Eduardo de San Angel
I’ve been here many times, this is the first time I was disappointed. The two crab appetizers had interesting flavors, but crab wasn’t Among them. The filet stuffed with cheese and poblano was cooked way too much and was not very good.
One of our best meals ever. Food was delicious. Service excellent. We will be back.
Not your typical Mexican restaurant in a good way. Will definitely be going back.
Service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. Wine was a good value too.
superb food and service, wife asked to have her birthday dinner there.
We love the cilantro bean soup and would walk a mile on our knees for it.. the cuisine is fabulous and very innovative . Service is always knowledgeable ...excellent low lighting and serene ambiance. This is a gem!
This was our favorite restaurant during our recent week long stay in Fort Lauderdale. My wife had the duck (I finished it) and it was perfectly cooked with a delicious crispy skin. I had the lamb chops: terrific. By the way, we both started with a cilantro soup which was a surprise how creamy it was without thickeners.
Not least was how easy it was to carry on a conversation during dinner; the low noise level increased our enjoyment of the meal greatly.
Excelente food.. our waiter outstanding as always, I live in sunny isles and the drive is so worth.
Our waiter was exceptional - very sweet and attentive. We sat at the worst table in the restaurant - it was in an enclosed area very close to another table. These tables were enclosed by brick walls that you couldn't see over. My date was forced to look at a corner, while I at least could see the top of people's heads in the other part of the dining area. We weren't impressed at all with the decor either - there were a lot of old cherubs. Above my head resting on the ledge of the wall were brochures and toothpicks - not classy at all. We thought about leaving after I ordered Rose (which they didn't have by the glass) but we toughed it out. My fish was ok but my date's skirt steak was chewy. There are too many lovely places to go in this area to go back there, no matter how much it costs.
Outstanding, creative, fresh and innovative cuisine
Superb and uniquely prepared dishes. Classic and creative real Mexican cuisine with frequently a bit of spice and heat. Not sure I have ever been to a restaurant that matches the culinary techniques. The Cilantro soup is a stunning and flavorful dish. Mahi was best I have eaten.
It’s been consistently good since they opened in 1994 . Food is even better these days !
Reviews reported this restaurant to be farm to table. Thought it would be more gluten free friendly as the cuisine lends itself to gluten free easily. Ordered a peppercorn crusted yellowtail which was very fresh but peppercorns overpowered the fish. Cilantro soup delicious. Would like to see more authentic Mexican regional cuisine as expected... menu is more of every day American with a few Mexican flavors tossed in. Decor is elegant and beckons a more imaginative adventurous menu.
The food was excellent! Presentation was terrific . The flavor of everything we tasted was esquisite. It was our first time and we will definybe back for more! You must have the cilantro soup. The guacamole was amazing too!!
What a delightful time we had at Eduardo de San Angel. We celebrated 4 February birthdays among friends and family, and we could not have chosen a better restaurant for the excellent service and delicious food. We split around 6 of the appetizers and of course we had a bowl of the famous Cilantro Soup! The entrees which were steak for some and mahi-mahi for others, were exquisite. Thank you Paul for taking such good care of us and making us all feel like royalty. Needless to say, we will return many times in the future. Thank you Chef Eduardo for all the culinary deliciousness!!!!!
This is an outstanding restaurant featuring authentic Mexican cuisine, careful attention to detail, excellent and helpful service in a quiet, appropriate environment with beautiful background music. We highly recommend it.
Excellent food and service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made some fantastic recommendations.
Both myself and my husband were a bit disappointed with the food this time. My husband's steak was a little well done, and I wasn't told my fish came with a thick white sauce on top. The service was very good, as always.
The food and service are always great when we go there.
Luv it. The food, the chef and the servers are absolutely terrific.
I luv it when the chef comes out to say hello. Very personal.
I’m impressed by this gem of a restaurant.
Family gathering was fabulous! Great place
Amazing, great great food and great service. Will go again next time we are in town.
We’ve always loved the food at San Angel. Our latest visit Friday evening was up to the best, great appetizers with Mexican flare and fresh fish entrees.
We've eaten at this restaurant several times and enjoy the food mostly. The cilantro soup is amazing and one of the reasons we return time and again. This last occasion we were a table of 4 and my companions all enjoyed their food. Their menu items were the peppercorn trout, the short ribs, and jumbo shrimp pasta. We also shared the stuffed poblano peppers appetizer which was delicious. I had the special appetizer as my main course, the crabcake over a portabello mushroom and topped with salad. It was disappointing as it was dry and not very tasty. On a previous occasion I also was disappointed with the stuffed filet mignon. I wouldn't order those items again but I will return to this restaurant as I've had several enjoyable meals and their menu is not typical of what you would normally find on a Mexican restaurant menu.
We love coming here. The bean soup is better than sunshine on a cloudy day! The menu is innovative and everything we tried was superb. We have been coming for years and look forward to dining here each time we are back in Florida. The service is impeccable. The only reason I rated the noise level high was because when we dined last time there was a patron who was practically loud during the whole dinner and was seated next to us. Normally the noise level is just fine.
This is a 5 star restaurant!
One of the great restaurants in the entire country in my opinion
food is consistently spot on
ambience is warm and comforting
a destination for me when I go to Florida
Service was attentive but unknowledgeable. The waiters, although very pleasant, looked like they were still in high school. Several questions I had caused the waiter to return to the kitchen for an answer. I also asked for a club soda with lime. The waiter returned to inform me that they did not have club soda or limes. Really? A Mexican restaurant with no limes? How did they make the guacamole I ordered (which was very good)? He also forgot to bring bread to the table. I ordered bacon wrapped filet mignon. It was tough, undercooked and wrapped with a strip of greasy undercooked fat. I doubt it was Prime steak. The various sauces were good ie; tomatillo, salsa verde and mole. I should have sent it back but I did't want my guest to feel uncomfortable eating alone. Besides...if you have had the restaurant for 30 years you shouldn't be letting food like I got out of the kitchen. Aside from 3 or 4 sauces, Eduardo de San Angel is nothing special.
Great food and service
Always a pleasure
Great for a date or special occasion. Food and service was fantastic.
The restaurant was artistically decorated with a fountain behind our table, flowers and cherub statues on the wall. The waiter was very attentive. We ordered the cilantro soup based on previous reviews. It was great. We also enjoyed the black bean ravioli and the special grilled mahi-mahi. Overall, it’s a great place for a date.
Really gourmet dining with fresh ingredients, lovely presentation , charming atmosphere. Much more than you’d expect from strip mall exterior.
Always enjoy dining there. A favorite when we are visiting the area.
The Cilantro soup is a must have. Simply WOW.
What a sublime experience -- the food was out of this world. The service was excellent. This is a true gem
Celebrating 70 th birthday at his favorite restaurant! Everything was perfect
Eduardo does an awesome job and the food is so fresh. He so creative with his dishes and the desserts are all homemade! If you have not been, you have to go. It’s a great place for anniversaries and special dinners.
Gilbert was attentive and knowledgeable of the specials. We will go back.
