This multi-cultural Mexican heritage is the heart and soul of El Cisne Restaurant. Each dish and drink is prepared and served by our highly experienced staff in a modern contemporary setting that is both elegant and relaxed. We hope you enjoy your experience and thank you for visiting us!
My friend and I ordered the Tortilla Soup with added chicken (paid extra). The soup was very bland and watery. The only thing that made the meal enjoyable was our server, who went out of his way to please us.
The food is unbelievably awesome, the margaritas are fantastic, the staff is efficient and attentive and the price cannot be beat for quality food.
Great food, service! This fast becoming one of our very favorites!
We have visited El Cisne many times and at times it is very very good and other times not so much. Our waiter was very good, but my wife got the wrong order after waiting a extended amount of time for our food. Yes, the restaurant was busy, but by the time the food arrived we did not seem as hungry as when we came in. It was a long wait, so perhaps they were not prepared to be busy on a Thursday night. We will wait awhile before we go back.
El Cisne is always an enjoyable evening. The food and service are terrific.
Excellent service, Excellent food and quality food.
Best Chile Rellenos anywhere? A great spot for lunch or dinner.
The ambience is refined, understated. The seating arrangements are cozy, but still private and I could have a normal-level conversation during peak seating. With my mom, I split a combo sampler and everything was flavorful. Wonderful sauces. I had a nicely balanced House Margarita-nothing exotic or over the top- just really good. Split a honey topped flan, and service was attentive. I didn’t have to wait for anything. My waiter or other servers checked frequently. It was a surprise pleasure to meet the owner and learn of his expansion plans. I so wish he’d expand in Marana. I’ve been to all the popular Mexican restaurants and they’re all fine. But there is something special and intimate here. And so I will be back very soon to share this new favorite with my husband.
We found this place by chance and we ended up eating twice in a week. Brought friends with us second time. Great food and service! The homemade tortillas are delicious. We had a party of 8 and everyone loved their meal. Would definitely recommend this place!
We went to the restaurant on a beautiful evening and had expected nicer outside seating. The inside looks very nice but the outside was basically a few tables on the sidewalk next to a parking lot. The food was very good - not great. The traditional margarita i ordered was only ok.
We will return for sure. Everything was excellent. This may be the best Mexican style restaurant in Tucson and Tucson has a lot of great ones!!!
Food was outstanding. Server was very good. A little lacking in ambiance. We arrived at 5:30 p.m. and it wasn't too noisy, but was by the time we left at 7:30 p.m.. This is a very nice restaurant with a unique menu. Great for taking out-of-town guests. Skip the outdoor seating as it is too close to the parking lot.
The appetizer- mushrooms with chorizo- was quite tasty, served with a creamy salsa. I was a bit disappointed in my hockey mole. The mole was heavy on cloves, cinnamon and chocolate to the point that is was more of a sweet dish than a savory dish.
Great food and wonderful service. Give it a try!
Delicious food with a yummy twist. Far above usual Mexican food restaurants. We loved it and will definitely return.
Nice evening, they had a two person group playing music and they were very good and not loud at all, added to the ambience. Overall service was good, we were in and out in a hour which is good. The food was very good including the chips and salsa. Everyone in our party agreed.
Will be going back.
excellent food and excellent service…. a bit noisier than usual, though
We visit Tucson once per year, and this is always on our list for a visit. Genuine Mexican food with great service every time. I wanted different ingredients in the vegie chimichanga--no problem. Our server suggested a different set of ingredients and it was delicious. Drinks were excellent as well. I will say that on past visits (same time of year, same day of the week) I don't recall it being as crowded as it was this year. We made a reservation and when we saw folks waiting to get in, were happy we did so.
The company was better than the food. $38 for lunch, including tip, for two of us, and we split ONE marguerita. Food is pretty good, but for that price at lunchtime, I expect a lot more.
Excellent food and wonderful service. Have eaten here a few times. Will definitely eat here again. Also a plus for us and how we discovered them is that they are a sponsor of Arizona Public Media.
The food is sub par. I had the Chile relleno. The refried beans were tasteless and the rice, too. Lousy food.
Normally, I love El Cisne for the food and ambiance. The restaurant was very noisy this particular night due to a band and large group having a party in the front of the restaurant. We still enjoyed our experience.
Second time at El Cisne. The first was for dinner which was excellent! Based on that experience, we chose El Cisne to meet some out-of-town guests for lunch. Unfortunately, the lunch experience was far below the dinner experience. Service was extremely slow (restaurant was not at all busy), and the food, while okay, lacked the depth of flavors we had experienced at dinner. "Bland" is probably the best description. In addition to the lack of flavor, the flour tortilla of the fish tacos was soggy and broke apart when picked up. Ended up having to eat the tacos with a fork. The huevos rancheros lacked a sauce and was basically eggs with salsa and side of beans.
Promised to send my points for Open Table but didn’t. Place okay, food was okay. I’m not sure I’ll go back
The food was super salty. I ate 5% of my horrible tasting food. I told the waitress to take it after complaining and still charged me for it. Customer service is the worse.
One of my favorites!
Will definitely eat there again. The food was a good mix of Southern Mexican cuisine and the Northern Mexican cuisine that is typical for Tucson. I had the Mole and loved it, think about trying the Pisco sour as a drink.
We were pleasantly greeted, given a table and we ordered margaritas. Drinks and chips arrived and we ordered dinner. Our waiter completely disappeared after that. He had a large table away from us and it looked like he completely forgot us. The place was busy so we didn’t mind waiting for the food but we wanted a second drink and more chips but no one paid attention. When the waiter finally showed up with our food we complained and he tried to turn on the charm. He gave us a free desert to make up.
Wonderful authentic home made mole! We loved that the menu includes food from various regions of Mexico so there's a choice for everyone - even timid eaters who are afraid to try anything new. We were a mixed group of "foodies" and "fearful eaters" and everyone came away happy. This "foodie" was very happy and would return.
Went on a Friday night with friends. Food was excellent! I had the chicken enchilada and green corn tamale. My husband had the Chile relleno. YUM!!!! Fun with the Mariachi band also. Moderately priced. Great value.
We're wintering in Tucson and this evening is part of a series of stops at what have been described to us as Tucson's better Mexican restaurants. We've probably visited 7 or 8 and this combination of food, ambience and service ranks at the top. The obligatory chips and salsa were way above average, the chips thin and just salty enough, the salsa more lively than our previous encounters. That, together with what we considered reasonable pricing, made it clear - we'll be back1
You no longer need to drive to the south side or downtown for great Mexican food! Enjoyed our lunch here very much.
We went there for Valentine’s Day! We had reservations and we were promptly seated. They had a set menu with multiple choices. We had margaritas to start and then dinner. Our server was very attentive, even though the place was packed. The owner came by to ask us how we were doing. This place is a gem. Great food, great Margaritas and amazing service. We will be back there soon!
Food was awesome had the snapper and was perfect. It was the valentines menu. Want to go back for the regular menu
We have known Phil for about 20 years have never had a bad meal at one of his restaurants. We appreciated his coming over to our table and saying hello.
Open Table did not advise there was a set menu for Valentine’s Day. We stayed anyway. We were still in the middle of hardly warm appetizers, when our hardly warm dinner was brought, and the dessert within a minute of the entree. We had appetizers, entrees & desserts on our table - all at the same time! We’ve never been so blatantly rushed. This was the worst meal, service, ambience, we had in the Tucson area and we paid more than we should have, as well. No comparison to El Charro as open table & reviews suggest. Even let management know but they did not care. They were just trying to cram as many people in & make as much profit they could on the Valentine holiday. Very poor choice. Totally disappointed. Horrible dinner.
No service ! Huge wait times. Marinated Angus looked like a pot roast! Even came with carrots and potato! Shredded- absolutely not. Then tried to overcharge. Don’t waste your money.
Bait & Switch! We were looking forward to a Valentine's Day meal together, but the Price-Fix was in, for $44, with no options or alternative. We weren't warned of this when we made the reservation. So we walked out.
We went on Valentine's Day. It was a forgettable fixed menu and they were out of several items even though we had a 6pm reservation. Service was slow and food was mediocre and VERY expensive for what we received. Will NEVER go back!
