Prices seemed high compared to other restaurants serving the same or better food. $14 for two tacos is high (most Mexican restaurants serve 3 tacos for the same or less price), (plus it was an extra $5 for guac!). Nothing special or out of the ordinary. The fajitas were OK...not much meat, lots of veggies and not much flavor. It was a ho-hum meal.

The restaurant was vey nicely appointed. That is, it didn't have the typical collection of items hanging on the walls which is sold on the streets of Mexico. The wait staff is professional and attentive. I liked the food so well that I had to do a take-out today for lunch on an order of tortilla soup even though it's over 100 degrees outside. I have found my "Mexican Restaurant" that I will frequent not only because it's a comfortable place to be but also you're treated like you're home both with nice staffing and good food.

Took another couple out for their birthdays. They liked their food. My husband and I were not impressed. Some things too bland e.g., fish tacos; others overly spicy, e.g., refried beans. Asked if we wanted guacamole and sour cream on our entrees but did not inform that we would be charged $5 each to add guacamole and $2 for sour cream to our dishes. Only saw it later on the bill. Live guitar musician talented, but VERY loud. Hard to have conversation. Won't return.

This is one of our regular eating spots for Mexican food. They cover a lot of Mexico's regions -Sonoran, Oaxaca & Vera Cruz. The food and service have always been excellent.

Great food. Went there for Mothers' Day brunch. El Cisne was busy and festive but not jammed. The food was great. It was flavorful, but not too spicy. Service was without fault; our server did his job in a way to encourage the celebration and ambiance. Each portion of our order, including the lesser components was thoughtfully prepared and had a good flavor. Portions were quite ample, but that was second to the quality and flavor of the food. The shrimp cocktail could have been featured in a B+W film of a snazzy 1940s night club.

This was our first visit to El Cisne! The food was delicious! The menu featured several regions of Mexican cuisine. This helped us to step out and try something different. Not crowded or noisy during the early Friday evening period. Will definitely return!

We have always enjoyed El Cisne and decided to take two local friends out for dinner who had never been there. It was busy and pretty loud, but as always the service was great. Three of the four entree's were well-liked and enjoyed, but one had a cut of meat that was dry, very obviously overdone and almost un-chewable. At the end of the evening the server asked if we wanted a box for it but we didn't say anything, not wanting to spoil the vibe of the evening.
We would go back again, absolutely, BUT would not order that pork dish.

This was our second visit to El Cisne. People we knew recommended it highly before we tried it. On our first visit my meal was served tepid. Their efforts to warm it to an acceptable temperature only amounted to zapping the entrée in the microwave...the beans and rice were still tepid. The other 2 members of our first visit party were satisfied with their meals. Based on that we decided to give it a second try. I'd have to say it wasn't particularly exciting. My wife felt her enchiladas were good. My chimichanga seemed to have been fried in old grease...it had an off taste to it. The inside was good but overall it was probably a 2 on a scale of 5. I've had a very similar chimichanga camarone in other local restaurants that are much better. It would be a stretch to say we'd go back despite the favorable experience my wife has had during our visits

We enjoyed the food at El Cisne. When we chose the date, we didn't think about it being Cinco de Mayo, so it was very busy. The bar was a little slow, but otherwise the service was good. The live music was a plus.
The only bad thing is that like so many restaurants these days, you can barely hear the person next to you speaking.

The menu is upscale Mexican. The food was delicious! Our waiter was very attentive with a great sense of humor which enhanced our dining experience. There was also a classical guitar player that blended well into the atmosphere that allowed us to talk to our table mates without having to raise our voices. I would highly recommend El Cisne!

El Cisne offered our party of four diverse local food options in a relaxed and casual setting. The food is simple but very tasty. The service was good and suited the level of the restaurant. The evening was reasonably priced. Without alcohol, four could easily eat well for under $75. Ambiance was quite nice. Salads were excellent.

Food was great, for all seven of us. Unfortunately, even with a reservation, we waited at the door for 15 minutes before a female (owner) even acknowledged us. Then she said she needed time to set up our table (we had a reservation - there were only four occupied tables in the place at 2:00 pm in the afternoon!). We were seated 25 minutes after our 2:00 pm reservation, given menus, and then ignored for another 20 minutes. The waitress (owner) was behaving oddly, as though she could not handle the, now five occupied, tables. Granted, we were seven and another table was eight, there was no bartender... but five tables!!! I put myself through college waiting tables, this was not busy! It continued downhill from there: drinks ordered - 15 minutes. Ordered limes for one drink: 10 minutes later I went behind the bar and got them myself. Appetizers came out at the same time as the meals: approx 30 minutes after ordering. At this point we had a server that was obviously called in to assist with "the rush"; I'm not sure if he was not experienced or untrained, but it was finally so comical that we just had to laugh. Our meals came out in shifts: two, then two more, and finally the last one, approx 10 minutes after the first meal came out of the kitchen. The appetizers (cheese crisps) were nearly dropped in my lap; waited nearly 25 minutes for our bills (I had to hunt down the server); asked three times for containers for unfinished meals; no one would look us in the eye when we tried to get service or find out what the issues were... THE FOOD WAS GOOD!!!! Unfortunately, only one of the seven said she would return, due to service issues. Something was obviously going on; I cannot imagine that this is normal!

Always consistent with their food preparation. Their chile rellenos are the best that I've found in Tucson--light and flavorful. Their chiliquilles are also excellent as are their from-scratch Margaritas. Highly recommended!

Everyone at our table commented on how much they liked the food; especially the chile rellanos, which is one of my tests for good Sonoran food. I appreciate that they fry their own taco shells, rather than using the supermarket variety. Good salsa. Above average food, but a little pricey for what it is. The service was a little slow, but not terrible. I would go back.

it wasn't crowded the night we were there so we enjoyed a great mexican dinner in a quiet atmosphere that was great for conversation over dinner. The signature margarita was great and everyone in our party raved over the shrimp dinners. I would definately go again when we are in the Tucson area

We went to El Cisne to celebrate my husband's birthday. I rated this with two-stars, even though the service and ambiance were quite nice. The food was not up to my standards for Mexican fare, though. Our server was delightful and checked on us several times during the course of our meal. We enjoyed a decent bottle of wine, but for the cost ($36), I would have expected it to be better. The food was also quite pricey, especially given the portions. My husband enjoyed, but did not rave about, his meal, and my carne seca tacos were bland and spiceless. I am a Tucson native, and a connoisseur of Mexican food. This was nothing to write home about, and I will neither return nor recommend E.l Cisce to others based on my experience.

Valentines dinner with my terrific wife. Always greated here by the gracious proprietors. VDay menu was price fix with several great selections in each category. My wife had the beef and I had snapper both wonderful. We had a reservation but elected to dine in the cantina with bartender extraordinaire Sebastian. The cuisine here is authentic Spanish-Mexican and a delicious experience.

Went out for Valentine's Day. Made a reservation and got there early. We were seated right away as they had open tables. Then it took quite a while to get our drink order. Then our food order. Then our food came out. Each time it felt like it was taking about 10-15 min longer than it should. All in all, we had a three-course meal with a drink for $40/EA. It was a pricey date. I felt like it should have been about $50 maybe $60 with the margaritas. The vibe in the place was great though. Live music was cool. I'd consider it again, but not on a special night with limited menu like that.

Service was a disaster. We were there at noon and the restaurant was not busy.
We were a party of 3. Two of us placed our order. The third person asked the server to to come back as he was not ready to order. About 5-10 minutes later the server returned with the food for the two of us AND to take the order from the third person. My food was not what I ordered, and my plate was removed, leaving one person with his hot food. We encouraged him to eat. Five to ten minutes later the third person received his hot foot. I encouraged hime to eat while his food was hot. Five or so minutes after that I received my corrected order and ate pretty much alone.

The food was VG and we will give it another try.
