El Camino Mexican Soul Food & Tequila Bar Ratings and Reviews
Great Mexican restaurant with a solid following. Reservations are a must any time after 5 PM unless you want to stand in line. Large portions with very fresh and tasty ingredients. Service is very professional and fast. Tacos, burrito, quesadilla, chili rellenos were all excellent. The avacado salad is exceptional. Good margaritas and beer selection. Parking garage almost across the street is free except on weekends.
El Camino is one of the hottest places in Delray Beach. The food is some of the best Mexican I have had in South Florida and the portions are very large. The atmosphere is very energetic and the service is impeccable. Highly recommend for a casual outing or special occasion. Make reservations ahead of time as the weekends are very popular.
Very fun busy noisy evening. Charming hard working staff. Food came out very quickly. All efficient and professional. Great drinks. I highly recommend the Grapes of Wrath! Yummy ceviche, guacamole and brisket. Valet stand right outside. In sight of the 100 foot Christmas tree. A very satisfying first night in Delray!
Like all restaurants that become insanely popular, El Camino is entering the worn around the edges phase. The meats seem to be tougher, cheaper. The glass with my tequila was filthy and had to be sent back. The sides, which were normally perfect, are overcooked. The wait staff used to be the "we want your business" and now it's more the less pleasant bus station kind of hustle bustle. The best tequila list outside of the southwest keeps me coming back, but the innovation on the food side is deader Ryan a door nail. The current chef is treading on the original menu. Time to shake up things a bit?
This was a fun place to go. We had plans at 7:30 so arrived and were seated immediately at 5:15pm. It was already buzzing. We were surprised and disappointed to find out that it was happy hour but our table was not included--what?? Anyway, margarita was good, food was fresh, hot when it was supposed to be. I had the chicken fajita. Everything (veggies, seasoning and came out piping hot) was good except the quality of the chicken itself. Really big servings. The waitress was attentive and really helpful.
Was happy to see this restaurant on Open Table as we have tried to go there before and never wanted to wait for a table. Happened to be $3 margarita nite on Monday so that was a pleasant surprise. Food was good, but poblano in chile rellanos could have been cooked a little more. Was less tender than usual.
