Edison - Omni Grove Park Inn
Wonderful meal. NY strip grilled to perfection with great taste. Lobster Mac and Cheese was a delicious side. Fantastic service.
Food and service good. Lighting a little industrial.
I had the vegetable board that had garlic spread, olive tapanade, hummus and pita along with cold roasted root vegetables. While the spreads and pita were delicious, I found the cold root vegetables visually unappealing and not very tasty. The potatoes were shriveled up. I also had the mushroom tart with poached egg on top. Everything was delicious except the tart shell. It was very dry and looked mass-produced rather than homemade. I also had a cup of butternut squash soup, which was delicious. My daughter enjoyed her pickle-brined chicken sandwich and the cocktails we had were very good.
We received great service and amazing food. We received the special seating that we had requested and the ambiance was perfect.
Lovely, all around
Quiet attentive service. Excellent quality and fast service
We weren’t sure about this place first. But once we sat down, atmosphere was great. Our server was AWESOME. Food was amazing. I highly recommend this place.
We've eaten here before and had an excellent experience. This time, it took over an hour from the time we received our appetizers to the time we received our dinners. The veggie burger was mushy and the yard bird hot sauce was 'give me every glass of water on the table' hot. We asked for mustard and never got it. Don't know what the hold up was in the kitchen, but the waiter and manager did apologize. Many angry complaining customers this night. After dinner we sat by one of the outside fireplaces with comfy chairs, but there was no bar service on the patio area. Disappointing visit.
We had a good meal but were disappointed with the service, had to wait over an hour for our food, it was busy but not that busy.
We had a great time. We enjoyed the view and the food. The server was great.
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! Would highly recommend!
I love the Grove Park Inn and my meal at Edison was fantastic. My husband and I shared the beets and grits, Caesar salad, the mushroom tart. Plenty of food and delicious. The restaurant is cozy, but not quiet. Also, I am short and the proportions of chair to table were a little awkward for me, and even for my husband. However, I noticed other guests sitting on cushions and i quickly received one as soon as I asked. I will definitely return. Oh, and make sure to check out the fireplace, I think it was originally the outdoor fireplace with the original structure.
We had great service, beautiful view from our table. Next to a large group , and everyone respected each other, no loud voiced. We loved it See you in Feb. AWood
Loved the Edison restaurant at Omni Grove! Really a great experience and great food. It is a little expensive but definitely something I would do again.
Great food and wonderful environment
beautiful space with delicious food.
Food was delicious, good pricing and service excellent.
Loved our waitress. Food was average but awesome spot.
Busy day on December 31st. Food and service were great, but the floor needed some serious sweeping. Management should really take better care of cleanliness in the restaurant.
2 couples. All 4 ordered different dishes. Everyone liked food. Cabbage apple salad was great. Wonderful service.
Very disappointing. After looking at the pictures and reading the menu we expected a totally different experience. It has the ambience of a sports bar. The food was overpriced for how mediocre it was. We took out of town guests thinking that since there are so many wonderful restaurants in Asheville this would also be good given its part of the Grove park but we were wrong.
Live in Asheville. Terrible experience...all four of us commented on the fact that nobody seemed to care. We expect a resort to be pricey, but this is as expensive as anything in Asheville...and average at best. Over cooked, not hot with marginal service.
Ok, it was very busy...New Year s weekend, but no excuse for the food quality. A $52 9 oz fillet!
We had a manager come over asking how everything was...it was obvious to all of us when he left, he didn’t really care what we had to say...we all looked at each other and laughed it off.
Waitress could care less as well. Amazing to us...
We love the Grove Park and consider it one of Asheville’s treasures. Just go somewhere else to eat. Many great restaurants just down the hill.
The feeling we were left with when the bill showed up was “we got screwed “ and taken advantage of. We rarely have ever felt that way with the restaurants we love in this beautiful town.
Inside hotel. Trendy place. Fresh food. Large portions. Large beer, wine and cocktail menu. Scenic view. TV’s.
The grilled bacon and cheese with tomato soup was outstanding. The chocolate dipped bacon for dessert is a must have.
With our reservation we walked right in and were shown our seat, which was right at the window looking out over a beautiful Mountain View. Service was quick and thorough, with a great grasp of the food and drink choices. Lunch came out in a timely manner. All aspects of the food and drink were generously sized and very tasty! We skipped dessert but got a hot chocolate after walking some of the property. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Braised Short Rib .. Excellent!!
Fabulous! Absolute holiday must. Food was terrific, cocktails were wonderful, scenery and overall festiveness of the hotel was electric - what a destination.
Great place for lunch!
Every trip to the Grove Park Inn is accompanied by a dinner or lunch at Edison and it is usually great but sadly this visit was not very pleasant. Our server took forever to greet us once we sat down and was only at our table to take our order and to drop the check off. He never once checked on us to see how our meal was and if we needed anything else. I had to flag down a manager just to get some pepper for salad. We aren't very needy diners but a little attention would have been nice!
The service was average in the restaurant but amazing everywhere else. The food was great!
We had a great lunch there and enjoyed the view and the fireplace. Grove Park Inn is beautiful and was well dressed for Christmas!
An annual treat around the holidays! Great ambiance. Love the tables by the fireplace and there are tables that allow you to view the beautiful mountains of WNC. Food is good, but a tad expensive. Service has always been great!! We've never had an issue with any server we've had. They know the menu and when to "come and go."
Yummy food, good service, and a fabulous view!
The food was excellent! Our server, Jessica, was friendly and attentive.
Would definitely recommend and eat there again.
As a former employee i love GPI. my meal was amazing as always and thanks to Joel Mauck Chef of Edison. My christmas dinner for myself and son was the best. THANK YOU.
We came to Omni Grove Inn for Xmas dinner as we were visiting from out of town. Spectacular views, festive atmosphere and the whole experience perfect
My husband and I were visiting the area and dined here on Christmas. We were not staying at the hotel, but nearby. The food and service were excellent. The only down side was we had to pay $20 to park on the premises for a 1.5 hour meal. There was no validation available. I don’t know if it’s always this way, or just because of Christmas - but it seemed unnecessarily high.
The food was very good. The view was beautiful. Our server was very hard working but had too many tables to take care.
