Edison - Omni Grove Park Inn
Our server Alex was GREAT !
Thank you for your kind words towards Alex. A valued member of the Omni family, Alex embodies what it truly means to be a hospitality professional, and we hope you will continue to dine at Edison, craft ales + kitchen for its outstanding service and culinary delights.
Amazing service! Our waiter was more than accommodating and made sure we were seated with food in time for the sunset! Couldn’t say more about the service! We had the goat cheese balls, grilled cheese and a smash burger. All was great except the goat cheese balls were a bit bland. We put some salt on them and they much improved! Thanks for a great experience!
Thank you for dining at Edison, craft ales + kitchen. From the excellent service to our grilled cheese and smash burgers, we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meal. We look forward to welcoming you back for many great experiences in the future.
Enjoyed it. We’ll be back.
Best Mountain View’s ever.
We arrived in time for sunset. We had comfortable banquette seating. My burger special was delicious. Great service. Fabulous atmosphere.
Thank you for sharing. We are thrilled to hear that you were able to enjoy the sunset from Edison Craft Ales + Kitchen, and even more so that your burger special and service were nothing short of spectacular. We hope you will choose to visit us again soon.
Love the atmosphere but the chair was terrible. Metal, hard and off balance. If I leaned back I would slide off. Someone in my party snuck and switched my chair for one with a cushion. So uncomfortable I wanted to leave.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we sincerely apologize that you felt the need to sneak the chair. Table selection is made on a first-come, first-served basis, however we certainly do not wish any of our guests to be uncomfortable and would have assisted you directly had the issue been known at the time of service. We hope you will choose to dine at Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen again soon when we may better show you the hospitality for which we are truly known.
I really like the grove park inn. Would recommend for dinner. The views are terrific and it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere. A little pricey and the hotel itself has gotten outrageous in terms of room rates and all added extras including a resort fee and a daily parking fee.
Absolutely beautiful views at sunset and the food was tremendous. Even for the more “casual” spot at Grove Park, each dish was world class. We especially loved the charred octopus, fried green tomatoes, seasonal scallop dish and the bison meatloaf! Each was packed with unique flavor and made a statement. Don’t sleep on the dessert menu! The cheesecake was presented in such a neat way as a little globe with the roasted peaches inside and it wasn’t too heavy so we left feeling satisfied not overstuffed! Our drinks were absolutely fantastic - very fresh ingredients and spot-on flavors - even the virgin mule for our pregnant guest was mixed with some additional flavors to really make it special!
Thank you for sharing. Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen has recently updated the menu, and from the charred octopus to the bison meatloaf, we are very pleased to learn that so many of our newer offerings are being appreciated by our guests. We hope you will dine with us again soon, perhaps in celebration of the newest member of the family.
This is a wonderful covered outdoor Resturant at Grove Park Inn. The views of the sun setting over the mountains while you dine offer a romantic setting to end the day. The staff were very attentive and the food delicious. I highly recommend this venue for a date night or special occasion with your spouse.
Thank you for choosing to dine at Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen. From the attentive staff to delicious food, we are thrilled to hear that your meal on the outdoor patio met all your needs and wishes. We also offer indoor seating year-round, for guests who would prefer to enjoy the panoramic mountain views and culinary delights within the comfort of a climate-controlled area. We hope you will continue to visit regardless of the season.
Nicky was one of the best servers I have had in a long time at any establishment.
Thank you for sharing. Nicky is a wonderful asset and valued member of the Omni family. We are so glad that your dinner was only made better by its service, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen soon.
Food was well prepared, portions were modest. Service was good not great. Beer selection considering the location was below average. The setting is great. The prices of food and beverages were very high all things considered. There are a better choices for restaurants in Asheville. However, if you are too late to for other choices and are staying in or around Grove Park Inn this would work, as long as you are prepared to pay more than in other otherwise comparable restaruants in Asheville.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you enjoyed the food, however apologize that the beer selection and, especially, the service fell short of expectations. Should you choose to dine with us again, we look forward to showing you the high standard of hospitality for which we are truly known.
This was such an awesome experience. I recommend it to anyone who is in the Asheville area.
Edison was a absolutely beautiful. We had reservations at 7:15 outside on Sept. 3rd. It was still very warm but the view was absolutely breath taken. Lovely dinner and atmosphere. Server was great.
This restaurant inside a lovely resort was a great experience. Though a bit pricey, the food is creative and delicious. The service was so friendly and welcoming. The most memorable aspect is the fabulous view, especially at sunset, of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Ate outside and enjoyed the sunset. Spectacular ! Our waitress Stephanie gave us time and did not make us feel rushed. The Bison Meatloaf was very good.
Thank you for your kind words towards our staff, especially Stephanie; she certainly embodies what it means to be a hospitality professional, and she is a valued member of the Omni family. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed The Bison Meatloaf, and we hope you will choose to dine with us again soon.
The view was fantastic!! However I can’t say as much for the food. Although the appetizers were great (fried green tomatoes & pretzel bread), our entrees were less than climactic. The burgers were way too done to be $18, as a matter of fact we weren’t even asked how we wanted them cooked, and the shrimp and grits were so smothered in vinaigrette that it ruined the whole dish. The bison meatloaf did not disappoint but for the price point these meals should have been much better.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you enjoyed the view and appetizers however apologize that the same sentiments did not extend to your entrees. We do temp our burgers at well done unless requested at the time of service, and we hope you will choose to dine with us again to enjoy a meal befitting your needs and wishes.
We had great service, excellent food and a great view. What more could you want dinner? The company and conversation were great too, but the Edison had no control over that.
The Edison's food is good enough, but pricey. This is the second time we've eaten at the Grove Park Inn (the first was at the Sunset Terrace) and both times the service has been lacking. The first time, the waiter seemed to forget about us. (By way of apology, he said the restaurant had gotten busy. Um, that's what happens.) The second time, I suspect it was the kitchen's fault, with one entree no longer hot by the time it reached the four of us. (To the restaurant's credit, we were not charged for it.) But some asked-for mustard did not come until we repeated the request...and it still took a while.
It's fine if you want to charge those prices. But if you want to be a first-class restaurant, you must have service and food that are in line with the cost.
Thank you for sharing. As noted with the complimentary entree, this is not the service we aim to deliver, and we sincerely apologize for your dining experience. We hope you will choose to dine with us again, knowing your feedback is important to us, as an opportunity to improve.
It was our wedding night dinner, the atmosphere and scenery was the perfect ending to a beautiful day! Food was outstanding and waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food!
Thank you for choosing to celebrate with us, and may we congratulate you both on your recent nuptials! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed everything Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen has to offer and hope look forward to serving you upon your next visit to Asheville.
Beautiful location. Great waitstaff. Really too bad and missed opportunity with iconic and historic hotel for one of worst dining experiences in Asheville. The food is such a missed opportunity to do something great. You can go to any brewery in town and have great elevated delicious chef quality bar food but a chain restaurant does a better job than Edison. I expect more. Sad
Thank you for reaching out, and we apologize that your dining experience fell short of expectations. The Omni Grove Park Inn offers four signature restaurants throughout the resort, and should you choose to stay with us again, we recommend sampling any one of our menus; you may be pleasantly surprised with a selection more appealing to your palate.
The view was beautiful and the food was great. I wouldn’t say the service was bad however we were there for an hour before we received our food and we ordered right away. I think the server forgot to put the order in. We went without drinks for a little while too. He was busy but it shouldn’t be like that when you’re paying a lot for the food. I also booked noting a birthday in the comments. The host noticed and wished me a happy birthday as we arrived. My boyfriend even told the server a second time but it was never acknowledged. A little disappointing in that respect. That’s why the 4 star. However it was a beautiful view so that helped.
Thank you for reaching out. This is not the dining experience we aim to deliver and apologize for the lack of promptness. Our standard is to give each special occasion table a celebratory plate, and we will share your feedback with the Food & Beverage management team to use as an opportunity to better our operation. May we sincerely wish you a very happy birthday, and we hope you will choose to dine with us again to show you what it truly means to visit Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen.
I had the pork tenderloin and my husband had the steak frites. Both were very good and we enjoyed the cheese board appetizer. We sat outside with a beautiful view and the outside area is very comfortable. I enjoyed the atmosphere better than the Sunset Terrace. We came back for lunch and sat inside, but the seating inside was by the bar and not as nice. The service was good and the portions were generous. I would recommend it if you are staying at the hotel.
Thank you for reaching out. We appreciate that Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen met all of your needs and wishes. Should you choose to dine with us again, please know that our table selection is on a first-come, first-served basis, and we will be happy to assist you with preferred seating on the terrace if available.
The food was delicious and the views were spectacular!!!
The best part of our dinner was the sunset. We did not feel rushed. The sandwiches and soup were delicious. Our server brought our food in a timely manner. The blackberry cobbler ended our evening on a sweet note.
Thank you for sharing. We are thrilled to hear that your dining experience was nothing short of exemplary, and we hope you will continue to visit The Inn, for both its restaurants and mountain views.
I was very disappointed with the beet salad I had
for lunch in the Edison dining area. It was $15, and was just not good. I ate little of it, but did not complain because it wasn’t over or under cooked. The waitress didn’t ask me how it was or offer to box it up, so she probably was used to patrons not eating it! The combination of ingredients just didn’t work. Also, we were seated with our friends in an area that had no view of the gorgeous grounds, even though we had a reservation and all we needed was a table for four. Finally, it was very noisy.
Thank you for making us aware of your concerns. We apologize that the beet salad was not to your liking and hope you will choose to dine with us again soon, for a dish more pleasing to your palate.
Our waiter Nicky was amazing and so accommodating. The view was stunning (and we weren't even on the edge) and the food was delicious too, but be weary of the cheese and meat platter as the meat wasn't sliced/cured meat as charcuterie boards usually are - it was a pate and some solid chunk (forgot what it was called) regardless, it was pretty good but not what I had expected. Overall, it was a special anniversary dinner at a beautiful, historical inn that we will remember for a while.
Thank you for sharing, and may we wish you both a very happy anniversary. We appreciate that Nicky did such a wonderful job as your server, and apologize that the cheese and meat platter was not to your liking. Edison, Craft Ales + Kitchen offers three selections of local cheese and house made charcuterie, and we hope you will choose to return to sample another; our staff can certainly assist in navigating the menu for your preferences.
Excellent service and great atmosphere!! Love sitting on the terrace!
Just beautiful, wonderful drinks, food and the view that shouldn't be missed.
Our waiter David was excellent!!! Enjoyable evening!
Excellent view and atmosphere for a nice dinner. I would recommend to others.
This place is a must when visiting Asheville! Wide variety menu that is made from high quality ingredients. Service makes you feel like a royal and a view that never gets old. I go every time I'm in the area and it never disappoints!
Went to celebrate my engagement. Dinner was delicious but we waited a long time at the table before our waiter came over. Once he did it was good service, but I felt the time we waited was too long for such a nice place.
5 STARS! Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and wonderful staff. You can’t beat the view!
Good food, great view, excellent service. I would definitely go again.
Absolutely gorgeous and a very unique experience! I recommend this restaurant 100%. The food was good and cheaper than the Sunset Terrace restaurant, but the same views.
Spectacular views, excellent food, top-notch service.
Food was overpriced
This was definitely an amazing experience. Our service Lisa was so great. She was very thorough with the menu. Very knowledgeable. The ambiance and the view ... to die for. Even driving towards the resort and down into the valley of the resort ... unbelievable. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with a side of shrimp. It was really good. The overall prices were a little high. Being from the Carolinas, seeing Shrimp and Grits for $30 was very surprising ... but again ... we were on a resort and when do you ever have an experience like this. Everyone from the valet to the host to our server and back to the valet ... great customer service. I look forward to going back again. Hopefully sooner than later.
The experience at Edison was very good once we got into the restaurant. However, getting there was next to impossible. The hotel had booked multiple big events for the same day, and as a result there was literally no place to park. We wasted 15-20 minutes looking, before taking a spot labeled "Members Only".
