Service by Christen was very prompt & tailored to our needs...and always with a smile. The food is consistently very good, and the portions are very generous. This is our go to place for a nice, casual night out.
Grandson seated before our arrival at first table in extra room. Not our favorite room but we went with the flow. Waiter, Dave, very personable and efficient. Entrees served before Caesar salad finished. Prime Rib and pork chops accompanied by potatoes divine. Desserts delicious. No second cup of coffee offered. Felt like they wanted to turn the table.
underwhelming at best. The new York strip was tough and had that sinewing marbeling that you couldn't cut through.
The filet had no taste at all.
Even the creamy garlic salad dressing tasted like paste.
We do not even drink alcohol, and the bill was $170 . with tip. Waiter was very good.
As I drove home past CULVERS , I wish I'd eaten there:)
Ej’s has excellent, friendly service, quality food with big portions, and relaxing, clean restaurant. Our ‘go to’ place.
Very disappointing meal, we ordered small filet and got strip steak . It was a tough piece of meat, hard to cut, tough to chew. As a loyal customer, I’m very disappointed!
Fabulous neighborhood gem. Never disappoints. Dark when you first walk in but you adjust!!!
EJ's Place reminds us of Supperclubs that are in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. only much better in the excellence of food and service!
I will never return
Service was very slow initially.
The waiter had to ask us to repeat our drink orders more than once.
Ordered a steak med rare -charred - was delivered med well - not charred
The waiter wanted to look at the steak to be sure - then he had the manager come over to verify.
I did not want it recooked - everyone was already eating
the bill came and the steak was still on the bill.
I showed it to the waiter who immediately removed it from the bill.
Most of the other entrees were good- but not taking care of a poorly cooked $58 steak was disappointing.
Food was outstanding Our waiter Johnny was great
EJ"s Place was excellent. Food and service are a ten.
Looking forward to returning.
My favorite place!, best lobster tails, fabulous steaks!! Great people!! Love Gibson’s in Rosemont!!
Was very good. We went on a Sunday evening and wasn't very crowded which was nice. Filet Mignon was huge, but great, so Petite Filet probably would have satisfied. Service was great and very fast, very attentive which I appreciate. Plenty of bussers around to keep things flowing at the table.
We had a great meal and excellent service.
Food was very good and hot . Steak was very juicy. Chicken Vesuvio was very good . Service was excellent.
Everyone loved their dinner. Service was perfect!
It was great and the service was amazing
Excellent service and pleasant, knowledgeable waiter, David
Superb food, BEST food in the Chicagoland area
Highly recommend this restaurant
Very pricey, but food and atmosphere worth it. Only 4 stars for the Seabass , expensive and overcooked.
peas and onions and EJ's slaw awesome.
Always fantastic food and service! Celebrating DAd’s birthday with Mom. They had never been. Loved it.
Was for a birthday but we go all the time. Excellent food!
I guess everyone has an off night and this was it for EJ’s. Perhaps don’t go on a Monday before a holiday, but as it was my husband’s bday, not much choice of date. Started with a stale breadbasket and ended with key lime pie that had sat in a refrigerator too long and had that just off taste. At least that was on-the-house for his bday. In between, Chicken Oreganata’s all white meat was terribly overcooked and Dover Sole was dry, too. Even the always delicious cottage fries arrived cold, as if they sat awhile as the other items overcooked. Not writing EJ’s off, but I would be very sad if this is the new normal for them.
EJ's Place is so good that the kids visit us more often so they can go there.
Another great meal and Christian provides excellent service. The best bread sticks, cottage fries,
salad, steaks key lime pie....among many many other things.
Highly recommend and looking forward to returning.
Also, we had the pleasure of meeting Lucca - a real gentleman. EJ did real good...terrific family and restaurant.
Amazing!food and service were excellent!
We were very disappointed. The quality and quantity of food isn’t what we have become a custom to at EJs
Servce and the food was as good as it gets. Never had a bad steak yet. Been going there for 20 years.
School reunion of about 15 and it was all perfect: service, menu, food, table arrangements.
Always love this place!!!! Amazing food, service and staff :-)
Always a great choice with excellent, friendly service and excellent food.
Great service! Very accommodating and excellent food
Expensive, but you get what you pay for and more. Large portions of quality food and beverages.
Wait staff old school, aim to please, made us feel like we were the only persons in the room and they were there for us only.
It was super expensive for the overall experience. The steak was average and no thrills but will set you back over $50. The sides are nothing special, average at best. The service was good. The place advertises cocktails but they don’t have a cocktail menu. You can order your standby favorites though from the bar.
Great food and incredible service.
EJ’s never lets me down .
Always consistent service and food. Probably the best steakhouse on the Northshore!
EJ's has become a once a week place to go - that's how excellent it is!
We had the bone in strip - which was a special on the menu. Really good.
Christian was our waiter and the service was outstanding.
Overall food was amazing and the service was good, but our server got distracted by a bigger party and forgot about us. Not ideal when dining w a baby and timing counts.
Great food and David is the best!!! Never disappoints!!
The steaks along with the sides (sautéed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes) we had were delicious! Service was excellent as well. The decor didn’t quite match the cost of the food. Felt more like I was in a restaurant in the north woods where I would have a casual family meal rather than a place where they sell $60 steak dinners. That being said, I would probably go back to try some of the less costly items on their menu simply because the food is very good. Lastly, the noise level was pretty high. It made us rush through the meal just so we can get out and hear each other.
It’s great but very expensive
Awesome food and incredible service.
