Eduardo de San Angel
We've eaten at this restaurant several times and enjoy the food mostly. The cilantro soup is amazing and one of the reasons we return time and again. This last occasion we were a table of 4 and my companions all enjoyed their food. Their menu items were the peppercorn trout, the short ribs, and jumbo shrimp pasta. We also shared the stuffed poblano peppers appetizer which was delicious. I had the special appetizer as my main course, the crabcake over a portabello mushroom and topped with salad. It was disappointing as it was dry and not very tasty. On a previous occasion I also was disappointed with the stuffed filet mignon. I wouldn't order those items again but I will return to this restaurant as I've had several enjoyable meals and their menu is not typical of what you would normally find on a Mexican restaurant menu.
We love coming here. The bean soup is better than sunshine on a cloudy day! The menu is innovative and everything we tried was superb. We have been coming for years and look forward to dining here each time we are back in Florida. The service is impeccable. The only reason I rated the noise level high was because when we dined last time there was a patron who was practically loud during the whole dinner and was seated next to us. Normally the noise level is just fine.
This is a 5 star restaurant!
Service was attentive but unknowledgeable. The waiters, although very pleasant, looked like they were still in high school. Several questions I had caused the waiter to return to the kitchen for an answer. I also asked for a club soda with lime. The waiter returned to inform me that they did not have club soda or limes. Really? A Mexican restaurant with no limes? How did they make the guacamole I ordered (which was very good)? He also forgot to bring bread to the table. I ordered bacon wrapped filet mignon. It was tough, undercooked and wrapped with a strip of greasy undercooked fat. I doubt it was Prime steak. The various sauces were good ie; tomatillo, salsa verde and mole. I should have sent it back but I did't want my guest to feel uncomfortable eating alone. Besides...if you have had the restaurant for 30 years you shouldn't be letting food like I got out of the kitchen. Aside from 3 or 4 sauces, Eduardo de San Angel is nothing special.
Great food and service
Always a pleasure
Great for a date or special occasion. Food and service was fantastic.
The restaurant was artistically decorated with a fountain behind our table, flowers and cherub statues on the wall. The waiter was very attentive. We ordered the cilantro soup based on previous reviews. It was great. We also enjoyed the black bean ravioli and the special grilled mahi-mahi. Overall, it’s a great place for a date.
Really gourmet dining with fresh ingredients, lovely presentation , charming atmosphere. Much more than you’d expect from strip mall exterior.
Always enjoy dining there. A favorite when we are visiting the area.
The Cilantro soup is a must have. Simply WOW.
What a sublime experience -- the food was out of this world. The service was excellent. This is a true gem
Celebrating 70 th birthday at his favorite restaurant! Everything was perfect
Eduardo does an awesome job and the food is so fresh. He so creative with his dishes and the desserts are all homemade! If you have not been, you have to go. It’s a great place for anniversaries and special dinners.
Gilbert was attentive and knowledgeable of the specials. We will go back.
As usual, outstanding. Ive been coming here over 15 yrs. Cilantro soup is a must. I had the skirt steak. It was juicy and great taste. You have never eaten Mexican food like this.
I have visited this outstanding restaurant several years ago. When I returned to ft lauderdale I knew I had to eat here again because it is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in my worldly travels. The service was outstanding as was the different courses. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Worth the drive! We don't live near Eduardo de San Angel but it is worth the drive! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food has always been superb. The wines are fairly priced. They had a special going on with various special Mexican tapas/appetizers which we took advantage of and enjoyed! Going to this restaurant is always a treat!
We chose this from The lonely planet guide and we weren't disappointed. From the corn bread to the guacamole to the sauteed shrimp and then the bread pudding with rum and caramel, it was amazing!
Tasteful meals, fantastic Mexican flavors, great ambiance and service. Ask for the menu of the day before you do get to open your printed menu. We are raving fans of Eduardo's kitchen.
The food was creative and beautifully presented, The service was exceptional. I had not been at this restaurant for many years since we moved many miles away. It was certainly worth the wait and we will return in the future. The only problem was at the entrance there is a capoy which is quite low and I banged my head when walking in. I am 6'6'and this was closer to 6'.The staff let it slide.
As always an expertly prepared meal with top notch service. This is our goto restaurant for special occasions for the last 15 years.
Never disappoints. Lovely staff, incredible food, warm and inviting environment.
Great food and service! Waiter was very attentive and the food was delicious.
Great place with impecable service and food. Will definitely make it a regular stop on trips to South Florida.
Fantastic food and service. Dont miss the Cilantro Soup!
GOOD FOOD, GOOD WINE, CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING.
No liquor. Mediocre food. Our waiter said half of the dishes were not good. Unfortunately we couldn’t leave at that point. The cilantro soup was nice.
Never disappointed! Eduardo’s always delivers wonderful food and the best service.
A hidden gem in South Florida! They are always very gracious! Very authentic food, very fresh and tasty! Well worth the drive in the Ft Lauderdale Area.
This is by far the best restaurant in Fort Lauderdale! As a foodie you will enjoy the exceptional blends of taste and herbs with local fish. The steak is remarkable and the ravioli stuffed with black bean sauce will make you go back again and again...oh an the deserts...heaven on a plate! Eduardo is extending the Crave menu for the month of October...walk, run or fly to get a seat!
Fantastic! The food was amazing and service was on point!
Not as good as I remembered it. The lamb was pale outside and not grilled enough. In fact it looked broiled instead. The pepper fish was on the dry side. I don’t think we will be going back. Something has changed.
In 25 years I have never been disappointed. Eduardo is an amazing chef and his work is a true dining experience. Top on the list for Fort Lauderdale! Already made another reservation to return next week!
This was our second visit there and we really love this rest. Will come again.
My fourth time in one year at this restaurant. It will not be my last. Never disappoints. Excellent in all respects. Appetizers, pork, shrimp, yellow tail, yellow fin ahi tuna, all delicious...hard to choose.
Eduardo de San Angel continues to be one
of Fort Lauderdake’s best restaurants with
excellent and attentive service.
Dinner with 7 people, service was outstanding and food was out of this world. Will be going back soon!
Has consistently been one of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale for 30 years. Don't miss the cilantro soup!
We went to try their Crave menu for the month of September. The bread and corn bread they serve is so warm and fresh right out of the oven so good! The appetizers were good but nothing great. We had the eggplant appetizer and what seemed like a taco with pork and carnitas. Then we had the beef tenderloin tips which were excellent and to finish off our dinner we had the decadent chocolate marquise with a shot of rumchata that was also very good. The place is very romantic and intimate and the service was great
Outstanding as usual. Everything is delicious from appetizer to entree to desert. Great wine selection as well. It’s a must try for dinner. Not cheap Mexican food, upscale and worth the price.
