Food was good, but service and bar were lacking. Missed silverware, we each got different types of spoons for the same soup, three of the same drinks each delivered differently. Little things, but not great execution.
Excellent service & food. Overall great experience
Steaks were so, so........My ribeye was tough and sinewy, the wife's fillet not much better. Cost was way too much for what was delivered and few choices for sides (mashed potatoes and string beans, wtf?) Third trip to the place and the it's the last.
The meal was good, but I feel as if the restaurant is overrated. There was nothing spectacular about the restaurant which made the meal overpriced. My center cut filet was good, but you should never put the steak on top of the mash potatoes. Also, the sauteed spinach was done properly, but lacked any flavor, as if the cook failed to salt it. My wife's duck breast was tough and she was disappointed. Moving on, we had to remind the waitress to bring us bread and we also had to ask for a water refill once when the waitress should have kept her eye on it. So, would we recommend the restaurant, yes, but understand that you are paying more than you should. For what my final bill was, I've had superior service and food elsewhere.
The moment we walked in to the moment we left was a treat. The restaurant understands its local roots with food and decor.
Server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered recommendations (although the recommendations were conveniently the most expensive items on the menu). General service was expected for the type of restaurant, but it didn’t have any wow moments (good or bad).
The food was excellent. Everyone raved about their individual means - pork, duck, and seafood.
While it is on the high end side for its location, it’s a great spot for a special night out or a memorable meal.
Zack our server was phenomenal! HIGHLY recommend his section. Food was wonderful. The bread was warm, soft, and went perfectly with the garlic olive oil and Mediterranean spice blend. Try not to fill up on the bread and oil/spice blend even though it is definitely one of the highlights of the meal.
We ordered the following:
- Crab martini (definitely recommend...large pieces of crab with a zingy vinaigrette)
-House salad (dressing was very tangy. Liked it for its uniqueness, not something you could find anywhere else)
-Cesar salad (traditional, and very well made. Not too creamy not to vinaigrettey)
-Filets (great meat! Tender and well cooked. Almost flavored perfectly... could have used a tad bit of garlic salt)
-Mashed potatoes (creamy)
-Corn (best corn I’ve ever had)
-Grits (perfectly cooked and flavored)
-Wilted Spinach (nice texture)
-Cheesecake topped with strawberries. (Traditional in taste, nice and fluffy...compliments of the restaurant for our anniversary)
-Justin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles, CA (very nice can)
Ambiance was perfect for our anniversary! Upscale restaurant elegantly decorated for the holidays with very friendly staff. The downstairs market was very cute, too! We bought a bottle of Tuscan herb olive oil (which is to die for), a jar of the Mediterranean spice blend (the one the restaurant serves with the bread and oil), and a bottle of the Neopolitan Herb Dark Balsamic (so flavorful)!
Food was good, service was excellent, price a little high but not to bad.
Crab Martini was an excellent starter.
Filet was delicious, though slightly overcooked(ordered medium, hot medium well). Skimpy on the side dish(mashed potatoes). Come on, Chef Jason, potatoes are inexpensive!👎
Beer samples were appreciated.
Chocolate martini was delicious, but at $15, max possible price was obviously charged.
Waitresses were a bit over-eager to clear dishes(please let me finish). I realize that you wanted to turn my table, but for a $150 meal for 2, let me enjoy a leisurely meal.
There were plenty of open tables, anyhow.
Crime brûlée was well-made!
As always, we had great service & delicious food. The perfect spot to celebrate our anniversary.
Very good atmosphere and the service was fantastic. Food was very good but menu slightly restricted
We were seated promptly and our server was friendly and attentive. The filets were outstanding - fork tender with wonderful flavor. Sides and dessert were excellent as well.
Completely ruined by a drunk party of 6 seated next to us! No one in the room could enjoy their meal because of this loud obnoxious group. Very sad that they were able to ruin such a nice dinner for several tables. Perhaps they should have been seated downstairs near the lounge! Very disappointed!
I got to eat at 1890 Thursday and Friday. Pork chop(my favorite) on Thursday and a filet Friday. Absolutely no complaints either night. Love it
Server efficient and friendly
Was familiar with menu
Relaxing and comfortable place to dine
Food was excellent!!
Excellent food & service
The food was good. Appetizers, desserts and service were great but the steaks were good. I was actually a bit underwhelmed. A $48 ribeye should be a well-marbled prime cut and cooked to perfection. I never mind paying good money for great food, but I expect the level of excellence to be commiserate to the price. My dad’s, son’s, and my ribeyes were medium (ordered medium rare), dry (because they were overcooked), and lacked flavor (because they were dry and overcooked). Our waitress comped some desserts for us and said her manager was going to stop by our table but he never did. In their defense, the restaurant was hosting a large wedding party downstairs but that’s a poor excuse for low quality and the chef’s lack of attention to detail on our steaks.
Food is always good and consistent. Service and atmosphere is excellent. Only suggestion would be to offer more specials for regular diners, or change the menu up occasionally. Love the trilogy appetizer.
Arrived 15 min early for reservation and was told we could be seated right away. 20 min later we were still waiting. This is ridiculous. I understand if can't seat until table ready but don't leave your customers waiting. I would have been happy to sit in bar for a drink for 15 min but communication was severely lacking by both male and female hosts on duty 10/29. Service was inattentive for only having 4 tables to wait on. The only redeeming thing about the evening was the food, which was fantastic (filet and shrimp/grits)! So much potential to make this a truly special restaurant. If you can put up with the average service for above average food then dine here.
This is our spot, we love this restaurant, we dine here at least once every other month. However, they fell short this time. As a party of two, the host sat us downstairs right between two large parties of 6 to 10 people in each so, we couldn't hear one another. Being our anniversary, it would've been nice for it to be a quiet, romantic ambiance, unfortunately it wasn't. The food also fell short this time. So, we aren't sure if they have a new chef, but we always share the mac n cheese and this time it made us both sick. Last time it was just dry, but this time it was lumpy, the cheese wasn't melted and we both had an upset stomach. I think we are taking a break from our place and let them work out whatever has them slacking. We recommend this restaurant usually and buy gift cards, shop in the market... But, we expect exceptional and the last couple of times they haven't been. We want our last time to be as good as our first, hopefully they fix the issues.
Excellent as always! Great food, great service, and great atmosphere!
Always a wonderful time. Our favorite restaurant in Granbury.
Our waiter Jimmy is awesome drinks & food fabulous & love the bar area and bartenders everyone so friendly and helpful
Hands down the best steak in the Fort Worth area! The service is top notch!
Every year we visit Granbury, we dine at 1890 Grill. The food is consistently excellent. This year, the service was friendly and helpful as usual, but there were some staffing issues. Our server had a new person she was training and she had FAR too many tables to take care of.
How she managed, we don't know, but she was really working hard and trying to keep up. The restaurant really needs to add to the number of servers and not expect a couple of servers to handle a whole dining room floor. This place can afford to hire enough help and needs to do so.
Always consistently good. Love the atmosphere that you can carry on conversations with loud music in the background. Great place to meet friends and have dinner or go on a date with your honey.
Very good wait staff and the food was prepared excellent. Every little item that we asked them to do like how our salmon and steak were cooked was welcomed and the when served was what we had asked for. Would recommend to anyone looking for a special night out. It was our anniversary and we could not have asked for better service or meal. Not cheep but you get what you pay for with the care the staff takes to be sure you have a great experience
Meeting old friends
We enjoyed our entire evening. Everything was excellent. We will be returning.
It was a great experience for my birthday. The food was excellent. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars all the way across is that at times service kind of drug. It was a Thursday night and not crowded. The drinks are prepared downstairs so it took some time to come upstairs and then waiting for the check. But yes, I will absolutely be coming back.
Our server, Jose, made our dinner a very pleasant experience. Great food cooked perfectly. Friendly staff. Overall great experience.
great place, great food, service can be slow but very polite
Great food, service, & atmosphere
Seafood pasta was excellent, steaks were ordered medium but came a little more medium rare but still ok. Texas Trio serving was a bit small for $18 but still tasty. Felt our waitress tried to push a few extra sales on us but she was nice
Work dinner - celebrating great customer and partnership
Outstanding service!!! Outstanding food!!! We will be back for sure!!!
My husband and I treated another couple to dinner. The other couple are regulars. This was our second visit. The new downstairs dining area is beautiful and made for a delightful setting for our dinner.
The other couple wife selected the Texas Trilogy and loved it as she always does; and her husband selected the Salmon and found it excellent. (Note, the salmon was plain not buried in a glaze or sauce.)
My husband selected the pork entree having had it before, but it was not the same: the cut of pork was not easily carved to eat, and the sauce over powering for the pork. I selected the shrimp and grits - the shrimp were excellent but the entree was floating in the sauce - too much. So we were very disappointed.
We will be back, however, we will ask for sauces to be on the side. We prefer to taste the main ingredients of the entree, not just the sauce or glaze or chutney or...
Most of the meal was good, appetizers, soups and salads, and my wife’s pork chop were all very good, however the ribeye was the worst steak I have ever had at a restaurant, the temperature was cooked perfect just like I asked however it was just not good, I asked my wife to try it and she said the same. Bottom line I would go back but will never order a steak again.
the service was excellent,so was the food and we were celebrating our 29 th anniversary and received a free desert . would highly recommend it to anyone thanks again for a great evening.
