The food was very good but the table location was awful. We sat between an open door to the outside and the steps to the kitchen. Wait staff delivering meals whizzed by us in all directions the entire time. The lights above the table were not working so we were in the dark as well. Not very pleasant. Definitely ask to live if you get that table. We should have.
Dear Judy - I’m so sorry we let you down. We’ve taken your feedback and the feedback of other reviewers to heart. We’re in the process of making some major changes, including moving that table and checking on our lights. We appreciate the feedback you have given us and we hope that you will give us another chance in the future. Thank you, The El Centro Team
There was a RAT on the patio that came by numerous times. Also, the server took 15min to come to our table after being seated and left through the rear patio door many times.
The options were very limited for brunch. The flavor was bland for Mexican food. The drink was pre-mixed and bitter. For $39 it was not worth it..
Went here for a birthday brunch with my girls and it was blast! Bottomless brunch is a GREAT deal, with such a variety of delicious mexican cuisine to enjoy from. Atmosphere was great as well. Would def recommend and will be coming back soon.
Their brunch menu if it’s not bottomless has 9 things on it. This should be advertised much more, especially prior to making reservations.
We went to dance and really enjoyed the music. However, the drinks were extremely disappointing. Their house tequila is very poor quality (Sauza), especially for a Mexican restaurant. And the drinks are super watered down. I didn't once see the bartender measure the shot of tequila he was putting into our drinks. I know experienced bartenders can estimate but the two bartenders they had working the night we went, were way off. The food was fine. Decent guacamole.
Disappointed in the service! Made reservation online with Open Table requesting to sit outside several weeks ago. Shortly after making the reservation I called and spoke to a manager and he guaranteed an outdoor table since I specifically mentioned the contining pandemic. However upon arrival tonight we were not given an outdoor table although one was available outside in the front of the restaurant. Even spoke with the manager and he could not accomodate us which is unfortunate. Food is decent and this was not our first time there but we will not return.
It was really nice. Mexican food with an umph
Drinks were poor. All 4 margaritas we tried were watered down and food was not evenly cooked and bland. Asked for medium well steak and it came "medium rare". Notified staff, they did bring me a second steak and it still was not what I asked for. It ended up being well done and toughh. Staff did not bring me proper silver ware to use to eat steak. Presentation was awful. After a long flight back in this was not the quality of service I expected
I was charged twice for brunch
they have completely changed their brunch menu and the food is disgusting.
Friendly servers, bottomless brunch was a great time. Highly recommend!
Miss the old brunch menu, but still a reasonable brunch.
We had a reservation for outside dining. When I got there, I saw tables on sidewalk. That would have been fine, but it was loud and lots of people waking by. Pleasantly surprised when they led us upstairs to the outdoor patio area. Nice ambiance. Good music playing. Our server was amazing, friendly and helpful. He made our dinner even more special.
We also arrived for our reservation early and they took us no problem. Would definitely come back if we are in Georgetown.
Great food. Great service.
Service was good, staff were nice.
Food was average at best.
Guacamole: not well seasoned — lacking salt. Avocados were good quality though!
Al Pastor tacos - not well executed. There was barely any pineapple and the meat were big chucks vs. nicely shredded pork. Not authentic.
I came here for Bottomless Brunch and everything was great except for the margaritas. They were very weak :( probably made with a bottom shelf tequila.
The staff was amazing!!!
Delicious food, great service, definitely recommend!
The food was not very good
The service was amazing!!! Came for the bottomless brunch, will be back again.
Shrimp was old and smelly, service was slow. Drinks during happy hour are wack. Overall vibe is nice.
Super fun place for a Friday night dinner with friends! Food was amazing- fresh and authentic, and the service was great! :)
They had a great happy deal. I would recommend for well priced margs and good tacos
Really not great service. No chips and salsa during happy hour. Weak marg. TERRIBLE mosquitos made it hard to enjoy the experience.
They were out of carne asada, which is odd since they had carne asada street tacos... the cocktails were horrible don't recommend the mango or the spicy mango margarita. I guess the humidity could've affected the prep of the drinks. The tacos were good. And the platanos were amazing.
Meeting with friends from out of town. It took hours for food to arrive, then they just kicked us off, literally.
Cool atmosphere and good drinks, but brunch food was sub-par. It felt like a heated up pile of slop.
The food and drinks were great! Service was a bit confusing as many servers seemed to be coming and going but overall good service considering how busy it was!
I have come back to DC after 3 years and I used to come to El Centro DF to eat all the time. This time the ambiance has changed. The hostesses were not welcoming and did not greet anyone upon arrival. Also, even though I had a reservation they said they could not seat me yet but when a couple in front of us asked for a table even though they did not have a reservation they were seated. When we left a male hostess did say thank you for coming. Our server made us feel like we were bothering her just by asking for more refills of drinks. When we ordered bottomless brunch we also ordered guacamole a la carte. Our server was none to happy that we ordered extra items. Why not we paid for them. Our food was cold when brought to our table. For the first time, El Centro DF disappointed me. I do not think what we paid yesterday plus tip was worth the food or the manner in how we were treated. We were not treated well. It was sad because I frequented this restaurant all the time for six straight years before I left DC the first time. I was excited to go back but now I am just disappointed.
Me and my partner were here for bottomless brunch. The food was ok but, its literally a tasting menu. The drinks were terrible. It felt like powder based margaritas and mimosa (fake orange juice)
I usually love this place. My most recent experience was a little disappointing. Food was OK. Frozen margarita machine wasn’t working (which is at least half of the reason to come here & do bottomless brunch).
Service was ok. It was horribly hot outside, which we were OK with since we are more comfortable outside with COVID but it would be nice to have an umbrella.
Don't waste your money. Below average Mex food. Anyone who wrote they liked it was drunk or never had good Mex food before. Over priced and poor service. Bunch of young people who don't care. Will never return. Wished I never went.
Came here to celebrate with my spouse. We had our first date here a few years ago, and it's just as fun now as it was then. I had the Chesapeake Enchiladas, and they were delicious. My spouse had the Chicken Tinga Tacos, which were devoured with equal enthusiasm. Can't wait to come back!
Food was just ok. Almost every meal we got was cold. They neglected to tell us that the kitchen closed at 3:30 when I booked a table for 2:45, that would be nice to know before hand. Brunch menu is very small and you can ONLY order from those few items on sundays. Our waiter was not very friendly or attentive. George, who wasn’t our waiter helped us more than our actual waiter did, he deserves a raise.
Understaffed, and a/c was obnoxiously loud. Food and drink selections have gone way down post-COVID
Great authentic Mexican Food! Excellent service
The server was friendly and prompt and the food was delicious!
Great all around!
it was a really nice environment as the waiters were nice and the food was delicious! Zi will be coming again soon!😎
