I️ was so disappointed in this visit here. Being from out of town I️ was familiar with the group that opened this establishment so we decided to give I️t a try. After we were sat we did not see our server for quite some time not even to get waters. We ended up ordering the brunch special and asked for specific items but our server put in whatever she wanted which ended up not being any of the items we originally asked for. Needless to say there was a lot of food wasted. Some of us had ordered a drink which should have been just a beer with a shot and I️t came out as something completely different (we thought they had forgotten about the order since we were done with all of our food before I️t was even delivered to the table) and were charged incorrectly. All in all the experience was probably one of the worst we’ve had in a while, very unprofessional and felt like our money was wasted. The food was not good either except for one or two of the maybe 10 things we were brought out. Sorry I️ had to share this review but disappointed, never going back, will never recommend.

We were excited to go for brunch, but ended up super disappointed. Food came out very slowly; often cool when it arrived. Lots of time between dishes and often not easily shareable. Server often forgot requests. On the whole, not a good experience.

Took my team here after a team building activity and it was surprisingly empty (I guess they don't do a big lunch business). They were able to accommodate our party of 7 with no issue and the service was very good. Orders ranged from Enchiladas to Tacos and Quesadillas. Everyone was happy with their meal and the portions were generous. The guacamole was excellent as well-- we got spicy and I didn't think it was too overpowering. One of my employees is vegan and he was very satisfied with their Roasted Heirloom Vegetable Tacos. Prices overall were reasonable for the area and I would definitely go back.

the food is AMAZING!!!! Service was lacking ish but it was prime brunch time so we weren’t mad when drinks took a little longer than expected. The bottomless brunch is well worth it!

The music was super loud so we had to talk loud but other than that it was awesome!!

We were excited to try out this mexican restaurant. However we were so disappointed. It took at least 10 min. to get water and another 10 for the waitress to come and ask for our drink order. We finally ordered some of the chef specials - The steak and salmon. The salmon didn't have much flavor despite it supposedly having habanero spice rub. The corn underneath tasted like it was from a can and the "salad" was just a bunch of greens on the plate. The steak which was full of gristle was cooked on a flattop which was a disappointment and it had little taste. The sauce (mole) was not enough and needed to be punched up a few notches. Altogether a disappointing night out. Find another Mexican restaurant to try!

Food was delicious! Service was very good too. I just wish the ambiance could be a little bit less noisy. For example, although the food is great, this place would not be ideal for a date when you want to make sure you hear the other person clearly.

I took visitors from out of town here for brunch and it was a total nightmare! The air conditioning unit kept dripping on our table. When we told our server, they wiped the table and moved on. We ended up sliding over when the group next to us left. We should have left then, but we ordered our first round of drinks and food. The food we ordered never actually came out. Our server would bring us a myriad of dishes we didn't order and would only stop by our table after we flagged him down. We normally would be very relaxed about this given it was a busy brunch time, however we continued to receive meat dishes when we had two vegetarians with us. They didn't get to eat until we had been seated for 1 hr (and many plates of other food later). It seems like El Centro just squeezed as many people in to the restaurant as they could to try without considering the level of service that each table would get. During our time there, we saw 4 people sit down, and get up to leave after not receiving any service. Very bad experience and will not be back.

I've been going to El Centro DF on 14th St for a long time. Today, I went to the one in Georgetown to celebrate my friend's soon to be mother. Since the beginning, we asked our waiter to make her huevos rancheros well done or make them scramble as she cannot have them over easy during her pregnancy. After 45 min, they brought her three dishes with the eggs runny, on the fourth try, they finally made them scramble, which was on her first request. We understand brunch time is busy at El Centro but it was unacceptable that her food was late for almost an hour and the server kept bringing the wrong dish. Not to mention that his excuse was that all the dishes were pre-made, nothing was fresh and they could not make the eggs well done nor scrambled, which they did at the end probing that they were able to do them all along. The orders kept being wrong, and all the server was paying attention to were the tables with unlimited drinks. Several times, we had to get up and get his attention to check on status of our food. The plantains came before the guacamole because that was also pre-made according to him. The experience was far from acceptable and the customer service was terrible.

The food was excellent. Service was very slow and poor. Didn't have utensils when our meal was served , appetizer was served before our drinks came, which took forever, the table next to us was seated and there wasn't even a chair for one of the customers. When using the women's restroom, a male attendant came in unannounced to clean up after someone got sick.

Overall I enjoyed my first time at this restaurant. It was recommended by the friends that I went with. I sat upstairs near to what I thought was a window seat but on closer inspection it was a wall of bricks with holes to the outside and no actual window. It was a bit chilly outside and every now and again a slight gust of breeze would blow through the holes but the overhead heat lamps helped to compensate, so be mindful of that and bring a cardigan or sweater. Up until this point I was not a fan of mexican food but we had the $35 all you can eat brunch and I got to taste a selection of different foods. I would definately go back and absolutely would recommend you give it a try. Service was excellent. Our glasses were filled frequently without prompting and a smile almost every time. I think it helped that I had two gorgeous women with me :)
Had I been alone...hmmmmm.....

Drinks were great, as always, but the brunch food left a lot to be desired. The tacos were slimy and tasteless -- not at all like they are at non-brunch times. The service (our waiter was Mario) was great, and we had fun, but definitely not worth the price. Probably will be back, but definitely not for brunch.

Worst restaurant experience. This place isn't cheap and the service and food are way below average. I ordered 2 Margaritas when we were seated- my wife's drink was delivered after 20 minutes and mine didn't arrived until 30 minutes later while eating my entree. Server said bar was backed up but never returned after bringing my wife's drink 50 minutes earlier. I should have never accepted it but I needed something to get the taste of this horrible food out of my mouth. Food was horrible- taste and quality is better at Taco Bell. Plus, the server short changed us $10.00 and new the amount exactly when we brought it to his attention. I was given a coupon for a free Margarita- I'm from out of town and I'ld never return. They could have offered the drink for free or whatever but didn't. With so many excellent restaurants in Georgetown, don't subject yourself to this place. I should have read the reviews on Open Table before booking- my experience is common. Just go elsewhere.

We go to El Centro a lot- usually the 14th street location. Georgetown was a bit of a letdown, mostly in service. We'll probably stick to the 14th street restaurant rather than this one, which is disappointing because of the great location.

I've gone here for happy hour many times and enjoyed the experience but their dinner left much to be desired. We had to wait 15 minutes upon arrival for our table even though I had a reservation, our waitress wasn't writing things down and messed up drink orders, and the food was totally average. I'll always recommend their happy hour margaritas but this is not worth it for dinner.

My wife and I have been to El Centro before and have loved it but the experience we had on Monday was terrible. We got there and it took the server atleast 10minutes to ask what we would like to drink(it was not busy at all, but they were definitly understaffed). After finally coming to greet us he took our food order and left. 30minutes went by and we had not gotten utensils, chips, salsa, not even water. After a while the food runner came atleast twice with plates that were not ours, we kept telling him we did not order that. By the third time the server brought the food we had said was not ours and we told him we did not order that, his response was oh this is complimentary and put everything on the table and left without even saying what he had brough us. By this time we had drinks but we still had not gotten utensils, chips, salsa or guac. My wife examined all the plates and guessed what they were, she also pointed out a shrimp on one of the plates, if she had not done this I would have had an allergic reaction and would have needed medical assitance. 15 minutes passed and our original food had still not arrived so we called the server again and reordered everything. 30min went by and after asking for chips for the 4th time they brought them but no salsa. Our correct food never made it and by this time we had no more patience to keep asking for things. We were charged full price and didnt even get an apology. Terrible service, food was cold, wouldnt want to go back.

Food overall was good, 4 star rating was for the guacamole. They somehow figured out how to ruin guacamole. The consistency and flavor were both so far off I couldn't eat it. I love guacamole & have never refused to eat it ever. The rest of the food was a 5, the drinks were great as well. The server seemed over it, but no biggie, I have those days as well. Ambiance was great, would love to spend more time on their patio!!

Went here for Bottomless Brunch and got a place outside on the patio. All you can eat & drink was well worth the $35! Food was much better than I expected. Several dishes were amazing--quesadillas, empanadas, tacos plus breakfast versions were all quite tasty. Fried plantains were great dessert but others in party loved churros. Margaritas, mimosas and plenty of other drink options were enjoyed by all!

This was my second time dining at El Centro and the food did not disappoint, however, the service and Margaritas did. We were sat by the hostess and quickly greeted by our server. We ordered Margaritas and were promptly served chips and salsa, but that is where it all came to a screeching halt. Thirty minutes later, we had gone through 2 baskets of chips and still no margaritas. Our waitress had apologized earlier for the wait saying the bar was busy, but our dinner came before we saw our drinks. When they finally did arrive, there was absolutely ZERO tequila in them. I honestly think they may have been in such a hurry that they forgot it! The food was fantastic. We had braised beef street tacos and the salmon entree, both delicious, but we didn't see our waitress again. She was crazy busy running from table to table. I think she was the only little gal in the place! This restaurant is always busy, always hopping, so there is no excuse for bad service of any kind. Bring in more help! We were in Georgetown for a couple of more nights and would have gladly gone back to El Centro, but the Margaritas were so disappointing as was the service. We will try El Centro again on our next visit, hoping that our experience was an exception -- everyone can have an off night, right? Stay tuned! We will report back!
