El Centro D.F. - Georgetown
Reaching back to his roots, internationally acclaimed Chef Richard Sandoval created El Centro DF to introduce Washington DC to signature authentic Mexican flavors and traditional dishes that he grew up enjoying. The dynamic two-story restaurant in Georgetown, with a back patio, is also home to over 300 tequilas, mezcals alongside craft Mexican-inspired drinks.

I would recommend this place all year around!! Food is so good and kid friendly.
We've been to El Centro D.F. for bottomless brunch a few times and always had a good experience! This time, drink service was slow (maybe got 4 drinks over 2 hours, and had to flag the server down each time to do so) and food was very delayed coming out or missing. Experience was fine, but will probably look elsewhere next time.
Wasn’t blown away by the food but nothing was terrible. Margarita was too sweet and didn’t taste natural... not a ton of vegetarian options. The tamale was too sweet to eat the whole thing. We were seated quickly despite not having a reservation.
Staff was wonderful and food was fresh and delicious.
Waiter was very rude. Hispanic guy with a bandana around his arm. I don’t recall his name. He had he was going to take my ID to the back and scan it because it didn’t look like me. Then when ordering the drinks he said guys I’m giving you back the IDs and he didn’t take them to the back. Like was he trying to scare me? I told him It doesn’t look like me? He said no not at all. And I was like he take it go do what you have to do and he said no it’s ok. I never had a person in all my life say I’m taking your ID to the back to scan it. Poor customer service from the guy. So after we just walked out.
Haven't been to El Centro for some time - our group (10 people) all did bottomless brunch on Cinco de Mayo - they did insist on the 2-hour limit, which we completely understood because of the holiday. All the food was spectacular and kept coming, and coming, and coming! Our waiter Alberto was a rockstar, memorizing everyone's orders and remained attentive the entire time. The seafood enchilada is wildly underrated, and the churros are the perfect ending. They even handed out little maracas to celebrate the holiday! One small note - their prices seemed to have raised for bottomless food/drink from $35 to $39. Well worth it still in my opinion, but good to know going in. I like the service here significantly better than the 14th street location. All in all, a great experience!
I've eaten at El Centro in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, in the two hours that my group was seated yesterday, we were only served one round of drinks. The food was great and our server was fantastic, but overall it was definitely not worth the price of unlimited food/drinks for what we were served.
Overall, this was a poor experience. This is my second time visiting El Centro and I have been disappointed on both occasions (at the 14th street location and Georgetown location). Brunch was terrible. The food was not good and the mimosas were mostly orange juice. The margaritas were decent, at best. Waiters appeared lost and we received late food and food that did not belong to us, throughout our visit. I will not return and will not recommend this to anyone.
Hostess stand had mediocre greeting/service to start. The restaurant had plenty of tables for my party of 3 but they said without a reservation there’s only bar seating. So I made a reservation on the spot on OpenTable. Our server was great! And the kitchen staff too. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy. Manager came around and that was nice.
Great food and service! All you can eat/drink is always fun! They kept the drinks coming! :)
Food was great but my waiter ruined the brunch due to his horrible attitude. Reluctant to bring drinks and barely checked in on our table.
Their brunch offering is awesome and totally worth every penny; if not only for the brunch cocktails!
Delicious food, nice environment.
The service was really bad. It took a long time to get your drinks or the server would forget to put the drink orders in which really slows down the unlimited drink special. The drinks were also all very weak. They’re unlimited because they have no alcohol in them. The food was okay it came out a lot quicker than you’d expect but the food wasn’t anything special. The tacos were not good we tried a few different types and I was unimpressed.
El Centro used to be great, now there is dripping water from the ceiling. The food was disgusting and service was passive aggressive. Sad to see what’s happened to this place.
Amazing brunch!! Tacos were on point- chicken tinga was nice and spicy, steak was tender, chorizo was delicious. Empanadas were awesome, and the churro to top it all off was perfect. Drinks were great too, and you can't beat the price! Will definitely go back when I'm in the area
The wait was pretty long for a reservation (20-30 min) but once we were seated the service was pretty good and the food was great!
The service was terrible. Our server forgot to put in our order 3 times. Took the fun out of the brunch experience
Great server. We had to leave and cancel our bottomless brunch...took 30 minutes to get our first drink, one of which had a plastic wrapper in. I think it may have been too busy but very bad brunch experience for all of us.
Food and drinks were good but they can be better with the service. Service was really slow
we enjoyed our meal at DF very much. We were visiting DC and staying in Georgetown - it was authentic and delicious cuisine .
Went for bottomless brunch. Food and drinks were great and the servers were very attentive.
Me and my friends never been there before then my friend she got recommended from someone it's a nice place. So for me I'm not impressed with that because of noise, I understood is restaurant everyone wanna talk & chill but you should turn down volume of the music as well. Both of people & music noise were interrupting. Second food was worth, my friend ordered salmon dish then she got salmon, a lot of red onion and corn. You know price not cheap but you food so cheap. My dish wasn't bad. For the last thing I remembered food was slowly coming, table next us came after us ordered all of food but they got everything before. I think it's a one & last time for me to went there.
Service was awful, it took 25 minutes to get a drink. Food quality was terrible as well. Do not recommend to anyone who wants a good brunch.
Just went for Saturday brunch and unfortunately we were late (bad traffic, happens). Once we arrived it was a bit of a longer wait though I gave a heads up. As a former hostess, this was kind of annoying but I’m also understanding. So we were seated 1 hour after our reservation started, and we were so hungry. We were thinking of ordering right away, but our server didn’t come to the table for 20 minutes. There was a large ish party next to us so we get it, busy for her. But we didn’t think we’d get our water 40 minutes after being sat and asking 3 times. We got our food before we got water. This experience left a lot to be desired. We were brought the wrong food and service left before we could say “this isn’t ours!” I felt like we weren’t important as a party of 2 compared to the table to my left was so large and getting the team’s attention. I’ll be back to El Centro for dinner, I don’t think for brunch though.
Had friends in town and went to the upstairs patio bar before our reservation. The woman who was bar-tending was really great- friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, some customers came in a few minutes after us and were so rude to her- she had to ask them to leave, they were being difficult, a manager got involved and they finally left. Glad it got handled but still felt bad those guys were rude. She went on a quick break and we were stuck with the other bartender. I don't know his name, he hardly helped us. He clearly did not want to be there. We asked for guac and chips and nearly rolled his eyes. Don't think that's a difficult request at a Mexican restaurant. We also needed more chips and I really didn't want to bother him but we needed more and he exhaled was like 'ughh' sure. Again, not a huge ask but apparently so. We noticed other customers having issues with him. He didn't acknowledge some guests, were short with some, and provided no customer service. It was about 6:30 when we got there and on a beautiful Saturday night, he had a long evening ahead of him. At one point we suggested a group go inside because this guy was no good. I don't think he was having a bad day, he was just a bad bar-tender. Might be back but have always had mediocre service at that bar. Our waitress when we sat down for dinner was so great! filled out waters, was nice, food came at a good time, etc. Just bad bar experience.
El Centro was my go to brunch spot. I love the atmosphere, the food, the mimosas everything. However this past weekend was disappointing. I had not been in a few months, the price increased and the mimosas they were serving taste like straight orange juice.
Loud but fun
The food was really fresh. Guacamole is a must - it was great.
It was a great experience. Food was good, drinks tasty. We will be back soon!
Introduced some out of town family to brunch here, and it was excellent as always. Our server was awesome!
Overall, food was pretty good. The supreme guac was a tasty twist (corn, bacon, pumpkin seeds, queso fresco). Their tacos were great. The ceviche was more like cold shrimp soup (lots of liquid, not acidic enough). And the chile relleno was pretty decent. The service was friendly and attentive, several staff tended to us.
El Centro is one of my favorite brunch places in town. I enjoy the unlimited food and drinks at a cheaper price than most placesq. I haven't been in a long time but I thought the price was $30 but it is not advertised as $39 just as a heads up. The service was good food was good too. Overall pleasant experience.
Awesome service, got our food and drinks quickly; kind of loud but understandable at happy hour
Service was lackluster, food would come out in waves and sometimes not at all. Overall, a good bottomless brunch.
Thought I didn’t try to bottomless brunch I felt that my expirnces wasn’t superb
The usually nice and enjoyable restaurant is transformed during brunch hours to sardine as many tables and people into it as possible, making the noise level a very steady and mumbled roar.
I was there with one other person and we both selected the bottomless brunch option. All started off well. Soon our waiter became neglectful, and entirely passing our table without acknowledgement, while continuing to acknowledge both tables to our right and left.
The food is a different and lower quality than the usual restaurant hours, and many dishes were lacking in flavor and seasoning.
Four times our drinks orders were wrong, while being told the drink I was given was indeed the drink i ordered—it wasn’t.
Towards the end of our stay, we were lucky enough to find another waiter who was kind enough to see our experience there end on a slightly more pleasant note. She closed our tab out and FINALLY delivered the correct drink I ordered after our bill was paid.
I wouldn’t recommend brunch at El Centro. I’m a very adamant brunch goer, and there are so many restaurants in this area that set the bar so much higher than here, and have great service and are worth the $40 ticket.
Service was TERRIBLE. The $40 you waste on unlimited brunch is not worth it due to how bad the overall service is. will not be going back.
Brunch was dope
