Great experience, unlike anything else I have done before.
The best restaurant that I have ever experience. The positive attitude of the chef is transported to the employees. Exquisite professional service, the creativity and quality of the food is exceptional.
Dinning at El Cielo is an experience that is out of this world.
Espectacular overall experience. The food: presentation, explanation portion and taste.
It was my birthday: we waited for 90 minutes to get our table and we were quite disappointed with the service.
Celebrated 23rd wedding anniversary with friends and had a very memorable evening
Such an enjoyable evening! We did "The Experience" and enjoyed 14 little plates of food poetry. Everything was delicious and thoughtful. The cocktails were exceptional too. My husband had the jalapeño margarita and it was incredible. We will definitely be back and try the regular menu. YUM!
It is a great experience and the food is just simply amazing!
Not worth it. The “Chocotherapy” on the menu is a joke, they pour chocolate onto your hand tell you to rub your hands and lick.. seriously? Why don’t you just give a shot on the side for drinking and do the hand part separate, hands are full of germs and there is no way I am licking my fingers in a restaurant even if it’s “part of the experience”. Plus at the very end they bring 2 rose petals with a tiny dollop of hand cream between them, it is redundant we already had a hand treatment before, I have enough products at home to my opinion there is no need to include that in a food menu to justify the price. Only 2 plates were good the rest was disappointing, took the pescatarian menu the scallop was too salty, the chocolate cake tasted like the ones you get from a box. All the plates were small, which was expected for a tasting menu, except this giant bread they bring and call “tree of life” so if you eat that you will for sure be full at the end of the meal to compensate the 2 courses that are for your hands.. We asked for an item not to be put on 1 plate for one of us they decide to remove it for all without letting us know. There Was also a mistake with what was brought to the table so we had to send it back. They have a “coffee show” at the end that is also a joke for coffee connoisseurs. Only Smoke and mirrors very disappointing and not worth the money.
Amazing food and best of service! Went for anniversary and couldn’t have asked for more! Affordable wine bottle options. Definitely recommend!!
Excellent experience, again!
JMB's is a culinary artist, with an uncanny ability to translate his artistic creativity into a gastronomic reality.
Difficult to evaluate every dish of the degustation menu, as each item has it's unique inspirational origin.
Key to remember, is that you're paying to visualize and taste JMBs vision.
What an amazing dining experience! Would and have recommended to all our friends. The staff and service was amazing as was the food.
Really good service, food was amazing.
Excellent experience. Definitely for a special occasion. It is very expensive and only pre-fixed menus are available: however, totally worth it. It really is an experience, a very interactive one. It was fun, and exciting. Would definitely go back. A foodies must!
Have already recommended several friends to share this unique experience with their special someone.
The experience was amazing! The food, the decor, the cocktails were wonderful. A great concept The only bad thing is that we had two waiters one was very warm and friendly but the other was too methodical, direct and I feel like I was in a hurry. Another negative point is that there was a lot of cold in the restaurant, we asked to turn up the temperature of the air conditioning as the food cooled very quickly, but the waiter told us that the air was automatic and could not be modified, in the end the host girl said that if the temperature could be raised, I was confused. Of rest everything excellent
Totally recommended! It wowed all my senses!
Incredible experience, worth every penny :)
I really wanted to give this gorgeous place 5 stars. The food was outstanding, service was attentive and ambiance was spectacular. What it is missing is more options on their wine list and plenty of wine in stock. They had run out of both our 1st choice, Shafer, or 2nd choice, BelleGloss, in stock. Normally we would’ve left at this point since this didn’t settle well with either of us. However, the Sommelier, Juan, was very apologetic and knowledgeable. He recommended a CabFranc blend, Justin’s Justification, which was to our liking. We decided to stay and we’re very glad we did. We will definitely return and hope to find more fine wines added to their selection and plenty of stock to pair with the delicious food.
This restaurant was a great experience, the place is beautiful and we got excellent service
Extraordinary culinary experience!! Food was excellent and it’s remarkable their skill to have a innovative approach. Wine list is very good. The service was good but confused two plates of the tasting menu but they were humble enough to leave the mistaken plate and bring the correct one. Totally recommended.
The food is absolutely phenomenal. We had the full experience and cocktails, and it was some of, if not, the best food I’ve had in Miami bar none. However, the service is not so great. The entire meal took us 3 1/2 hours. I understand prep time between dishes, but it took us 15 minutes just to get the check. The service was extremely slow, and the waiters did not do a great job of explaining the dishes at all. We had a hard time understanding them, and for a $400 tab for two people I would expect better for service. Especially considering the place is quite small. I would go again but the service seriously needs to improve. Go for the food, because it’s worth it - but know that the service is somewhat lacking compared to other high end restaurants in Miami.
A great experience, it will be nice to have more options. In our case there were just 3 options, but I wasn’t a fan of all the meats included.
When you go for the avant-garde style, I believe first and foremost the food has to be excellent.
This was not the case with El Cielo.
The dishes were served beautifully but the flavors never stood out. I can order over cooked pork tenderloin at a lot of other places in Miami.
For the price tag - I would not return.
It’s pricey but it is worth it for a wonderful evening. They take great care of you and the food is very good and unique. We will definitely do it again, but best saved for special occasions.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was the best experience ever. We’ve never been to this type of restaurant and we had so much fun trying all of the different and unique meals. Definitely a memory I will never forget.
I had high hopes for El Cielo before arriving in Miami.
Unfortunately the whole experience felt a little too focused on gimmicky over serving amazing food, and the hard sell on the genius of the 33 year old chef by the waiter felt highly contrived.
It was a busy night, and the restaurant itself was pretty cold in temperature.
We sampled "The Journey" menu, but a couple of the dishes listed were changed out, for what I assume is lack of availability of ingredients, which is fine.
The waiters had trouble talking us through the changed dishes, and most of what we ate was lukewarm at best, including the soup course. We struggled to get any real contrasting of flavours in the dishes, which have been really apparent at other molecular gastronomic restaurants we have had the pleasure of dining out at.
Based on El Cielo's website, and other reviews, we entered the restaurant expecting to be wowed, but left feeling sadly disappointed. Chalking it down to a bad night, but we won't rush back again in a hurry.
Bravo to the chef and all the employees of the restaurant extremely professional service attentive the chef created a work of art
An experience of beauty, senses, laughter an amazing tasting
El Cielo is an experience worth having. Right on the waterfront, the location is beautiful. It was a little confusing to get to due to some construction. We did the journey experience with one vegetarian in the group, who was greatly accommodated for. The food was great, some of the vegetarian courses were okay, but otherwise the food were great. The courses were all about different sensory experiences. Our server Juan was amazing and very attentive and accommodating. For the experience, it was the worth the price.
Fue una cena inolvidable especialmente porque estábamos celebrando el cumpleaños de mi esposo, la atención fue fabulosa, alto profesionalismo de todo los empleados.
Absolutely amazing. Their 10 course "journey" surprised and delighted at every course. Expect the unexpected. I'm not going to give you a spoiler, but this is a sensory, molecular gastronomy delight with a Columbian flair. They easily accommodated dietary preferences and kept the courses coming at an easy pace. From squid ink crusted crab cakes to a spectacular coffee and dessert finish. Each course was a visual and tasty morsel. They are developing a restaurant in my hometown of DC - I will make it a priority to go. This restaurant is NOT TO BE MISSED!!!
It looks like this restaurant is dying. Nice decoration, kind attendees with insufficient preparation to manage the service timing in a high level restaurant. On top of that, there were two tables occupied by people who looked like people with money with little education. That did not match the level in which the restaurant is positioned. We are very sorry about this experience.
Todo perfecto pero estaba muy helado y no era agradable estar sin chaqueta
Great and different experience, but I would not come back soon to try the same food
There should be an option to make people wanting to come back to try something that you did not try this time
Excellent food and presentation but very noisy and difficult to hear waiter. Also, the staff was very inexperienced re: wine selections.
A truly memorable and amazing culinary experience. I was there celebrating my birthday and they made it special. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Great experience. Love it!
Expectativa y sorpresa totalmente diferente hay que venir si te gusta la comida no hay más que decir es una experiencia sensacional
I have been to many michalen star restraunts. I have worked with many chefs and have been in the hospitality industry for many years. This was a slap in the face to anyone who has worked for a star. The service was the worst I have ever gotten. The waiter was very poor in english and neither myself or my husband knew what we were eating. It was overall awful and not worth the money.
Overpriced and underwhelmed!
Fantastic food, unexpected but delicious combination of flavors - and textures-. Definitely visiting again!
