   The food was delicious, as well as the drinks. We had the fish and pork tacos, along with the guacamole. We also had two margaritas (mango and spicy). Our server was fairly new, so we made sure to order everything we needed right away. This was good for us, as most staff including our server were busy prepping for dinner service. For this reason, I rated the service low, as I had to wave the server done to receive the bill. Additionally, the table was dirty/sticky. Other than that, the food and drinks were good but a bit overpriced (what you would expect for visiting a tourist spot).

   I’ve been to El Catrin several times in the past, and had always loved it, which is why I booked it for my birthday. I was sooo disappointed in the food. It was bland and lacked the lovely Mexican flavours that I was so accustomed to in the past. For a $214 meal, excluding tip, I was extremely disappointed. The waitress was fantastic, and I tipped her well for that. I did tell her that the food was under whelming and bland. She could see that we’d left most of it. Very disappointed.

   The food was fabulous with a variety of different but very flavourful dishes - kudos to the talented chefs! The dishes came out shortly after ordering with great presentation. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and was always on hand without being obtrusive. Will be definitely taking friends there again.

    We had lunch at El Catrin on the patio! Great experience. The margarita flight was amazing (though it would have been nice to know it was $40)! Must try the ahi tuna tostados!! Great atmosphere and service was very hospitable.

    The waitresses were very unpleasant and not professionally looking. There attire was very unpleasant to look at. Think that the management of such place should pay much more attention into the uniform of the staff. I had a very unpleasant feel after the visit because of their attitude and the looks of the personnel.

    We had a great time at El Catrin. The patio is first come first serve, so we had to sit inside with our reservation, but the ambience was still good. Our server was very friendly and helpful, even remembering one of our party member's request for no salt rim on her margarita when we ordered a second round. Food was delicious and very filling. Would return.

    This was a really cool restaurant with a nice vibe, but was quite over priced for what it was. The tacos were good, but not 8 dollars a taco good. Overall I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. The service was really good though!

    El Catrin used to be so amazing. Not sure what’s happened, but that was the worst meal I’ve ever had there. Mole poblano tacos were awful. The guacamole used to be hand smashed at the table side, now it’s just ok and the tortilla chips were stale and lacking flavour. Margaritas were tasty. Fish tacos were just ok. The menu at this restaurant is nowhere near as good as it used to be. So disappointed and likely won’t go back.

    This is one of my favourite Mexican spot to have drinks and tacos. My bestie has never been so I decided to bring her. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time. This place is always packed! You can make reservations online at OpenTable. Ambiance: This place is so beautiful! There are beautiful drop lights hanging at the entrance with open brick walls. The outdoor patio is huge with lots of seatings and lots of flowers. The inside is just as grand with lots of mural and the wall designs are so pretty. This place is huge!! Lots of photos ops for sure! My bestie didn't want to sit outside so we dined indoors which was just as pretty. Service: Our server was amazing ! She was so nice and was always there when we need her. She explained the menu so well and was so patient with us. After her explanation we ordered our food and she was always a step away and kept filling my water glass. Amazing service Food: We ordered the guacamole and chips which is a must have since everyone orders this! Sadly enough pre Covid they would make the guacamole in front of you, smashing it with all the ingredients. So fun to watch and video tape. However maybe due to Covid they no longer do that. @elcatrin please do that again!! We ordered 2 sets of 3 tacos. We got the battered fish tacos and shaved pork tacos. The tacos are a must try it's so good and so flavourful. It was fantastic. The Carne asada however was a bit burnt and flavourless. Next time we'll just order the tacos. All in all with the ambiance, amazing food and fantastic service this place is a must try. Plus it's in the Distillery District so nice to walk around after dinner. I took off one star for the burnt and flavourless carne asada. Just get the tacos! The drinks looks so good. I didn't try since I had to drive but next time for sure!

    They did not take into account the comments I did about my reservation. The entrance is confusing with the restaurant beside them. Staff was not friendly. The quality of the food has decreased a lot. It’s overpriced. They said they couldn’t accommodate us better because the place was packed up but at the end, when we got in, the place was empty.

    I can’t give a full food rating really because we didn’t eat. It was a hot day and an afternoon of Margaritas. We each had a flight of four different kinds, each excellent. The total amount of alcohol was equivalent to less than two drinks, so it was an expensive indulgence for me, but others might not find this pricey. It was absolutely worth it and I will be doing it again as soon as I can afford to
