Seriously..... I'm 41, and that was one of the best dining experience I've had yet..... I wish I could remember our waitresses name but the glass of wine she brought me was so flip'n tasty and stout that my brain stopped obtaining new information... the FOOD...... No words.. We started with the Texas Trilogy and holy smoke-wagons, my fork fell through the meat like an over-boiled carrot. I almost ordered a second one to take back to the Bed & Breakfast just to lick throughout the evening.

Our Filets came out and I knew for certain there was no way they were gonna compete with the Trilogy and man oh man was I wrong.

I had a glass of the house white and left happy.

THIS PLACE ROCKS!!

I will be back!

Great food! Service that night was very slow. Wait staff was good, but the food took over an hour to come out. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

It's a little pricy. There's no elevator to the second floor where the dining room is. the tables are rather close together, but the food is excellent and the servers are excellent.

1890 has always been our 'go-to' for a date night. This particular evening, we arrived early for our reservation and enjoyed the downstairs bar very much-the service was excellent. When the hostess escorted us upstairs for dinner, we were seated, and waited 15 minutes or longer for the server. We finally flagged down someone and gave our drink order to him; shortly thereafter, another server showed up asking is we wanted drinks. Once they decided who our server was (it was the second guy), we ordered an appetizer and dinner. The ahi tuna appetizer was excellent; dinner was only mediocre--my salmon was good, but the grits were dry and only slightly warm. The grits were the reason I chose the salmon entree as they were described as creamy...they weren't. The bread was good but the dipping oil was mediocre. We enjoyed dinner out on the town, but this was not the typical performance of 1890--not sure we will go back.

Excellent service! The bartenders make a very good dirty martini. - We highly recommend the trilogy appetizer and the spinach artichoke dip - to die for! So glad this place located in our hometown!

We have been to 1890's Grill a number of times. The food remains consistently good, but the menu also remains the same year after year. For the price of the entree's and the scale of restaurant they are trying to project, more variety in the menu over time would be nice.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent - informative and attentive but not intrusive (a rare experience these days). The wine list is extensive so there should be no difficulty finding something you like. We chose a Tempranillo from Pedernales Cellars (Texas) and were not disappointed. Kudos to Eighteen Ninety for including Texas wines on their list. We were seated upstairs and appreciated being able to converse easily at a normal volume.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience at 1890. We had an exceptional waiter named Jim that made the night fun and carefree. The filet I had was very moist and tasteful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a local place to have a night out.

1890 is a great place to have dinner and drinks. The server was outstanding during our last visit, and the management is is very welcoming. We had one hiccup on the food order that was made right.

The only dish served that was not a 4-5 on the scale was the sauteed mushrooms. Instead of whole mushrooms sauteed in butter they were chopped with some other sides, onion and peppers, etc. and the dish would have been at best a 2 on a five point scale

we were disappointed. It was noisy to the point of being unable to converse with each other or get the waiters attention. We had to shout at her several times to be heard. Nor did she approach us to attend to our requests unless we called to get her attention.
No tablecloths or placemats. Really?! At those prices!
When our entree was served the waiter reached across one of us to serve the other rather than walk around the table to serve the second diner.
Is there an elevator for handicapped or seniors? If so one was not offered and we both would have appreciated a lift.
We were amazed at your limited menu: no shrimp cocktail, no baked potato. Too cliche?
ONE HIGH POINT: The steaks were outstanding! Best we have eaten in this area!
Sorry, we could not recommend 1890 to friends. Leaves too much to be desired.

Went for my moms birthday. Her salmon was undercooked for her liking. Waiters response was that’s the way the chef cooks it. Waiter came back out and said temp was 1 degree under where fish should be. Brought out 15 minutes later new plate of nicely cooked salmon. We all resumed eating our cold dinners. Food was good, just waitstaff should have handled situation differently.

The 1890 is one of our favorite places in Granbury and the closest thing to fine dining in the area. The 1890 has great food and service. Only the top restaurants in Fort Worth come close and they cost a whole lot more. The crab cake is real crab and plenty of it. The steaks are cooked perfectly and the service is friendly and helpful.

We always enjoy 1890. The servers and management know how to take care of us. They’re genuinely concerned about the quality of their food and take pride in serving what they offer. There’s a wide selection to choose from, all excellent. We’ve never been disappointed and look forward to returning

My wife and I were vendors at the Harvest Moon Art Festival in Granbury all weekend and we wanted to eat at 1890 after the final show. The food was very good overall. The only exception was one my main course. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were prepared very well as was the sauce. The downfall of the dish were the grits. They were very thick and clumpy. almost like oatmeal that has sat in the pan too long. I think they should have been smoother and not so thick. Otherwise, nice restaurant.

My wife and I went here for the first time and we weren’t sure what to expect but from the top down we had the best experience we could have asked for. The service was top notch and the food was out of this world! We highly recommend the bacon jalapeño Mac and cheese, it was without a doubt one of the best things I have ever eaten! In fact we bought another one to go so we could eat it again later.

Fabulous restaurant in so many ways! The overall experience from the bar for pre dinner drinks, to the hostess, the atmosphere, the very attentive and knowledgeable wait staff , ending with the outstanding menu items, presentation and quality!! Only complaint is in our party of 12, 10 of us live out of town so we can't eat there every night!! Well done! Cheers to 1890!!

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a great restaurant in a small lake community like Granbury. This restaurant would hold it's own in any major city.

Food was perfect. Wait staff was excellent. The dining area is very pretty.

We didn't have a single complaint and will definitely be going back.

For a $300 meal you shouldn't have to ask 4 different waiters for dressing for a salad, you shouldn't have to ask 5 times if the waitress could bring you the drink you ordered 30 minutes ago. Our waitress never brought the bread until we were finished with our meal,, never refilled our water glasses, never told us about specials for the evening, did not want to offer us dessert we almost had to demand to see the dessert menu. extremly loud and horrible service.

Very nice grille and lounge located right on the square in downtown Granbury. Ambiance was warm and inviting with the main dining areas residing upstairs. We had a nice view of the square from our table along with a terrific sunset. My wife and I both ordered steak - filet for her and I decided on the NY strip. The filet could have been cut with her fork it was so tender. My strip was very flavorful and in line for a sirloin cut. I may have ordered the ribeye if I had the chance to do it again. The sides, salads and wine were all paired perfect with our entrees. Our server was excellent, and Scott had a wealth of information about the restaurant and the local surroundings. In all I would highly recommend 1890 for anyone looking for upscale dining in Granbury with a casual atmosphere.
