Edison - Omni Grove Park Inn
We arrived at 6:30 and had a great view but the sun was very very hot. We were all uncomfortable and sunburned. Food was average and expensive. Service was excellent. Mixed feelings about ever going back.
The Edison is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything comes together to make it an extremely enjoyable dining experience.
The beets and grits were delicious. The kale salad was pretty good. My knuckle sandwich was inedible, there was way too much lobster and it wasn’t fresh. My husband’s crispy buffalo chicken sandwich was soggy. The servers were very kind and helped us move to another table out of the sun. The server did take my knuckle sandwich off our bill, which I appreciated. The ambiance was nice. As this was our first meal of our visit, it kind of put me off the food in the rest of the hotel restaurants.
Delicious food, beautiful view, great service. We would return again and again.
We always love bringing guest to The Grove Park in and the Edison to eat.
Great food, view and atmosphere.
It was pitched as a craft beer restaurant but there were not many choices. Food was mediocre. Burger didn’t have much flavor. Waiter got orders mixed up. Table was dirty. No silverware. For a place that was so difficult to get a reservation I was disappointed.
Absolutely HORRIBLE, inedible food and DEPLORABLE new management. We are regulars and locals in the area who have frequented Edison for years, and this has declined SIGNIFICANTLY in the past six months. The food was fatty, glutenous, and laden with fat and butter. No flavor and very unhealthy. Stop by The Grove Park Inn for a fabulous view and enjoy a drink in the lobby with the live band, but do not bother to spend a dime on the food.
Thank you for sharing. This is not the guest experience for which we are known. We apologize the food was not to your liking and for any misunderstanding regarding our fireworks; we do our utmost to ensure The Inn's Independence Day celebration is communicated clearly beginning in April, both online and via advertising. The manager of Edison has addressed your concerns with the server, and this will not be an issue moving forward. We hope you will return, to show you our true hospitality.
Edison is a FAV of mine. I travel to Asheville and it's a must-do when visiting myself or hosting guests. Pretzel bread is a favorite and you cannot beat the history of the Inn and ambiance of the restaurant.
The server was noncommittal with dish suggestions and not interested in being attentive or gracious.
Very disappointed. Service was exceptionally slow and the food was just average.
Thank you for reaching out. This is not the guest experience we aim to deliver and apologize for the lack of promptness. We have shared your feedback with the Food & Beverage management team and will use your feedback as an opportunity to better our operation. We hope you will choose to dine with us again when we may yet show you the true guest experience we strive to provide.
It was an incredible experience at Edison! The food was wonderful and the service was top notch. And, to have a wedding in the middle of it? Beautiful.
Was awesome! Lorne always makes our time here special!
Wonderful staff, very attentive, the views of the mountains make for a calm setting for cocktails, dinner and dessert.
The view at sunset was breathtaking. Also the lobster mac and cheese was delish.
We ate on the deck, beautiful view, but lots of patrons coming to take pics right behind our table. I’ve eaten at Edison’s many times, and it was always good. This visit I ordered the Angus burger and it was NOT good. Disappointing.
Thank you for choosing to dine with Edison over the years. We appreciate your kind words towards the view and food overall, however apologize that this visit's meal did not live up to the standard for which we are known. We have shared your comments with the Executive Chef and hope you will continue to visit for the experience we strive to provide.
Beautiful setting. Very good service from enthusiastic late teens and early 20’s adults. We did not see anyone over 30 who seemed to be running things. The food was good, not great, but too salty for our liking.
Got engaged here last Friday and had an awesome time in a great atmosphere. Loved the food and the service was great on our big night will be back and this is a truly special place that has it all.
Gorgeous!! Food excellent and so was our server. Would highly recommend Edisons!
Great casual restaurant on property. Service was great. Lolllipop chicken fantastic. We ordered a lot of appetizers and they were all very good. Can’t beat the view outside.
Great food, great service and fantastic views!
Becca our server was fantastic- food was excellent. Of course the sunset was spectacular. Highly recommend
Beautiful view of Asheville from the terrace. Tour the grounds afterwards.
Beautiful surroundings; great way to spend an evening
Would like more variety on the menu--almost everything has bacon in it and there are few health-conscious choices. But the view is incredible.
Great views of the mountains from our table. Recommend requesting outside seating to appreciate the view. Service was great and the food was delicious. Menu was well priced given the ambiance.
The atmosphere was very nice sitting in the open part of the restaurant. Our server was extremely nice, informative and pleasant.
These folks went out of there way to accommodate us after our wedding !!! Jason was amazing server
Our party of 3 had a 7:15 reservation on May 31 for “outdoor seating” which is in the open part of Edison, but all under-roof… perfect weather, beautiful sunset. Our server, Nicky, was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly, but not overbearing. One martini ordered… well made in a chilled glass. We shared the Local Beets appetizer… delicious, served over fabulous grits. All of our entrees were delicious: the lobster sandwich, that day’s fish special, a salad with chicken breast. Wine selection is adequate, tiered by price, with quality selections. No dessert. The décor is beautiful modern Craftsman; lots of large screen TVs in the enclosed areas with oversized sofa seating around large fireplaces and TVs, but not an overly sports-bar vibe. It’s a bit pricey, but this is a special setting with an excellent kitchen, bar and ambiance… worth the price… a very nice dining experience. I'm a local, and this is high on my "top spots" list.
The food was great, the service was excellent and the views were amazing. This place is a must when visiting Asheville.
Our server Stephanie was amazing!! She let us stay as long as we wanted to watch the sunset over the mountains. It was an amazing experience.
Edison at Grove Park is a great onsite pub with an extraordinary view. We sat outside and had the smashed cheese burger...it was great. Only negative, they were out of my favorite beer - D9 out of Cornelius, NC. Be sure to make reservations - very popular!
Great way to spend an anniversary dinner. Service and views were just wonderful. Thank you!
Service and a view. Food was good.
Beautiful place and resort like. Ate at Edison’s outdoors. Perfect ambiance but menu very expensive for the food. Definitely paying for the mountain backdrop
Beautiful views. Delicious food!
LOVE everything about Grove Park Inn. Several places to eat on the property but we chose Edison's. We sat on the covered patio and thoroughly enjoyed! The scenery, staff and food were all wonderful. Don't miss Grove Park Inn if you go to Asheville!!!...And the Spa is wonderful!
Great views and food. Good wine selection. Alex, who was our waitress was a great server and personable.
The food at the Edison was outstanding. The service was amazing. Our waiter Lorne was superb. The only issue was that we were seated outside in the sun. There is no relief from the sun ANYWHERE outside as the evening moves on the whole area is sunny and HOT! I would suggest indoor seating. Other than that it's AMAZING!
Great service, great food, and what a view!! We were not overnight guests at the hotel, but we were greeted with respect and friendliness no matter where we went in the hotel. Beautiful experience. Can't wait to return to Asheville and visit Grove Park Inn again. Edison's is highly recommended.
