El Basha - Park Ave
Food and service were both excellent. Well worth the visit on any occasion.
Tremendous dinner. Waitperson was fabulous. There were 5 of us & she got the chef to increase the appetizer quantities from 4 to 5 so we had one of each. Will be back!
The food and service is always excellent. They have been providing a consistent product for years!
The Kibbee is simply the best!
Loved it. El Basha continues to be my favorite restaurant in Worcester! A local gem!!
We were a large group celebrating a birthday. The servers started out a bit slow, it took over 30 minutes for most of group to get drinks. As the evening progressed service or timeliness improved significantly. The servers were very knowledgeable about menu which was excellent. Food was really really good and portions were huge! Servers also took that extra step to bring dessert with candle and sing for the birthday celebration which was greatly appreciated.
Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely return and I know everyone else I was with would too.
Alda is a God send she turned a truly bad experience into a delightful night. Thanks again Alda for you kind hospitality and defusing a terrible situation. Gary and Lesa
Never didPpoints. Excellent food and service. They are all so considerate and kind. Love El Basha
Had a lovely meal with friends. Service was very good.
The food is simply delicious, we had 3 different meals and they were all excellent.
The Ful Medames appetizer was very tasty.
Our waitress was very professional and right on top of everything!
El Basha has been around a long time, and I'm happy to report that it is still the best place in central MA for great Middle Eastern food! If you love fresh hummus, stuffed grape leaves, kibbeh and kabobs, then this is the place to be. Flavorful, perfectly cooked meat and fish. Good wine list which includes several selections from Lebanon. The only weak spot was after dinner tea/coffee. My friend would have preferred a decaf/herbal option which was not available. My espresso was weak, and was served like an afterthought...the server brought it without a saucer or spoon and did not provide sugar or lemon. She left quickly, so I couldn't ask before the cup got cold. I would suggest that herbal (at least chamomile) tea be offered, and that if you are going to serve espresso, it should be served properly or not be offered at all.
As always, you remain our favorite spot to dine at and meet our friends!
Wonderful. We were visiting Worcester and were so delighted to discover El Basha we ate there four times in four days!
El Basha is my favorite restaurant any day for lunch, dinner, small group meetings or private parties but especially during restaurant week! We come whenever and think the food, ambiance and wait staff are fabulous!!!
Beef stroganoff was not the one, waiter was not able to explained menu, music was not relaxing or Mediterranean, it was rough and loud. My son left hungry, he was not able to eat beef stroganoff consisted of 70 present of cheep mushrooms, no sauce. It was strange item, we know what is beef stroganoff too bad that your cook does not
Outstanding service, delicious fare, ambient and quiet atmosphere.
The food was great and the service was even better! Thank you for making my father's birthday dinner one he'll remember!
Great Arabic food
Excellent vegan and non-vegan food
Everything was perfect. Christina was awesome, amazing, never had such a great service in my whole life. She made my date the mos beautiful date ever. I can't find the words to thank her about that night. Absolutely amazing.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Every single time!
Loved it! Please post my open table points for my two last visits! Thanks!
I also had a reservation for dinner on the 30th and kept it though you did not give me my 100 points. I called El Basha to report this but still have not seen my points. Please advise! Thanks!
Excellent as always. Never dissapoints.
Actually did not eat. Their integration with OpenTable is an issue, as we had a confirmed reservation and when we arrived stated that we didn't have one, and that we shouldn't use opentable. Wasted 40 min of drive time and looking for parking place.
We went two times during restaurant week! It was fabulous, delicious and creatively offered. It's terrific during the normal calendar times as well. Alda was so gracious and fun as our server!
The food is always excellent.
Service was very good.
The bar was extremely loud.
Be sure to make a reservation!
Valentine's Day dinner. Very nice. Full restaurant but not too noisy. Good meal and I would go there again.
Great food and space! Try not to sit near the door in the winter as it gets a bit cold :)
Nice quiet setting and delicious food. Always a good spot
I fell in love tonight
Stopped here for a quick dinner with my wife and daughter while traveling home from LI to Maine on New Years Eve. Parking is an issue: the open lot immediately adjacent is for the auto parts store next door. The restaurant's parking is somewhere else (I'm sure a local could decipher the directions to it, but I gave up and found parking on a very, very busy Park Ave.) Middle Eastern menu, but a vibe more like a Worcester neighborhood Italian joint, complete with "Volare" and other sixties Italian faves playing in the background. VERY noisy, and it wasn't even 2/3 full. The bar is open and surrounded by restaurant seating, which explains part of the noise. A very busy waitress covering more tables than she should have still found time to be very attentive to the three of us. The food ranged from OK to very good, but nowhere near the best Middle Eastern I've eaten. The humus and baba ghanouj were very good - garlicy and flavorful; the baba ghanouj with an interesting smoky note to it. We had a four-tapas platter. We didn't get to try the tuna tartare because more humus appeared in its place. The Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) were very nice, with I think lamb in them. Sembousik were basically empanadas; flaky pastry folded over a lamb filling. These were very moist and flavorful - the consensus favorite. The Kibbe Balls (terrible name!) were dark brown blobs of a bulgar-based dough filled with an onion-meat mixture. Unfortunately, they had been way over-fried, exacerbated by the fact that the meat in the filling had been itself cooked to crumbly dryness - quite unappetizing! Presentation of the patter left something to be desired; a couple shreds of iceberg lettuce strewn randomly on the plate along with two grape tomatoes and a couple thick chucks of cucumber. Bottom line: someone needs to be more watchful in the kitchen.
We mad a reservation for New Year's Eve on New Year's Eve on Open Table for 615pm !!! We got there a little early and the hostess couldn't find our reservation. The restaurant was a little busy; so I said we could eat in the bar area. There were spots there and we had a great nite. They recently mad the bar area much bigger and it is a really cozy spot to dine. The food is always outstanding. We love the Port Said with Tenderloin, hummus and the Greek salad. Can't beat it.
Great food fantastic drinks and incredible service one of the better restaurants in the city
It was fabulous!
Delicious foodand plenty of it. The stuffed grape leaves are especially good
Our waiter William did a great job even thou there where some minor issues that where out of his control. Over all good experience. Will come back.
Our favorite restaurant for Mediterranean food. Absolutely delicious Old El Salad, grape leaves, kibbeh, lamb, hummus and many other sides and dishes. Waitstaff is excellent. Love this place.
This was my first time at El Basha and it was for my book club. The food was very, very good and the service was excellent! Where and how we were seated was perfect for our book club discussion. We look forward to visiting again!
For the real deal Middle Eastern meals in Metro West, this is it! Start with the tasty Marinated Artichoke, and the Sembousik with ground lamb and pine nuts wrapped in a tasty crust, yum! Follow with the Port Saüd with medium rare lamb, mushrooms in a garlic lemon sauce and rice pilaf, and a order of Pumpkin Kibbee with baked spinach, onion and chic peas, your mouth will water and your tummy will satisfied. Finish with their baklava and smile. We will be back!!!! The service is superb with a helpful hostess and waitstaff too.
A really nice neighborhood place with friendly service and good food.
