El Chile Cafe Manor
El Chile Cafe y Cantina offers a combination of Tex-Mex and Interior Mexican cuisine.
El Chile was fabulous as usual.
Drinks were delicious. We went during HH so they were reasonable and honestly decently strong. So one had us tipsy. Food was great. Our server was great. Overall was a great time!
Mother’s Day outing, party of five. Food was wonderful, service a bit slow, but not enough to be an issue. Only complaint was the number of huge—HUGE— flies everywhere.
Took over an hour to get our food. When we asked they said, “there was a problem in the kitchen.”
This is one of our regular favorites. My only complaint is the atmosphere is so noisy you can barely carry on a conversation when seated inside.
The food was OK, but didn’t really warrant the prices. The drinks were of similar caliber to the food. Wait staff was pleasant but a little slow.
Best enchiladas verde ever.
Not traditional Mexican
I had the quesadilla and it was very fresh and yummy.
Great brunch options and the cantelope margarita was amazing!
Great staff and food
Third time in less than a month - service, food, and drinks were all good. The only issue is sitting inside can be very loud - need to add some sound dampers.
Nadia was a great server. We sat outside and the food was just as amazing as the experience (even though it was pretty nice outside there were blankets and heaters in case we got chile (get it haha)). Loved it!
Food very fresh, beer very cold. Shrimp tacos and ceviche were delicious.
Food and ambience is solid - we really enjoyed it. The service, though very nice and pleasant, was some what slow which was a little annoying but not terribly bad by all means. Brunch for 2 included 2 appetizers ($21), 2 entrees and an ice tea cost $86 with tip. Good food but a little pricey
Great happy hour prices on drinks, love the queso flameado. But, service is incredibly slow and incredibly lacking. The tables are small, and dirty or finished dishes are left on the table after water refills (once asked for) come by. I'm disappointed in the experience, because I've always been a fan of the food here.
Amazing drinks. Great happy hour. Love the food
Casual dinner with a friend and the food was great! It was really loud inside the restaurant, not sure if it’s always like this or not. There was a really loud party where two groups moved away from them. They have an outdoor patio that looked really nice it was just too cold when we were there to eat outside. My friend said the cantaloupe margarita was delicious!
We liked the space...lunch crowd was quiet. Barbacoa and chicken in dishes was exceptional! "Salsas" with chips were different, interesting. Nicole provided great and fun service.
Wow! What an amazing lunch experience! We had a party of 10 for a business lunch and everything went well. At least 3 of us ordered the Enfrijoladas which is an amazing tasting and creatively (beautifully) presented meal! We highly recommend making a stop here!
Great experience! They had our table ready when we arrived, attentive service, quality food and drinks. Happy hour deals even on Saturday! Would definitely come back.
El Chile was amazing - as usual. We love going here for Happy Hour, Brunch, or Dinner. Fantastic food, drinks, setting, and service. It has been a favorite of ours for 10 years.
The place is noisy so if you are wanting a conversation, go some where else. Also, if you want an outdoor table, put it in the notes for your reservation. We had a reservation for 6 pm and there were plenty of open tables outside, but since we didn’t specify outside on our reservation, they would not let us have one. I told the hostess that it wasn’t an option on the form and she acted like I was stupid for not knowing to put it in the notes. She is the reason I gave the restaurant such a low rating. I have eaten ther probably 50 times and never encountered that sort of rudeness. It was insulting, especially since we were crammed into a corner by the window and I could see that there were at least a couple of empty tables on the patio in the hour and a half we were there.
The food is always great, but the noise inside is so bad. I don’t think I will go back unless I can sit on the patio.
Love coming here with out-of-town friends, nice staff, nice environment. Always a great experience.
Had dinner with guests from out of town. We all found our meal to be absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back.
Great food. Service is always friendly. The patio is nice.
Hostess was rude over and over. Very cold and unfriendly or uninviting. She seemed very put out!
El Chile is one of our very favorite Mexican restaurants- we especially like the mole, the two very different hot sauces served with chips, and the margaritas. For a change up this time I ordered Mina’s, and they were excellent. We usually enjoy eating on the patio, but it was too cold this time. Inside ambience was fine, also.
There was no one there, but we had a great meal. Thanks!
Margs are the best!
If you haven’t been to El Chile During the Christmas holidays you may Want to check it out this week. They make a beautiful Chili Relleno with Almond Sauce that is DELISH! Always something to look forward to at one of my favorite restaurants in town.
The food was great, staff was friendly and accommodating.
It was a great place to take our kids.
We were a party of six and they had no trouble on a Saturday morning attending to us.
I definitely recommend ElChile Manor to others. We will be back.
First time visitor and I'll definitely return! I arrived on a windy day - it was quiet and the staff were super nice. Be careful with parking. Due to the fact it was my first visit, upon arriving, I totally missed the "University of Texas parking only" signs. There's signs that say there's parking across the street but I didn't see it. That's my fault and nobody elses. Great food! Great service! Great location!
Wonderful food and service.... part of our group was running late do to traffic but our server held our table and was very kind......and the mole was perfection!
Wonderfully accommodating to a large party including a toddler. Good food, great drinks, and wonderful service.
Love El Chile, but found it annoying that they sat us inside despite my request on the reservation for outdoor seating. They said it was because of our party size, but I’ve walked in with the same size before and been seated on the patio.
They worked to accommodate our party of 8. Great Margaritas and good Mexican food. Love their queso.
I was happy to bring a colleague and 2 guests to El Chile, my favorite Mexican restaurant. All were happy and were sharing news with friends, encouraging them to visit El Chile. Feliz quinciera, El Chile!
