The restaurant's signature design element is an elegant Ipe (ee-pay) wood from Brazil. It separates the main dining room and the lounge. Greeting you as you enter the main dining room are Koi fish painted on the floor. Above the Sushi bar, a 12' x 8' Japanese inscription screen, hand painted by a Buddhist Monk.
Spicy A’s is one of my favorite rolls.
The food and the service was great. We will love Eiko's and will be going back again soon.
The sushi was terrific! Very fresh and well prepared.
We loved all of the rolls and the seaweed salad is great!!
We’ve are locals and have been here before. However, I wanted my husband to expand his Japanese food comfort zone beyond the Bento Box. We were treated and seated by a courteous hostess. Everything was very clean. Both menus offered lots of beverage and food options and was very explanatory. Our waiter, Ivan, was very experienced, knowledgeable, attentive and sensitive to our food allergies. The rest of the support wait team was also very attentive and made sure that our water glasses were full and plates were cleared. Our food tasted so fresh and was excellent. The calamari was a fantastic starter. We both enjoyed the Lion Roll, Kobe Beef Roll, Ricky Ricardo and Neko Chan! My husband was pleasantly surprised and I’m happy that he has now expanded his palette to include such healthful Japanese food. Also, I love wine, so I ordered the GLS Napa Cellars Sauvignon Blanc that paired nicely with our food selections. I think he’ll want to bring me here more often now.
Food was delicious. Seriously delicious. Unfortunately, service was slow - took several minutes for our server to come to our table after we were seated. Also, I never enjoy walking into a restaurant and seeing tables that haven’t been cleared.
Great service, great sushi. Ten of us celebrating bachelorette party. It was a Sunday night, so it was fairly quiet. Really enjoyed.
None of the orders came with ginger and none on the table with the wasabi.
Also, had put on reservation that it was someone’s birthday and it was not recognized.
Food is good - lots of choices whether you like sushi or not. It is so-o-o-o noisy - acoustics are terrible - difficult to have any sort of conversation.
Eiko's continues to exceed our expectations. My husband has enjoyed their Breast of Duck that has been on their "Specials" menu and I am still a fervent follower of Sushi Chef Eddie. Eddie has created an amazing Sushi Slider that is still in the planning stages. The quality of the products is amazing and consistent and the presentations are art forms.
Great spot in Napa, nice wine list with great bubbly selection
We also made the mistake of not requesting a more desireable seating location. Food and service were great. Just wish that the hostess ran us to the closest table which was near the front door and wedged inbetween two larger tables. Place was not totally full and there were walk-ins without reservations that snagged the better tables.
Always good quality and value. The hamachi was excellent and we enjoyed the hot mama roll
Always a favorite local spot. Excellent food beautifully presented and outstanding service from Dougie!
New Year’s Eve dinner
Rolls were fine
Sushi was amazing
On New Year's Eve Eiko's was delicious! The food is fresh, flavorful and made with care. Our server Shea was awesome and the food came out quickly. I love Eiko's and highly recommend it.
We had a lovely time!
Both of the rolls I ordered were marginal and they tasted too creamy like they were loaded with mayonnaise
Food is absolutely amazing. A must if if you are in Napa and like sushi. We go every time.
Sushi is limited and descriptions are vague/incorrect. Almost every roll is cooked or has something cooked in it.
Only issue was after making a reservation well in advance they wanted to seat us next to the front door in a draft. Seemed put out that we wanted a better table.
The floor was sticky. The table felt greasy. The food and service were both just ok. It was a disappointing experience vs our expectation.
I was impressed that they read in my profile that I require gluten free. They made recommendations and modifications with me having to ask.
Eiko’s is a favorite, and I love going there.
Good for date night. Drinks were tasty and the customer service was good.
Great always. Only blip this time was the hostess didn’t want to seat us without menus as they were all distributed- good sign that they are crowded and busy!! Suggestion- seat the customers, give them water and make them comfortable instead of standing in the entrance way on a cold windy night. Other than that, great good, great service!!
Great service, like most is the times!
We had many, many dishes, each of which was better than the previous one. They were all just marvelous and brought to the table at just the right pace. I go often and will continue to do so.
Food is always exceptional, but service is always sub par.
Servers act rude and are not responsive to customers.
We arrived a few minutes before our reservation. We wete told it would be 5-10 minutes until our table for 2 was ready. While we waited a number walk-in customers were seated. We finally got seated 15 minutes after our reservation. We sat at our table for another 10 minutes before our server came by to take our drink order, but the host hadn't given us the drink menu! Our server said she would bring us a drink menu, but went off to take an order from another table. It was obvious the situation wasn't going to get better so we left. The restaurant was overwhelmed and under managed.
Food was good, as expected...we dine there often & enjoy Eiko’s. However, on this night, the service by staff (not waiter) was not so good - one memorable “event” stuck out. When our after-dinner coffee arrived lukewarm, we quickly asked for a fresh pot. The young staff member proceeded to take our individual cups (which we had added cream to) & collectively dump them back into the coffee pot right at the table. About 10-15” later, he came back with a new pot... or so we thought. However, as we poured the coffee, it became obvious (because the coffee was not black) that the server had just reheated the first pot with everyone’s previously tasted & mixed-together coffees. He didn’t seem to think there was anything wrong with his “method”. But after we stated clearly we needed a NEW pot, he did finally bring a freshly brewed one. Unfortunately at that point, we were done with our desserts & kinda felt icky about coffee anyway. Re-training/ remediation desperately needed!
We felt the service was incredibly poor - from the hostess to the waiter. Our group of 4 are all great cooks so we go out for the service - and boy did they fail at it in so many ways. First there were not enough menus so we had to wait - then the table they had for us was right by the door and there was a cold wind blowing in every time it opened and they could not put us anywhere else....the food took forever - when we asked for clean plates for the second wave of food they were soaking wet - water glasses went unfilled.....just all around no attention paid to their patrons - we won't be back! (vote with your $$ folks!)
Good sushi - and nice cocktail area
Interesting menu and good sushi...but a super surly waiter and what appears to be an uninterested staff. I had a good experience at their Oxbow outlet a few months ago, but the restaurant is generally disappointing.
Service was not up to par. Food was delicious.
Very casual Sushi Restaurant with moderate menu prices with an excellent selection of creative dishes. When browsing the menu, you'll find way too many amazing sounding dishes you'll want to try, but that would be way too much food for one sitting... so it keeps you coming back.
Reason for not 5 stars:
1) The tables, chairs and floor are showing significant wear.
2) Mens restroom is way too small. 1 stand up and 2 stalls. Often there is a line to use on an busy night.
3) Staff dress code would elevate the perception of a quality sushi restaurant. When you walk in and see the host as well as a bar tender wearing a tshirt, it seems a little out of place with a $$$ price rating.
Overall, I LOVE dining at Eikos and will keep bringing my friend and family as often as I can.
Sashimi plate. Very fresh and delicious!
Very good restaurant without the super pretentiousness of a few of the other Japanese restaurants in town. Food can be a miss to very good but the misses are still pretty close. Service can be the same way; be prepared to ask for things after your initial contact with your server. Not cheap, price-wise, but so much better value that others in town and let's face it, it's Japanese food which is always at the higher end. Good for locals and tourists; fun to people watch out the big windows. Eiko's is a most welcome addition to the "new" downtown.
It was our anniversary and I asked for two glasses of bubbles when we sat on my reservation which never came. Our server Dougie, took forever to get to our table. When he finally did no greeting just a “what do you want attitude” You’d think for an anniversary they wouldn’t have given us the worst table in the restaurant. This is one of our favorite places to go in town and will still do so. But if you do go ask for Nini and Ivan.
We ordered two very simple rolls they took an hour to come out and the waiter only checked on us twice once being when he took our order. The rolls weren’t prepared well either. They were loose and my crab was burnt. Both rolls fell apart when being attempted to pick up. Normally it is 10/10 but it was a huge disappointment overall, minus the bus boy he was great.
