My mother, a friend, and I went here to celebrate my birthday. Everything was just perfect. The service was friendly, and even brought out a special “happy birthday” plate of macaroons imported form France. The food was simple & delicious! An Asheville must.
Awesome view by the terrace! Great innovative food and drink choices. Much better than average “hotel brewpub”.
We ate outside and the view and ambiance was fun and the food excellent.
Caution: $15 (tips additional) valet fee. Not a place for a quick bite! Thanks
One of my favorite go-tos in Asheville! Cody was our server and was exceptional with his table-side personality and recommendations. Excellent craft cocktails, the catch of the day was fantastic, and you just can't beat the views. Ask for an outdoor table with reservation, sunset is the best time!
Thinnest chicken fingers we’ve ever seen and all just breading.
Side salad came warm and without much dressing, tasted like it was just taking off somebody’s plate returned to the kitchen.
All there is is the view - sadly! Totally overrated, expensive but cheap quality.
Poor service, long waiting times for food to arrive - even poorer management!
Manager came to the table apologizing and said she would comp, stated the Chef got fired, but then I got the bill for most of the orders.
Everybody, save your money, have a drink and enjoy the scenery, but then enjoy good food and service in one of the many restaurants downtown.
Edison would be a very good restaurant anywhere, but its location within the Grove Park Inn, and its view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, puts it over the top as a great destination for any occasion, or no specific occasion besides a good meal in a truly lovely setting. We sat on their outdoor terrace. First, we viewed the Belmont horse race on their big screen, and saw Justify win the Triple Crown. Then we proceeded to a terrace table with string lights, and experienced very good service and a meal to celebrate my husband's birthday. The menu is fairly diverse, but there are more salads and sandwiches than full entrees, which suited us well. And then on top of it all, there's that magnificent view, plus the chance to take in the historic sights at a hotel that has served many notables over the years, and the charming ambiance of the full resort property.
Great views and ambience. The Brisket Ramen was not good. It's like a soup and I should've listened to the server's expression on his face and not ordered it. My husband's burger was awesome. My only regret is that I didn't order one too.
Only complaint is that we were seated at an outdoor patio style table that was uncomfortable and had to climb in to. Food, drinks and service were good. Awesome sunset views.
Great food, service and ambiance for a special occasion. Our server was extremely patient with us and our table with a view was lovely.
The atmosphere was nice but the presentation of the bacon appetizer was a little rediculous.
My only complaint is even after I confirmed my reservations at the terrace and Edison, I was bombarded with phone calls and e-mails to confirm even though I had already confirmed. You got to be a joke with my group, as look whose calling AGAIN.
Alex provided excellent service!! The shrimp and grits we're delicious as well as the beef brisket ramen. We had a great evening. Thank you!
The dining experience was great and the service was excellent!
The view is gorgeous and the food was delicious! Very accommodating and kid-friendly.
Went for a date/anniversary/getaway night. We were seated in the patio area which offers a wonderful view of the mountains in the distance. It was very cloudy that day around sunset, but I imagine that's also an incredible sight with a clearer sky. Food and drinks were crafted extremely well and our server was very helpful with suggestions and making sure we had everything we needed.
Worst Caesar salad I have ever had. Maybe they have good bar food, hamburgers, etc. I don't know, as I have been there only once, and probably won't return.
Worst experience in a open tab k e restaurant in several years
Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
I want to start off by saying that I’ve been wanting to go to the Grove Park Inn for years and when my partner and I found ourselves looking for a nice place to eat on a Saturday night, the Grove Park Inn came up on our radar and we leapt at the opportunity. Our dining experience did not disappoint. Our server, James (or Jeff) was very accommodating and made great recommendations. We didn’t feel rushed and any staff that I encountered was extremely friendly. We will definitely be back to make reservations for the complete hotel and spa experience. We cannot wait to come back. From one food service worker to another, thank you!
This reservation represented a subset of our total group which was 15 people. We had trouble the previous day getting seated in another restaurant, so we made three separate reservations. the staff were very accommodating with our entire group and the food was excellent!
Great experience for my birthday
Great for special occasions. The food and drinks are amazing.
We spent one night at The Grove Park Inn. It is a historic and stunning hotel. We ate a late dinner at Edison. The host obliged our request for a view table and we had a lovely view of the mountains. A cloudy evening precluded much of a sunset experience. Still the ambience was ver nice. The food was average. I ordered a shrimp and grits dish. My husband ordered hopping John cakes. Both were average. Plentiful portion size, average taste. For dessert we tried the chocolate dessert. Disappointing, especially since the chef neglected to add the seasonal berries listed on the menu and the server was not attentive enough to catch the omission. By the time a separate dish of berries was brought, the ice cream was melting. All in all, a mediocre dining experience. Not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
Lorne was great!
I took my girlfriend out for a birthday dinner and could not have had a better experience! The expansive view, the delectable food, and the attentive service was truly exceptional and left us feeling like we couldn't have selected a better spot for a special date night. Already looking forward to our next meal there!
Enjoyable evening. Beautiful sunset view. Very good food.
The menu is very limited and used to be larger. Needs enhancement.
Great experience, would highly recommend!! We dined here for the first time, while visiting the area and found this place to be an amazing destination for most any couple, family or even company event. Fantastic food, breathtaking views, whether looking for privacy or a place to make new friends. Surprised to find that the food was reasonably priced, though 5 star quality. Can’t wait to go back for a stay at the resort for an upcoming anniversary trip!!
The Grove Park Inn is one of my favorites. The service is always impeccable and Ben our waiter was fabulous. The menu is more of a lunch/lite dining menu, but fresh and delicious. Not pricey. Great view of the Mountains. Could not ask for more.
I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO SEEING THE OMNIAN GROVE PARK INN FOR A COUBLE OF YEARS NOW MY KIDS TOOK ME FOR MOTHERS DAY BRUCH IT WAS JUST LIKE THE PICTURES MAJASTICK AND TOTOLEY BEAUTIFUL THE BEST MOTHERS DAY IN YEARS THANKS KIDS I LOVE YOU MOM
The Edison at the Grove Park Inn never fails us. We have eaten there several times for special occasions and just love it. The view, the food, the service are all wonderful. I will say this time I can't give 5 stars simply because we were seated outdoors on the patio and it was hot and the sun was going down so at times it was shining right in our eyes. The indoor part of the restaurant appeared to be closed for seating at that time. So, sadly our experience was a bit uncomfortable which made the experience less than ideal.
Food was delicious (pretzel bread is a must) and the view was spectacular.
The food, view, and service was amazing! We went in for appetizers and ended up sharing 3, they were all so delicious. Will be back in the future.
The meal and service was outstanding. The view was spectacular.
We love this place. Beautiful setting, awesome views, excellent service, and outstanding food! The Praline Bacon was the most unique appetizer and was so good I’d go back again just for that!
Our reservation was at 6:30 and we did not receive our food till after 8 o’clock.
We had a wonderful time at the Grove Park Inn. The atmosphere was cozy and the food was delicious. The views of the mountains were breathtaking.
Great service from Cody
