturday brunch. There were lots of families with young children in the restaurant at the time and some the songs were not not age appropriate for little ears.
Top notch joint. Excellent food, with an extensive tequila menu, if that's your thing.
Delicious food but found us asking of a lot of things and the drinks were quite expensive
Food, drinks and atmosphere were awesome! We will be back.
Although the food and drinks were good and the service was fine, the noise level and energy level of the restaurant is a little off putting as you can hardly hear your own table conversation. Definitely for the younger crowd. But a fun place for Cinco de Mayo💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Really nice restaurant/ bar. The environment is fun and busy, and the food is really great. Went for my birthday and loved it. Also good for pictures.
Our server Jenna was fantastic. She was attentive and helpful with menu suggestions
Our first table was incredibly uncomfortable. Flat metal stools with angled edges that dug in after a few minutes. We requested a new table and they gave us a very comfy booth. The staff were all very sweet and friendly. The music was too loud for even our yelling to qualify as conversation. I wish they could have incorporated even A LITTLE BIT of Latin music in the mix for a better Mexican restaurant experience but hey...I like Snoop and Gaga as much as the next person. It just would have been nice. The food was tasty, but portions were small. Even after a starter and entree, we left hungry but we were anxious to go somewhere were we could hear each other. I'd definitely go again if I were with someone I didn't like or if I wasn't very hungry and couldn't get in anywhere else.
exceeded expectations food and drinks were spot on.
Experience was nice! It was a little bit loud and some of the drinks were a little expensive, but overall a nice experience!
Lovely setting, great food. Music in the restaurant was way too loud, especially given there is a DJ downstairs who can provide music at full volume if thats what you are looking for.
Had a great time, food was excellent and service was first class. We will be back.
Really kind of average in every way. Good just ok, drinks good, service was fine.
It was taco Tuesday 1/2 price which was great, otherwise I don't know if I would pay full price, otherwise not bad tasting, but my friend asked if any were spicy and she said that none were, and my friend is not able to have spicy food, it bothers her. The only one was the fish taco that was not spicy. The corn was very good.
It was very loud and hard to talk to my friends.
I may try it again
Had to take a star away for the store boughten nachos, but everything else was fantastic. Great ambience, great service, and great tacos!
The food and ambience great, our server was just awesome. Both tacos we tried were excellent! Lots of stuff to look at, a bit noisy for this old gal though.
ambiance is nice however portion of food per dollar and quality is not there
Amazing service. Had a reservation, quickly seated. Waitress was great. Helped us with Our choices as it was a first visit. Chips salsa and guacamole were amazing. Fresh! We had enchiladas and quesadillas. Delicious....Amounts were worth the monies. Ate the next day for lunch as well. We will be back!
Great food and had a great time. Love the cauliflower appetizer and the tacos are always yummy
I’ve been here before and raves about it but this time I was disappointed. I requested a booth and we did not get it so I asked when one became available if we could move, the hostess said yes. But as many booth became free she never came to move us. We had to sit at a high table with horribly uncomfortable shallow stools. It was stuffed in a corner under a speaker and tv. No cool or comfortable. My food which I normal love my beef came out extremely rare and I only eat well done so I didn’t eat my quesadillas. It was a disappointing dinner which makes me sad because I usually love this place.
Excellent food and atmosphere for birthday celebration. I was hoping maybe there would have been something offered free as part of birthday celebration.
I love the food at El Cortez, however the service we received Saturday night was awful. Our waitress was virtually non-existent and it took us over 20 minutes to even order our drinks - we had to flag down another waitress. It took about 60 minutes to finally get our food. There was bugs on the seat that we were sitting at. The manager was kind and did give us a discount for all of the troubles, but all in all I was just really let down.
The appies were Delicious, my tacos were just ok, tasted like they didn’t have much flavour and needed more toppings. It was super loud, not a place you go to have much conversation- we could barely hear each other.
Fresh and tasty. Lots of flavor without being too spicy. Only complaint and it is minor is it was cold in the restaurant.
The food was delicious, the beers tasty, our waiter amazing, and atmosphere very cool, but the music was so so loud we left and went to another neighboring bar for one more drink because we couldn't hear each other talk.
It was wonderful
We had an awesome meal! Everything was amazing! The Carnitas Al Pastor are to die for! Would highly recommend El Cortez and we will definitely be back very soon!
Unbelievable food and drinks! Great social atmosphere too!
