   Great experience at El Catrin. Our server was very accommodating, knowledgeable, & attentive. She gave us the perfect amount of space to enjoy our date, as well. We did not eat, we just had a few drinks, but will definitely be coming back. Great service & great atmosphere.

   Fun, beautiful, exciting venue. Loved the decor! Service was excellent. Food service was fast. Server Vinnie was great. The food was absolutely delicious - cannot say enough good things about it. Also had the margarita flight with some of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. Would 1000% recommend and I’d go back in a heartbeat!

   I’ve come to your restaurant many times, and I absolutely love it. It’s been a few years since I’ve last come. This time we came to celebrate my birthday with a few girlfriends. Everything was great until we were told that we could not have my birthday cake in your restaurant. Given that we walked in with the box, and it sat on the table the whole time, and we spoke to our server about it we were never told, nor has it been specified on your website that any of us saw that this was a rule. Was disappointed because I’ve never heard of this before. Other than that everything else was great.

   We arrived from out of town - first visit to El Catrin. Pamela, our server, was given the task of ordering for us - and did a fabulous job! We enjoyed every dish she provided - and the margaritas were amazing! Looking forward to our next visit!

    If in a pinch and in the distillery area, it's not a bad choice. I didn't find the food to be anything outstanding and the vibe was standard for a Toronto joint in a popular area. Overall not a bad experience but nothing super special either.

    Although El Catrin is a gorgeous restaurant and our waiter; Mason, was very attentive and friendly, the food unfortunately was a big miss. It was like arriving to a blind date at a stunning locale only to find yourself face to face with 'Eddie' from Christmas Vacation. For the price we paid for lunch ($145 + tip for 3 people, WITHOUT alcohol), I expected the food to be impressive, with complex flavours and at least tasty! My Cochinita Pibil (achiote rubbed pork) tacos were 'meh' with an unappetizing flavour. The Huevos Rancheros looked soupy and the Pollo quesadilla had more of a pancake texture. Maybe this restaurant is better for meeting for drinks and appetizers, or maybe the chef(s) were having an off day, but I was not impressed.

    El Catrin is always a favourite! The food is always fresh, the portions are fair and the presentation is wonderful. The drinks are solid and tasty! The ambiance is one of my favourites in Toronto. It's intimate but still very friendly and inviting. The staff are also really great, friendly and helpful. 10/10 will always recommend. xo

    Tacos were well sized for the price. Pastor was super flavourful and having that one first, the chicken flautas and baha tacos were a little lacklustre. Marg was good and large size for the price. The space is beautiful and service was quite good.

    Absolutely fabulous dining experience! The ambiance is exciting, drinks and food flavours pop! Loved the margarita flight to start! My only critique is that there are only a couple vegan options on the menu. Please add a few more!

    Great spot for food and drinks, very lively with great decor and service. A bit too expensive for tacos ($32 for 3), but the drinks were very good.

    Our server was extremely attentive, knowledgable and personable; she went above and beyond to make our experience great. The food and drinks are always excellent!     Truly comfortable seating - makes you want to relax and stay a long time. Stunningly beautiful, colourful yet calming, decor and lighting that makes me want to visit again just to walk around and soak it all in. Takes you into a different realm where you feel you stepped into a mini-vacation, but without knowing exactly where. Lovely!! Distance of tables away from other guests was perfect: not too much but not too little. But.......the MUSIC PLAYING WAS TOO LOUD. Not sure why so many Toronto restaurants insist on blasting music from loudspeakers so that you have to lean forward and raise your voice in a nearly empty restaurant just to talk with your table-mate. Whatever happened to the concept of "ambient BACKGROUND music"? This part of our dining experience was exhausting and seemed rather inconsiderate/ableist towards the hard-of-hearing and people with chronic pain disabilities who find it hard to twist their necks and contort in their seats just to chat at the table. Or folks who come from cultures where raising one's voice is seen as being gauche. Kinda defeats the purpose of the comfortable and lovely seating of this restaurant that begs to be relaxed upon. The menu at this restaurant is interesting and unusual. The food I ordered was truly delicious and contained a multitude of exciting flavours and textures. Lots of cool options for vegetarians. Price point was a little high for the quantity served; however, the recipes/preparation of this cuisine made up for that. This place is a feast for the eyes and mouth....but not the ears.....please tone down those loudspeakers.

    Ricardo was absolutely phenomenal. Amazing food and server. He made sure my sisters gluten allergy was prioritized and it was so nice for her to be able to eat without having to worry about cross contamination. Overall great food, drinks, and atmosphere. A staple in the Distillery!

    Food was average, nothing that wowed me. Our sever Pamela was awesome and the best part of the experience was the margaritas! Great place if you love tequila or want to experience good tequila. Atmosphere was good. A great place to hang out.

    2 patrons got sick from food. 1 child 1 adult. I called left voicemail asking Manager on duty to call me back. Still no response or acknowledgment.

    Good was good. However, long gap between when the food for all diners arrived. Three of is had meals and saw a number of other meals come out before the last meal for our table came out.

    Food was just ok. Some flavours were a little too light. The pork tacos were a little too salty but one you squeeze the lime on top it balances out.
