Table was ready when we arrived. Everyone was courteous and the food and drinks were amazing! Definitely we’ll be back. Thank you!!!
We have been a number of times on a Sunday afternoon for brunch, I think they serve brunch until 3. Over the last few times, service has been really good and much improved. Food quality is excellent, portions are good sized and more often than not, we get a “to go” box and get another meal! I personally prefer to dine outside, I think it’s more relaxing and less noisy. El Chile is one of my Eastside favorites!
Food was cold and over seasoned.
Disappointed that there was no Tres Leches Cake; VERY LOUD; need to have 1/2 orders of nachos; Beef Picadillo was disappointing - tasted like chili.
It's one of our go-to's, significantly influenced by Prickly Pear margaritas.
My mother-in-law was visiting and I made reservations for our family to have dinner. Their AC was broken, but the staff did not tell us this until after we had been seated and began to order, after we inquired about it. It was cooler out in the TX heat than in the restaurant!! The waiter said it was cooler in the kitchen! The place looked like it could use a good washing and our table was sticky. The waiter was lovely, very nice and kept refilling our glasses with ice water. I had the red-mole chicken with beans and rice. The food was okay, but I had higher expectations for an $18 meal. The rice was a bit mushy, their “fresh” tortillas tasted re-warmed. It took them a good 15-20 minutes to bring out our food, which felt like an eternity given the heat. I had high hopes. Maybe it was an off-day for them. My advice: check the AC is working before you go, don’t count on the tortillas being as fresh as you might like, and know the food is okay, but not remarkable. Heck, maybe you just want to have drinks with friends and the food is secondary. Our girls (6
and 13) were good sports about the heat and my mother-in-law kept reassuring us it was fine, even as she kept drinking ice water and wiping her brow. Would I recommend you go? Sure. Just keep your expectations in-check and hope for the best.
Bright and comfortable interior setting. The food was fresh and delicious. Wait staff was efficient and friendly.
We eat here often and love the quality of food and cocktails. Their happy hour has some good prices, that is usually when we go.
I much prefer to eat outside, inside is too loud for me. With the fans outside, it was tolerable yesterday when the temp was 92.
Very good food, good drinks. Unfortunately it took quite some time to bring out the drinks.
We loved the food and the atmosphere here! I also had a cocktail and a very hard time passing up on dessert. I need to go back!
A very cute traditional Mexican cuisine spot. They have a great happy hour and plenty of parking!
Friendly staff, great food, and a good variety.
My favorite new place. Great food and drinks at lunch.
Always a nice time at El Chile!
It was perfect that they had a table ready right when we arrived!
Nice quaint energetic burst of Austin! Fajitas were tasty (thank you for the spice!) and servers friendly! Great vibe--lots of energy!
Out server Victor was amazing. Attentive & went above and beyond for my group of 10. Will definitely be back
It is a great, lively place to have dinner with friends.
Friends and I ate her twice during our 5-day stay in Austin to attend the NCAA track championships at UT. Great food, wonderful margaritas, and extremely good service - will definitely go back the next time I'm in Austin!
Good food great place excellent food!
Love this place, but the flies are out of control!
El Chile was fabulous as usual.
Drinks were delicious. We went during HH so they were reasonable and honestly decently strong. So one had us tipsy. Food was great. Our server was great. Overall was a great time!
Mother’s Day outing, party of five. Food was wonderful, service a bit slow, but not enough to be an issue. Only complaint was the number of huge—HUGE— flies everywhere.
Took over an hour to get our food. When we asked they said, “there was a problem in the kitchen.”
This is one of our regular favorites. My only complaint is the atmosphere is so noisy you can barely carry on a conversation when seated inside.
The food was OK, but didn’t really warrant the prices. The drinks were of similar caliber to the food. Wait staff was pleasant but a little slow.
Best enchiladas verde ever.
Not traditional Mexican
I had the quesadilla and it was very fresh and yummy.
Great brunch options and the cantelope margarita was amazing!
Great staff and food
Third time in less than a month - service, food, and drinks were all good. The only issue is sitting inside can be very loud - need to add some sound dampers.
Enjoyed this place. Food was flavorful and service was nice.
Nadia was a great server. We sat outside and the food was just as amazing as the experience (even though it was pretty nice outside there were blankets and heaters in case we got chile (get it haha)). Loved it!
Food very fresh, beer very cold. Shrimp tacos and ceviche were delicious.
Food and ambience is solid - we really enjoyed it. The service, though very nice and pleasant, was some what slow which was a little annoying but not terribly bad by all means. Brunch for 2 included 2 appetizers ($21), 2 entrees and an ice tea cost $86 with tip. Good food but a little pricey
Great happy hour prices on drinks, love the queso flameado. But, service is incredibly slow and incredibly lacking. The tables are small, and dirty or finished dishes are left on the table after water refills (once asked for) come by. I'm disappointed in the experience, because I've always been a fan of the food here.
Amazing drinks. Great happy hour. Love the food
