The food, as always, was fantastic. They steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious.
After a little snafu with a rickety table and some spilled wine, we more than enjoyed our salads, steak, and sides. Food was great (filet was cooked perfectly, garlic mashed was excellent) but the ambiance could have been better. Seems like this neighborhood gem has some extremely obnoxious regulars that can get away with being extraordinarily loud and corralling the attention of ALL staff members. As the space is small, you can definitely hear EVERYTHING.
Love the food and service. Will be back. Delicious!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. My wife and I love this place.
Best Steak place in JC!! Hands down the best place east of Manhattan for steak, great neighborhood spot in Jersey city.
Do not eat steak here, not worth it. Very bad steak.
The service was great and the food was awesome. Great place to dine.
Always amazing here! We were celebrating our anniversary and they surprised us with champagne! We are never disappointed.
My only qualm was the lack of a prominent sign outside, which made it hard to find. Service and food were great.
Great food at a great price. The staff was extremely accommodating with my 8 month old son.
Everything was perfect! And the service outstanding!!
Always happy at Edwards great food and service great wine list steak is the best
Our party of four each head something different from steaks to Seafood. All food was fresh and prepared excellent. The wine selection was also full of value and great tasting wines. I'll waiter Tim went over and Beyond with service. I highly recommend this restaurant for excellent food.
Best steak I've had in years! Escargot was good not great. Cappuccino martini awesome
The ambiance here is great. We were with 2 very small children and were given a large table and prompt service for food to satisfy kids. Level of service was excellent. The four adults shared carpaccio, bacon and baked clams as appetizers. The bacon was described as the house specialty but it was more like pork belly. The clams were wonderful...the carpaccio was termed excellent..not my favorite. Dinners were the large filet mignon tonbe shared by one adult and the children...they were in heaven. Side dishes were hash browns, asparagus and onion straws...all excellent. The other 3 adults ordered the tomahawk ribeye to share. The first steak was full of gristle...and was sent back. No questions asked and a second steak was brought...cooked rare but the quality was not what we are used to or expect when paying $120 for it. Next time we will certainly order differently.
This is a cozy place to get a steak that tastes like a big-time NYC steakhouse.
A true steakhouse with everything you would expect. Great cuts of meat, and excellent apps and sides.
Loved the food, but I find it a little too dark. I think they need some better lighting.
Steak always very good. Mac & Cheese and sides not at all this time.
Wonderful dinner, great food and superb service.
Had the crab cake appetizer, deliciously creamy risotto (without the asparagus) and an incredible Kansas City steak at the suggestion of Mario, our very attentive waiter.
As always the service was excellent, thank you to the staff!
One the best and most consistent places in town. This has been a gem for years , amazing food , cocktails and service.
Staff is attentive but not overbearing which is always a plus. The filet mignon was creamy and delicious. And their appetizer roll is a must to get. The New York Strip was a bit chewy so when I go back I’ll try another dish. It’s an intimate place where you can have date night and actually hear each other. Overall, I would recommend.
Service was slow and there were only three tables of diners. Food was good but not very hot so disappointing.
Food was very good. Tried it for restaurant week, and would go back. Have recommended to friends already.
The steak for 2 was just amazing. The calamari and the baked clams were outstanding. Great service.
We went for a birthday dinner and had the restaurant week menu. The table we were given was awkwardly placed but ok. The meal was delicious but it was oddly served on a small buffet plate and was a little difficult to eat. We were ignored a bit on service — eg, no salt and pepper on the table.
I've lived in Jersey City for 20 years and unfortunately never made it to Edward's. What I've been missing! Nice atmosphere (had a table upstairs) and quiet (so you could easily carry on a conversation with your dining partner). Food and service was perfect. I never had (or heard of) Ice Box Cake. Wow, was that a treat! Would recommend Edward's highly and look forward to my next visit.
The food was ok, don’t see the chef going the extra mile for anything.
Restaurant week menu is fine with the amount of food they give out which is a lot but there was no flavor at all. My lamb was slightly under cook and my calamari over cook. I Have to say that the server did his job even though he seems to be new there. 5 stars to the wine, Riesling was the best part of the meal. I think this restaurant has a lot of potential to be one of the best since there is nothing like it around it to compete. I’ll probably go back and hopefully see some changes.
Reasonably priced for the quality of offerings. Filet mignon was a absolutely delectable- melt in your mouth. Best steak in JC
Some of the best dry aged beef around. The sides are enough to share.
My wife and I went to Edward's to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The service was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The food was delicious. We both ordered steaks and they came cooked as requested, medium rare. The owner was also attentive.
Edwards never disappoints..I'd put this spot against any steak in the city
Manhattan, Williamsburg, Manhattan, Great Neck, Manhattan? Ha! Jersey City and Edward's Steak House!
No matter where you live, it is worth the trip to Marin Boulevard and the amazing meal and service you'll find at Edward's. We came up from East Brunswick and our friends came south from Chappaqua for great dinner. We met at the bar and enjoyed their specials and some standards. Some drinks are specially priced before 7:00 PM. We were shown to our table and we started with a Caprese Salad and our friends, a Caesar's Salad. We loved splitting the rack of lamb (four baby lamb chops each) and our friends each had the special burger. The burgers were huge with two slabs of bacon and cheese on a really nice roll. The sides were wonderful as well-Baked potato (best I've EVER eaten-with NO toppings), creamed spinach, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes and french fries. Creme Brule and berries for dessert with cappuccino. Let's not forget the wonderful Sancerre to go with the meal. The wait staff, from bar to our waiter, Sebastian, who almost knew our thoughts before we spoke them and the rest of the wait staff could not have been better.
If you have the opportunity, you should take it. That's Edward's Steakhouse in Jersey City-DON'T FORGET!
Upstairs has no atmosphere- and with all you’re spending- a little atmosphere would be nice. Food is all good, bread is great service is great. Steaks are great but NY pricey.
Fantastic service. Everyone is wonderful and attentive. The cocktails are always great. H
Awesome service and AMAZING food! Good variety on the menu. Loved that we were able to relax and enjoy our meal without being rushed out. Definitely will be back!
Great service, fantastic food, as always. Just a great steakhouse.
The food was good, though at $105 for the proterhouse for 2... I was hoping for consistent midrare all the way through. Oddly, the tenderloin side was more medium. The service was great! Ask for Mario! I would suggest taking a reservation earlier than 7:45 on Sunday as they close at 9 and we felt a bit rushed at the end of the evening.
