Eighty Eight @ The Elms
We at there for our anniversary and had great food and a wonderful time!
We had the Salmon and ribeye both were cooked to perfection and delish! We sat out side which was peaceful except foe the loud banging service door out a soft pad on it to stop the banging
Overcooked, overpriced steaks. $125 for 2 adults and you can make better food at home.
Food was great, place was really nice. Bread arrived after the salad, pepper that was requested twice arrived at the end of the salad, but we got a fre dessert for our anniversary. Server was nice, but overall, it was just okay. Had th server been more attentive, and on the ball, and things happened a little more quickly (even the filling of water glasses took forever), the this would have been way more enjoyable. I expected more for this type of resort and spa. Not wroth the expense in my opinion. Better off at JJ's on the Plaza or something similar.
Good food, great service and beautiful venue make this a place worth going back to.
We had a good meal. The steak was the star of the show. Tender and flavorful.
Quality of food and service was great! Menu is limited in options but covered a bit of everything.
Had drink at bar before dinner. The mixed drink was poor and the bartender was unfriendly. One of our party had pasta dish which was very bland. One had pork dish which was dry, overcooked and fatty. One had lobster bisque soup which was ok.
Our anniversary….gave us complimentary desserts! So nice! Hard a very nice waiter. We went on a Tuesday…not too many people. Atmospheric! This is a grand old hotel….they should market it more for the KC travelers that want a quick fab getaway!
Wonderful food!!! Everything tasted delicious, steak was huge and cooked perfectly and the brussels sprouts were to die for. It’s very pricey but I would definitely recommend for special occasion or a great date!
Solid restaurant. We have salmon and ribeye and both were cooked to our liking. I had the spinach salad and noticed it came with bleu cheese instead of gorgonzola and the pecans were not candied. Finished with the molten lava cake and it was spot on.
Danielle was fantastic. Superb food, generous portions.
Very good food. I had the ribeye. My husband had the pork shoulder. Both were perfectly cooked. We had a nice bottle of wine. For dessert orange almond cake with ice cream. Cake was perfect, not too sweet. The service was very good. Good value.
food and service was very good. complimentary cake for our anniversary was great
Very tasty food with efficient and polite service. I don't enjoy atmospheres with TV screens but did not find the noise level of them to detract from the experience.
It’s a nice dinner but the the menu is limited now, probably because of Covid-19. We had dessert and it was huge-several scoops of ice cream we a big brownie an Kauluha poured over it and chocolate syrup. Really good but be sure to share it with someone or two.
It took 2 hours on to receive our food and the restaurant was not busy. The food came out dry and wilted as it had rested under heat lamps for far too long.
Everything was just mediocre. Guess we just expected more.
For the cost of food since the pandemic it was good. Menu choices were small. Our steaks were very good. Meal was not hot but eatable. As far as overall was good but warm food is not good
Service was ok. They did not have an item on the menu I wanted, but my second choice was good.
The food at the 88 can hardly be called food. It is a delicious artist creation that looks heavenly and tastes even better. The Halibut and short ribs with blueberry sauce was divine. Thanks for this amazing experience.
Very friendly. Polite. Awesome food. Definitely will be going back.
Great atmosphere for a romantic dinner. Our server (Ash) was a pro. He gets 5-stars +++.
Eighty Eight @ The Elms was outstanding! Would recommend to anyone. The food was delicious!
From appetizer to dessert we were very impressed with the portions and quality of the food. Service was great and loved the charm of the restaurant.
We hadn't been to the 88 in yrs, but we're considering making it a yearly trip. The wine, food and service was excellent. We also walked along the trails with fragrant flora at sunset. Very nice start for our anniversary date. We're already talking about staying to enjoy the spas next year.
New chef so menu was slim with choices but food was great. Parking during previously scheduled wedding events was difficult. We will return
Selection of menu items for dinner was inadequate. Service was good.
Breakfast was a bit pricey for what you got. I ordered an omelet and was able to choose 3 add ins after it arrived I realized cheese was one of the add ins but no charge for cheese on the scrambled eggs with our other plate. Also appeared to be just 1 waitress and 2 food runners so service wasn't great on this Tuesday morn as all were very busy.
The menu says that the potatoes come loaded and they came out dry. We both said something and the busser boy brought out a plate with plastic ramicans of shredded cheese, butter in the wrapper etc. Our plates have been out for 15 minutes now. The potatoes are not warm enough to melt cheese and butter. This is a $28 plate. The chef should be doing better than that.
Limited seasoning on the steak and mushroom pasta. Service was fine. For the price however it was not a quality food experience.
The antipasto tray had sliced sandwich cheese and no cured meat, when we asked for it they brought a bowl of pepperoni.
Entrees were so dry, barely edible.
We came here for a kid free anniversary get away (wife was also 9 months pregnant.) Steaks were perfect, on par with a Ruth’s Chris. Worth the price tag. We came back the next morning for breakfast and it was great as well. The Elms was the perfect experience. Cannot recommend the experience enough.
The food was amazing! It was the best salmon I’ve ever had and my sister loves the lobster ravioli. The meals seemed a little pricey, but understandable for a resort. Our only complaint was the small dessert selection. We were told that there was cheese cake and tiramisu and then the only two available were chocolate and neither of us like chocolate.
Great service. Food was good. Ambiance was great
Food and service was good. We sat outside, nice weather
This is a special occasion restaurant all the way. Quite expensive, but the food was delicious, the service was attentive and pleasant, and the night was a perfect celebration.
We were so disappointed in the food at 88. We had to send back two of our entrees as they were unbearable (and we never complain). The menu was limited and the quality of the food was very poor. Seafood had a terrible odor and was intolerable. We are saddened to say we won’t be returning. We even looked up other places to eat in town while we were dinning at 88 because this meal wasn’t going to suffice.
Our food took 45 minutes. Steak was cold, chicken was dry and bland. Waitstaff was accomadating and apologetic. Breakfast was warm, delicious and timely. Two very different dining experiences. Would go back but not for dinner for the price and quality.
