El Chile Cafe Manor Ratings and Reviews
We originally booked for a group of 9. We needed to increase to 12 and they accommodated us with no problem. We even had our own private room. We got there at 6 and after ordering, realized the show we were attending was at 7 and not 8. The kitchen and our server were very helpful and rushed everything out. I wasn't blown away by the food, but it was tasty and plentiful. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant and the quick and freindly service! Kudos!
Randolf was the MAJOR issue here. His rudeness and absence of hospitality and service may cause me to never return to this establishment. I would appreciate a call from the ownership and management as I'd like to detail, in full, how unwelcomed we felt. We did not tolerate or endure the treatment. Instead, we left and went to another establishment nearby.
First time at this restaurant that I chose for Mother's Day -- was not disappointed. Food was good, corn tortillas were excellent! The caso was a bit watery and the tortilla soup tasted like enchiladas -- was not my favorite but I will return to try other entrees and appetizers. The house frozen margarita was excellent!
El Chile is my favorite place, and for 10 years I've brought every out-of-town visitor I've had there. The food is consistently delicious and beautifully presented, and the service is always excellent. I haven't had a bad meal there, though I have a hard time not ordering the Enchiladas de Cameron because they are so very delicious. The only thing that could be improved is the noise level. It's definitely noisy both inside and out, but it's worth dealing with that for all the other good things.
Everything was great (food, service, value) except the noise level. We were seated inside with a group of 8 and it was impossible to hear anyone unless they were seated in the next chair. There is nothing to absorb sound in the small indoor restaurant space.
The food was very good, especially the queso, but the noise inside made it very difficult to carry on conversation. It negatively impacted our experience as we were trying to get to know a friend's new significant other who wanted good Mexican food while in town. We had to shout just to communicate anything.
We would still come back, though maybe on a less busy night.
I wish I had read Happy Hours' review that margaritas were good but food poor. What a disappointment!!! There needs to be a "star rating reduction" to further warn people. I love Mexican and Southwestern--spicy or not. The 2 sauces they brought for the chips were not palatable and I had to ask what they were. Charred pepper? and carrot "something?" I had to order a side of pico de gallo and asked if they had ANY hot sauces. They didn't. Ordered a stuffed poblano with pork. VERY mediocre--lots of meat, no flavor and not a great pepper. Staff nice but nothing else.
We eat at El Chile about once every 2 months and always enjoy the food. The sauces served with the chips are unique and very tasty. This trip we enjoyed the pollo con mole rojo and the chile relleno as well as some delicious guacamole. The relleno won the prize for best entree. My only gripe was that our frozen margaritas were served to us in hot glasses so they promptly melted.
