Breakfast with my daughter. She fell in love with the Elvis waffles although they were out of bananas. The biscuits did not taste like they are made fresh but they were good. Although we were solo most the time, service was great and the host/server was extremely sweet to us.
We made a reservation expecting places to be crowded. Walked right in with only one other couple eating the restaurant (the bar was somewhat busy). Waitress was very lackadaisical. Would ask questions from 5 feet away at the waitress station. Brought my wife’s entree out at the same time as my salad, my entree then made it out 10 minutes later. Never once asked how we were doing and promptly brought our bill before asking if we needed anything else. I didn’t expect to be rushed out at 7:00 on a Saturday night when they weren’t busy. Food was just ok, definitely the highlight but service was so bad we will never go back.
Arrived 10 minutes before our reservation on new years weekend. Was told that their ovens when down during the day and someone should have notified us. They did not notify us and as late as it was we were unable to find another restaurant with an available table. Weather was 5 degrees to boot. No apology no offer to find a another reservation no assistance what so ever. Very disappointed and won't be back.
The mac & cheese chicken waffle was one of the best things I've ever eaten.
Food was average, service was very slow. wait staff was friendly.
Went to eighty3 because of great reviews. Waited for 5 minutes to be seated at the table closest to the back exit where the servers were walking in and out. The hostess gave us menus and water. We then waited 20 minutes, NOT ONE SERVER OR PERSON CAME TO OUR TABLE, we watched the time and after 20 minutes we left. Our menus were on display along with the wine list signaling we hadn't ordered, the servers and hostess walked by our table several times but not once did anyone stop. The kicker was when we left two people thanked us and said have a great evening! Not sure what they were thanking us for since we never ordered any food or drinks.
Many options for gluten-free patrons. The servers were willing to check on menu items I had questions about. The food was delicious!
The food was absolutely great. The atmosphere was great also.
I got the center cut ribeye, the cook on it was good but very, very tough piece of meat.
Early dinner with 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren before the symphony. Our server Cat was a delight with good recommendations. Mac & cheese waffle and chicken was a tasty appetizer. We seniors split a Filet and it was sufficient. Shrimp and grits drew raves from a discriminating son. Accommodated a 13 year olds picky tastes with an off the menu request.
The service was excellent, but the food was entirely too spicy. Even my husband who likes spicy food could barely eat his. The waiter was great and noticed that I could not eat mine, so he didn't charge me. If you really enjoy spicy food, you will love this restaurant.
I have had brunh at eighty3 before, but this was my first evening experience. I had fried brussel sprouts and a salad. The brussel sports were delicious. The salad was a little skimpy for the price but their house salad dressing was wonderful. For dessert I had the Crispy Creme Brûlée. It was very crispy and almost too hard to eat. Overall we had a great dining experience and we will be visiting again.
We booked at Eighty3 because of good reviews and it’s lo stion within the Madison hotel.
The food quality was very mediocre
And compared to the reviews it was disappointing
Despite not being busy on a Sunday morning, we were served food very late and very cold. They were understaffed and out of food items by 10:30am. The value was terrible for the poor quality food and service.
Only average .Pricey for what you received
better options available
The food was excellent. The restaurant is small and tables are quite close together. We went to the rooftop of the hotel next door for a drink after dinner. A fun night!
I'll address just the food at this restaurant. The dishes were imaginative, but clearly within the mid-South tradition, and very good. My appetizer was lump crabmeat sandwiched between two thin fried green tomato slices. I then had a double pork chop which had first been slathered with honey and then fried with some breading. It was topped with a mushroom/sausage gravy and accompanied by dirty rice. The pork was cooked perfectly and still remained moist. The flavor was wonderful.
While I usually avoid fried foods, these dishes did not seem greasy at all. Yes, I knew that my meal was probably inadvisable on a cholesterol scale, but it was so good!
The great surprise was the list of wines by the glass, which included offerings I've not seen elsewhere. I chose a red from Carcassonne, the acidic nature of which was perfect with the fried pork chop.
Food uninspired & OK, not great. Casey (server) is intrusive & really over the top. I think the kitchen was slow also.
They were out of several menu items, the white wine was served warm, and the seafood pasta was over seasoned. Very disappointed in the experience.
Had a reservation and arrived on time, was seated after a little wait, no acknowledgement by waiter for 5-10 minutes, took drink order which took 20 minutes to be delivered, appetizer of cornbread which was ordered w drinks took 30 minutes to be delivered, entrees were delivered 5 minutes after appetizer. One of the Drinks Tasted terrible, waiter didn’t notice that it was not consumed, waiter said the drinks would be taken care of due to bad service (they weren’t), food was meh, we were in for parents weekend and will not be back.
This dining experience was simply wonderful the hostess/waiter was so pleasant and informative. While dealing the menu we were able to select items that were available for dinner service. I enjoyed hummus, deep fried cauliflower, deep fried jalapeños and fire grilled Cajun chicken wings. I'd recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.
Great food and service. Small plates are the best!
We were so excited about this place! We came for the Bruno Mars concert. The sweet waiter was practically serving every single table alone. We ordered a vodka/cranberry and 45 min later he said they were out of cranberry. Then we ordered a vodka/soda & ended up going to the bar and getting it ourselves. At least 1 other table walked out after 30+ min of waiting for their food. The bartender was completely frazzled. We waited 2 hours for our check then finally went to the bar to see if that would at least get us a drink while we waited. The bartender ignored us completely. I ended up walking up to the waiter, handing him my card & waiting for him to run it right then & there. He did. We weren't offered any concession for our wait or experience. The food was really delicious but unless the restaurant is properly staffed - what's the point? We never saw a manager either. There was a girl who was helping the waiter but she was complaining to the other patrons that she was supposed to go to the Bruno Mars concert but was called in to work, after already working in the morning. She was running food and taking drink orders for other tables and even delivered our food. We ordered the wedge and it came without blue cheese. We had to ask for blue cheese. Overall, so disappointing.
Great pre-concert meal. The food was fabulous and service was excellent. Highly recommended!
I usually love dining at Eighty3. I will start off by saying that the food is always good. My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and we were excited. We got there and a gentleman took our order. We ordered our appetizer and main course at the same time, no problem. We waited and waited on our appetizer and it did not come...mind you there was only 2 other tables being served. We look up and our waiter is the bartender as well. We are still waiting on our appetizer. Our main course shows up and still no appetizor so I say don't worry about it. Not happy. Also the restaurant has a gnat problem. My mom and sister have been to his restaurant and they have said the same thing. Again, the food is always good but it seems as if the customer service and the ambiance has fallen off.
The chicken and waffles were the best thing we had!!! Also dessert the fried Oreos!!! OMG!!!
We didn't even stay to order, so can't comment on the food. The table behind us was told that they were out of a few of their entrees, so we left. But the place has NO atmosphere. It's like eating in an airport. The rooftop bar is a great spot with a good bartender.
OMG. Our brunch was one of the best ever!!!! Asked to put my eggs Benedict in a biscuit. Slap your mama good.
Food was ok. Service was good. Found restaurant on OpenTable and it had strong ratings and bonus points which is why I tried it. I do not now that I would go back though given all the factors and other restaurants in that immediate area.
Not a lot of entrée options but the mac and cheese chicken and waffles was great and so was the trout. The fried Brussel sprouts were my favorite part.
Most of the meals on the menu aren't my forte but I'd go back again for the fish.
