We came here for our anniversary. We were seated on a gorgeous terrace that overlooked to mountains. Our service was good, although our waitperson forgot a drink for over 20 minutes. The food was good. There was a loud group behind us who were there on some sort of business. That was a little bummer. All in all, it was a good meal.
Nice menu including vegetarian option. We had the pretzel bread appetizer and was disappointed because it was just a pretzel bun cut into sections, but the soup and entree salads were fresh and very good. We didn’t have dessert. Beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and seating inside or outside. Very good, attentive service.
Started off pretty good. Apps were good, especially the fresh pork rinds and pimento cheese. Downhill after... wife and son's meals - Special fish and Reuben Sand just "OK"... My $30 braised pork "collar" came out cold in the middle with cold sides. Server really slow to check up after meal. Not recommended for the price...
Good food and a decent variety for an affordable meal at the Grove Park Inn.
Wonderful experience as we have come to expect at the grove park inn.
This was my first dining experience at the Omni Grove Park Inn. The Edison is one of several dining options at the Inn, and is probably one of the more mainstream, low-key offerings. This atmosphere was at once grand and welcoming, which is difficult to achieve in what was a rather large dining area. The tables are well-spaced, and the view out the south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows gives an expansive view of Asheville and the surrounding mountains. The noise was noticeable but fairly unobtrusive (save for a loud, somewhat excited middle-aged woman partaking of Moscow Mules at an otherwise quiet adjacent table). The chairs are terrifically padded, and the tables of ample size. The menu offered a good variety of options, and especially of appetizers ("small plates") and entrees ("large plates"). My partner had a mixed drink, which she said was delicious, albeit pricey. We also had the pretzel bread as an appetizer, and I highly recommend it if you like that sort of thing; it comes with stone ground mustard and another condiment I didn't try. I got the cheeseburger, which was perfectly cooked and served on a fantastically toasted potato bun, and accompanied by among the tastiest fries I've ever enjoyed (...and I've enjoyed a lot!). My partner got the pulled pork sandwich, which she termed very good, but perhaps not quite as memorable as the cheeseburger (she got the fries, too). We passed on the dessert, though from what we saw of them, they appeared well-presented and generous. Lastly, our server was a gem. While I can't recall her name, she was a credit to the establishment, giving us the right amount of attention without being obtrusive. In sum, we would definitely go back. It's a little on the pricey side if you view the food and drinks in isolation, but when you couple them with the terrific servers and peerless view, in the end it's definitely worth it!
Food and drinks were quite tasty, however our server Alex was top notch.
Obnoxiously loud and overpriced. You're paying to be at the Grove Park... not for a great meal. As I guest, I found it to be really annoying how long the wait times were. We had dinner at 10pm! If you're a guest there that doesn't want to venture down to Asheville, it's perfectly fine, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything else other than that.
Lunch date with daughter while visitors by Asheville fork Atlanta.
Service was very bad and inattentive. Table next to us was 6 obnoxious drunk women cursing and screaming. Staff did nothing about it. This was at 6 pm. Will not go back.
Been to Edison's several times for small plates. Dinner menu is quite limited. Nevertheless, we went for a birthday dinner. View is lovely, server was friendly, helpful, and paced our meal well. Had good choices for wine, and made a good martini. We had the pork rinds appetizer. Was plenty for four. My wife had and enjoyed the pork collar. I had the meatloaf. Disappointed that it was two large dense meatballs in red sauce. Had the peach cobbler dessert which was fine.
My recommendation: Stick to small plates, which have never disappointed.
Our waiter, Evan, was very friendly and patient. He provided great information on the various menu options we were deciding on. Service was timely and the food was very good
Great spot and very good service. I had the Hot Brown which was delicious. Would recommend.
We enjoyed having lunch in the Edison at Grove Park Omni. It was uncrowded on a clear day, so the view was wonderful - as was the food and service! I bit pricey for this "girl", but it was definitely a nice treat.
The server was informative and entertaining.. The meatloaf was outstanding... Peach Cobbler was extremely satisfying... Makes you want to return...
Perfect birthday dinner.
Great place to dine at the Omni. Food was very good. Alex, our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu selections and was extremely personable
Edison was fabulous! The view was gorgeous and the food was great! We ordered the pretzel bread to start which was good, then had a burger and the chicken sandwich. Both of us cleaned our plate!
The food was delicious as usual. With it not being busy season, it seemed that the wait staff was in slow motion but polite and enjoyable.
Enjoyed our Service from Derrick and our dinner was excellent. Loved the atmosphere.
The Edison is a nice dining option at the Grove Park Inn. We had the Kobe beef meat loaf and the shrimp and grits and both were excellent.
Host Fred did great job with table needs for reservations for 6 after Omni concierge dropped the ball. GREAT waiter. Long wait for food but good.
Excellent food and value, in the terrific setting of The Grove Park Inn.
Excellent timely service. Food was delicious. Atmosphere stunning.
Great options wether you want to eat light or go all out. Kale salad with the salmon added was fantastic.
Menu offerings are varied for all tastes and budgets, so we were surprised to see the filet price higher than usual. We were NOT disappointed! Right up there with some of the best steaks we’ve had and a nice wine list with good value offerings. Our server was delightful and all diners were having a good evening. Stepped out on balcony with fireplace and outdoor heaters - the view of Asheville’s lights from the Grove Park’s back porch is the best in town!
Good service. Nice view of the mountains. Food was good but limited choices, perhaps because it was Sunday.
Our food at the Edison was very good, Kale salad was lovely, pork rinds with pimiento OK, Bone in Ribeye fantastic. The kids meal was a very good value as well. I do think the total was fairly high considering we split the steak. There are so many great restaurants in Asheville, it made me wish we had left the Inn and explored another place. However, if you need some down time and want to eat in the hotel, this is a good option.
Charlie was our waiter & he was fabulous ! Thoroughly enjoyed him & our meal. Can’t wait to come back.
Not impressed considering the location at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Was expecting something a little more tasteful. I could have gotten that meal at a meat and three for 1/3 of the price.
We were taken exactly at our reservation time. Service was great and made great suggestions. View was breathtaking and fireplace was so cozy. We felt the large and small plate options were a value for the resort. Can’t wait to go back.
We were staying at the Omni Grove Park, and we didn't want to brave the cold outside to enjoy other Asheville cuisine. This was a wonderful spot--quiet, good food, great service. We had a very enjoyable dining experience; and we would return if the occasion arose.
The picture attached is to illustrate the spectacular view that we enjoyed during our dining experience.
one of worst meals we have had. meatloaf must have been cooked day before and kept warm in oven. trout was straight out of freezer
Had a great meal--I got the pork and collards, loved it!
I️ thought there would’ve been more basic menu options. It was good but seemed like needed more options
It was great!
Surprised with two birthday macaroon plates. Our server, Becca, and the rest of the staff made us feel very very welcome. amazing experience and absolutely outstanding shrimp and grits!
We ordered the shrimp and grits and it was not good. The shrimp and grits themselves were good, but there was a gravy poured on it that did not go with the dish. Dessert was great. The soft drinks come from the bar tap and were watered down. Dessert was very good. There are not many main dinner entrees to choose from. The view is breathtakingly beautiful.
