Great steak and sides.
Nice, helpful and engaging server.
One of our favorites! The food never disappoints and the service is friendly and informed.
We had a 7:00 reservation and had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated. Very nice atmosphere inside, but once we ordered we had to wait over an hour and 15 minutes for our food. The food was good but it seemed like a long time to wait when the restaurant was not completely full. The manager did come by and apologize and comped a dessert for us.
Food is wonderful, service was great. Overall great experience.
Had long time friends come to town for a visit. They were most impressed.
Our Anniversary dinner was very nice, quiet and romantic. Jem was our server and we enjoyed his casual elegant style.
1890 has a well earned and deserved reputation for outstanding food and service. This was our first time there for dinner and we were a group of 7. Because one of our group was unable to climb the stairs (which I notified them of during the reservation process via OpenTable) they sat us in our own downstairs dining area and gave us our own wait staff. The service was fantastic, the meals were amazing, the wine list was extensive and the deserts were the perfect cap to a wonderful experience. This is not an inexpensive restaurant so be prepared. However, as a special treat for yourself and/or guests you cannot go wrong! Also, this was the first time I used OpenTable as a reservation format and was a little nervous about communicating my special needs request so I called to check after it was made and sure enough, they had everything perfect.
Wedge salad was 1/3 the size of a regular wedge. Ribeye steak had a lot of fat meat was tuff not worth $48.00. Green beans undercooked nd potatoe soup barely warm. Made reservation for 7:30 to be told when we arrived that 3 other reservations were a head of us that was also scheduled for 7:30. When finally seated it was at a table that had been empty the whole time we were there. Our waiter appeared not interested in what we wanted or needed.
Upscale dining with excellent service.
Great food, beautiful setting. My only concern was I ordered a lemon drop martini but received something very different and not in martini glass. Have had them before so was looking forward to it. Didn’t want to complain so just went with it. Everything else was wonderful and the caramel brûlée best I’ve ever had!!
A dining experience that creates a special evening--the historical building, attentive professional service, and creative dishes that lived up to the description. The duck was some of the best with a crisp skin and a moist, tender center. Shrimp and grits are right there with the best of any southern kitchen.
Ribeye was phenomenal. Loved the spinach artichoke dip. The soup could have been hotter.
My wife and I recently had our anniversary dinner at 1890. The food, which is consistently excellent< was more of the same. Outstanding meal. Even better was our server Jim. Personable, knowledgeable, and engaging. He made it a very fun experience.
Eighteen Ninety always meets and exceeds our expectations!
Our food and drinks were amazing. We had the best waitress named Brittany. We have been several times and this was the best service ever.
The restaurant is in a beautiful historic building, very well decorated. The food was great!! There were six in my party and everyone raved about the food and drinks. Very tasty and abundant portions. Service by Charles was impeccable! We will return!!
My husband and I had an amazing dinner with an amazing waiter Charles! We love the restaurant and the market. Thank you for a beautiful experience.
Before going to the Granbury Theater, our group of 8 dined here. We were seated upstairs which was lovely. Our waitress and others couldn't have been more attentive, the food was delicious. The original stone walls add such a warm ambiance but also make it slightly loud at peak hours. Loved the original artwork for sale on the walls. We will definitely be back.
Great food and service but a little loud. Probably due to rock walls. We will go back.
Food was excellent. Love the pork chop. Our wait staff, Anna, was outstanding.
Once a month visit. Always good.
This place gets better every time. We had such a great night.
We go here for all our special occasions. The food is most excellent and our waiter Jim is the absolute best, attention to every detail. The spinach artichoke dip is to die for. We had the 8 oz. filet and I don’t know where you can get a better steak. We highly recommend this restaurant not just for special occasions but anytime.
We enjoyed the food and service. It was a nice quiet.
Lighting was a little low, hard for us older folks to read the menu but other than that it was great!
We think that the atmosphere here is nice and quiet, good food, wine and servicer. A very comfortable, quiet evening is possible, unlike most places
Jem was an excellent server, very personable! Great experience overall!
We returned to the 1890 Grille this year after the Granbury Art Show and enjoyed a delicious dinner with outstanding service. The restaurant has now opened the large downstairs room as a secondary dining room in which we were seated. The main dining room upstairs is much preferred because it is cozier and next to the kitchen.
I asked whether the kitchen was enlarged to help serve the large number of tables downstairs and the answer was no. As a result, the servers have to carry the meals down a stairway to get to the first floor dining room. This and the fact that the kitchen hasn't been enlarged caused long delays in getting our food courses. This was our only negative, it took a long time to get our meal courses and complete the dinner.
My husband had been there several times so we decided to take some friends. Their food came out cold! The salads had to be taken back twice because they were wrong. Weren’t offered dessert. When we got our food correct it was good.
We choice 1890 for the second year in a row to celebrate family birthdays. It was delightful. The service was excellent and the food was exceptional. We already decided to return for the birthday celebrations again next year.
Lovely experience. Food and service were excellent. Filet was cooked perfectly and paired well with sides. Appreciated split wedge salad at no charge.
Well prepared vodka gimlet before dinner cocktail.
Second time here and looking forward to the third visit.
Ordered the Texas Trilogy and found it incredibly dry and salty. Would not recommend. We ordered a salad but it did not arrive. Waitress removed it from our ticket. Ribeye was good but over salted as well. Wanted the Kahlua Chocolate Bunt Cake but it was not available. All in all, not a good dining experience this time around. :(
Steaks were excellent, perfectly cooked as ordered. Service was exceptional for Granbury.
Salmon had no flavor
Husband’s trip was good
Waiter was ok
Celebrating 2 bdays ! Drove in from Ft Worth & it’s never disappointing! Love 1890!!
This is an excellent restaurant - great service and delicious food. As with any high end quality eatery, the prices reflect the value. However, I find the steaks at the Eighteen Ninety Grille comparable to more expensive places in Fort Worth and a better value. Try it.
Really enjoyed dinner. The filet was very tender, and the chicken excellent. The chips and crab were great Desserts of Crete brûlée and banana pudding wonderful! Highly recommend. The drinks came a little slow initially, but the bar is downstairs, and dining is upstairs.
Had a wonderful dinner on a busy night for the restaurant. Service was outstanding and friendly. Food was quite good - will go back
The menu seems pretty limited. There were more wine options than food options.
Great as always. Food wonderful and staff is on top of things. Wine selection is good and their Margarita is the best.
