Join us for bottomless Easter brunch!

Very loud bar atmosphere. Young crowd. Bad, watery margaritas. Food was decent but expensive, especially given the downscale feeling of the place. Think of it more of a bar than a restaurant.
Guacamole was the best I’ve ever had. Very good. The enchiladas were average.
This place never disappoints
The kitchen staff here is amazing! They nail the food every time! We keep coming back for the guacamole and tacos! The service is ritualistically awful with no attention to detail. The overall experience isn’t good, but the food is quick and tasty. I can’t say enough good things about the kitchen. I would stop coming back if the food wasn’t so good. Back of the house keep doing what you’re doing!
Great Mexican flavor; great quick service and quiet atmosphere.
The value was great but the service was very poor which was disappointing since it was my birthday. When you order bottomless brunch you expect to get refills but our waiter was very slow and had hardly any energy to be working a Sunday brunch. He kept flirting with two girls at another table and hardly served us. The food and drinks were good when we finally got them.
Food was terrible
Probably the best Brunch in D.C.
This was my first time eating in downtown Georgetown. The atmosphere of the restuarant was cool and lively and the service was quick and attentive. Food was so so awesome and worth the high prices. Drinks were absolutely terrible—don’t waste your money. Overall, not outstanding, but a good experience
The tacos and calamari were amazing!!!! Love this place! Will definitely return when we are back in town.
We waited 45 mins for the table and had a reservation. The hostess kept saying 5 more minutes. She sat us with out menus. I spoke with the manager and gave no compensation. This wasnt my first time going to el centro i was very disappointed. Dont plan on going back, and its sad because i do enjoy the food and drinks!
The waiter didn’t follow up with our food or drinks. He incorrectly assumed someone had gave them to us when we had not received food 40 minutes into reservation. When prompted, the waiter did not immediately get our drinks or food, but apologized. Eventually food gets brought out with a horsefly on it crawling around. Despite being bottomless food, they thought it would help to bring us a lot more food we didn’t order without bringing the stuff we did order. No offer of taking items off the bill. Eventually after we got the check we got food we had ordered 10 minutes into the reservation.
Went for bottomless brunch but when it takes 20-25 minutes to get your drinks, it hardly seems worth it.
Food was great as always.
The food was amazing but the service was not up to par. First, our food took so long to come out. Almost an hour went by before we got our first plates. Secondly, our waiter kept forgetting items that we had placed. We would have to remind her multiple times of what we had ordered. Thirdly, on one instance my friend was trying to clean the table and handed the server some cups as to which she responded “What do you want me to do with these?”.
The bartender was amazing - her service was really appreciated since our server’s was terrible and honestly not acceptable.
I’m blown away by El Centeo’s service. Our waitress, unfortunately I forgot her name, was incredibly friendly and quick to bring our food and drinks. Above all, when I got gum on my pants from a previous diner who left their gum under the table, the waitress spent 15 minutes successfully getting the gum off of my jeans. I’ve never had a waitress go so above and beyond. She rocks and I hope she gets some recognition for her impressive service.
Very happy with our service, the quality of our food, and our happy hour margaritas! A little pricy for the size of the entrees but I would definitely come back.
Great food, greater drinks to affordable prices. $5 happy hour margaritas, worth the money (lots of alcohol). Best guacamole I've ever had.
Normally good service, last visit not so much.. waited about 30 min to order drinks.
Good vibe, popular, makes it a bit noisy. Killer place for hanging out with friends.
It was really yummy! The guac and tacos are unbeatable.
Food was great, but wayyy too noisy.
Went for brunch, drinks were decent. Food was very mediocre. The chips and guac were good.
Some of the food came out cold, the server was incredibly weeded, and the drinks were terrible. It took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks, even longer for the second. The idea of bottomless brunch for $35 really only works if the restaurant is staffed adequately enough. Our server mentioned that her busser disappeared, which is really unacceptable during a brunch rush. Either way, never coming here again. Sorry El Centro, stick to the bar/club business.
While the food was delicious, the poor service and the fact that many of the dishes we ordered never made it to the table took a lot away from the experience.
The food was very tasty !! So cute and perfect walking distance from local Georgetown bars. We had a great experience.
Had a wonderful time! Service was great and very prompted. It's was a nice Sunday brunch.
Worst service I’ve ever had. A waiter spilled mimosa everywhere when refilling my glass, left, and never returned to clean up the spilled liquid. It just sat in a puddle on the table for the rest of the meal. We ordered a dish when our waitress first visited us, and when we left an hour and a half later we still hadn’t received it. This is after reminding her three times throughout the meal that we hadn’t gotten it yet. We had to fight to flag down someone whenever we wanted anything. The service was so spectacularly bad, it ruined the meal. The food was good, but no food in the world is good enough to make up for such garbage service.
Awesome for a ladies brunch date!
I really like the food here! I've been twice and both times the food has been fantastic. The guacamole is amazing! The street tacos are great. That being said I'll be back for the food!
Both times I've been here the service has been awful. This time more than the last. The last time we were here the server was outgoing social and easy to talk to, but we could never find her. This time the server lacked personality, knowledge and skill. I saw him from across the room standing by the computer while we waited for about 5 minutes to be greeted. When he arrived we placed our entire order with him at once. We ordered the tequila tasting, guacamole and the hanger steak tacos. The sever took the time to go behind the bar to find out which tequila infusions they had. He told us they had everything, sure enough they didn't have one of the infusions we ordered. By the way, the tequila infusions were awful! The tequila used was cheap. Stay away from them!
The tacos and guacamole as I said were great! The food arrived and we had finished the tacos and the majority of the guacamole before we received our drinks.
In my opinion the lack of attention to details by the server and the staff made the quick meal we had lackluster. Details that i noticed that could have been improved: the chair at our table didn't match the rest of the room's chairs, the candle on our table was out and every other table in the room was lit, the server forgot to take the menus with him after we ordered, he also never introduced himself, not having the infusions after saying they did and the drinks taking about 10-12 minutes to come out (but the food came out in about 6-8 minutes! Very impressive!)
As I've said, we will be back for the food, but at least we will know not to expect hospitality just below par service.
I love El Centro, if you look at my past reservations, you will see that I regularly dine here. However, this was my first-time at the Georgetown location. My reservation was for 3:30 PM and we were seated on the back patio in the rear of the building. First thing that we noticed was that it was EXTREMELY loud, there were very few tables out there, the noise was due to the music that was blaring from the speakers. It was unnecessary to have it that loud, we could barely hear each other. Had we stayed, I would have asked for it to be turned down. More on that in a minute. The second thing that I noticed was that it was extremely hot, while I know that it is February and being out on a patio, you need some heat lamps. Again, this seemed to be overkill and it was extremely unpleasant. Again, had we stayed, I would have asked to either be moved or to turn down some of the heat lamps. Now to why we didn't stay, as if these two things weren't enough. Reservation was for 3:30, which was past the brunch times that were posted by the host stand. Evidently, they have since extended their brunch until 4 pm. This was not communicated to us nor was it communicated that you MUST have the bottomless brunch to dine. This is different than it had been before, completely understand that the entire table must do the bottomless. But my entire party wanted to do dine ala carte, as it was 3:30 pm, which is not a time for brunch. We got up to leave upon learning this, but a server came by and told us that we could do ala carte, just to be informed by her two minutes later that she was wrong and that we had to do the bottomless brunch. I think that it is a little ridiculous to require that an entire table do the bottomless brunch with a half-hour left, or at least be informed before sitting down that that was the case. Be warned, if you go for a late afternoon meal, you will be required to do the bottomless brunch, even if you do not want to. I just hope you can hear your server.
We came in dressed as unicorns and they didn’t throw us out. Five stars
Food was amazing! I loved everything I ate. Service was slow but it appeared as if the restaurant only had three servers on... this is why our service was not up to par but it will not stop me from coming back!
The hostess should greet people. They ignored me while I stood in front of them. I had 3 groups of people get their attention and they were seated. So I figured I’d stand there for a few more minutes to see if they acknowledge me. They didn’t so I got their (plural) attention.
The waitress we had was excellent. She was attentive and very nice. I appreciated her.
Great food..good drinks....gets busy and waiters can't be100% attentive but they try to make up for it
Good service and good food. A nice spot for brunch if you want to stroll in Georgetown afterwards. Crowd skews younger. Rain caused roof leak when we were there.
Our table was never ready for our reservation. We had to sit at a bar table. Since the table wasn’t ready, our two hour bottomless brunch was cut short but we did not receive a discounted price.
Our res. was at 1pm, we got there at 1245 but they didn't seat us until 2pm AFTER they gave our res. away. Then the server tried to make up for it by bringing us a ton of food, but ITS BOTTOMLESS. That didn't help plus you brought us stuff we didn't want then never brought the food we actually ordered. It took forever for my friends to get their drinks unless they ordered mimosas, otherwise they had just 2 drinks the entire time. Very disappointed.
I usually enjoy El Centro DF. However, this was a terrible experience. Even with a reservation, we waited over an hour to be seated. Once we were seated, we ordered food and drinks quickly (since by then we were starving), but our food took another half hour. We had to place several orders before our food ever came, with left us with untouched plates once we ate our fill. The food and drinks are great here. The $35 all you can eat and drink is a good deal, but the service this weekend needs to be much improved before I'll return.
Good food, good service, and good ambiance. However, we went for a 10:30 Saturday brunch and they didn't have coffee, though kept telling us it was coming in ten minutes until an hour and a half passed by and still nobody had brought us coffee. Very disappointing.
Great Mexican food restaurant in Georgetown. Stopped in with reservations and were seated early! Chips and salsa were great as was the main course. Wish there was a burrito option but the margarita made up for that! Would come here again. Girlfriend had the steak tacos and talked about them the entire next day!
It was weird that the waiter didn’t allow us to choose the food and drinks we actually wanted. She just showed up with things she ordered for all of her tables. Food was fine. Value not worth $35 unless I can actually choose my drinks and food.
