Edibles Restaurant & Bar is a casual eatery and bar in Rochester's "artsy" neighborhood. It's located in the Flatiron building which dates to the 1850s, and the interior has not been much tampered with. The original wooden floor and the tin ceiling are still intact. Edibles Restaurant & Bar has a full menu along with happy hour specials. You might begin with truffle tots or the soup du jour, and then enjoy Faroe Island salmon with caramelized Brussels sprouts, Black Angus sirloin with frites or roasted duck in cherry barbecue sauce with herb roasted potato to name just a few menu items.
If you're planning a party, Edibles Restaurant & Bar will be happy to look after the details for you. Contact the restaurant to inquire about booking your gathering.
We had a great meal. We were eating early. which is unusual for us and were surprised by how busy the restaurant was. We were glad we had a reservation.. Service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry and enjoyed the evening very much!
The breast of chicken wrapped in proscuito was exceptional and I would return to order that same item.
I have had lunch at Edibles a couple of times recently and loved it! The food is great, best tomato bisque I have ever had! Service is good, décor is unique
I look forward to trying it for dinner sometime soon!
Once again, the food and atmosphere did not disappoint! Everything from the wine to the entrees to the service was spot on! We will definitely be back!
I've eaten at Edibles several times and have never been disappointed, this night I took my parents and they too were impressed with the delicious food and nice atmosphere. My dad and I enjoyed the flat iron steak. My mom had the bourbon glazed salmon and loved it! Great service, great food!
My mother was in from Florida and choose Edibles where she has dined before when she lived in Rochester. It ended up being a great choice and was an excellent time. I requested a specific table through my reservation and it was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. The service was great, the timing perfect and the food delicious. They had NY wine selections which is always great to see. The roasted beet and goat cheese salad was my favorite and my mother was raving about her Braised Short Ribs special. It was an excellent night and we recommend it to anyone looks for a elegant night out.
I came with my adult daughters for dinner before going to the Auditorium Theater. I had heard good things but was really amazed at just how good it was. It was the kind of experience that I had to be careful not to allow the audible sounds of satisfaction to be too loud. The Pierogi's were melt in your mouth, died and gone to heaven good!!!!!!
Just wanted to have dinner out for a change before going to GEVA; delighted with our choice! Plenty of parking for a city location, food was enjoyable, wait staff MORE THAN HELPFUL when I accidently got the tomato soup on my slacks. She saved the night!!!
We got seated on time but unfortunately didn't get even a drink order until 25 minutes until we sat down. Mind you it was Valentine's Day. Food was good though.
Lovely exposed brick restaurant has a great romantic feel. Attentive and professional waitstaff. Appetizers were wonderful. Beet salad-delicious. The Kale Sweet Potato cakes were the major standout. Could have eaten ten of them. Caramelized brussel sprouts-can't go wrong. Unfortunately, they did go wrong with the seafood "Cioppino" which the waiter described as a "thick stew." It was not a stew (which sounded good in subzero weather), it was a a little bit of sauce dripped over a big piece of sea bass, surrounded by mussels and shrimp. The sea bass was a nice cut, but it was barely warm and definitely hot meal temperature hot. My wife's asparagus were a bit overcooked and her steak was unremarkable. Excellent evening in many ways, but we hit some so-so entrees.
My girlfriend and I had a very nice evening at Edibles Restaurant. The food was great and our waiter, Brian, was very personable and knowledgeable.
I've been to Edibles on occasion for lunches. On Friday Feb 13th we had a couples night out, four people for dinner. Our wait time past our requested reservation time was acceptable, and the staff was quick and courteous. Unfortunately I was not all that impressed with the food. I ordered the 16 oz black angus strip steak medium-rare, and the meat was properly cooked but lacked flavor. My husband had the quinoa & black bean burger with a side order of asparagus, and we didn't realize they had substituted the side. Our friends were served the prosciutto scallops and the ravioli, both of which were good simple dishes.
Overall the restaurant has a soft, intimate atmosphere and is enjoyable for a date night or quiet dinner. I will be back for lunch again.
I like their food. Unfortunately on this day the service was extraordinarily slow. Lunch shouldn't take 90 minutes.
Edibles provides a variety luncheon menu incorporating tasty selections for all palates. Service by attentive wait staff enhances the dining experience. It's a great neighborhood resource and a great dining destination.
Absolutely loved this place. Loved the décor, loved the menu, loved the food, and loved the server. What a great place. Try the bourbon maple salmon with brussel sprouts. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!
I have been to Edibles several times over the years. This visit was not the best. Although the food was generally quite good, I found it a bit odd that a high-end restaurant like this one, doesn't offer crushed peppercorn for one's salad, or condiments for french fries. There was no salt or pepper at our table, but when we asked our server for fresh peppercorn we were told there was no pepper mill. Condiments like catsup was never offered and by the time the server came back it was a bit too late to worry about it.
As for the food itself, fresh bread was brought to the table and it was delicious. Unfortunately, wait staff came and quickly cleared the bread plates without ever asking if we would like more. The duck and the hanger steak we ordered were prepared exactly as requested. The duck special in cherry glaze was very tasty, but the hanger steak seemed bland and a little tough. Both the wedge and beet salad appetizers were very good as was the chocolate cake for dessert.
The ambiance seemed excessively noisy due to a particularly loud table, bit when they left all was as we've experienced in the past. Finally, our server seemed a little distracted (perhaps she was just very busy). She did stop back a couple time to ask us if we needed anything further but her demeanor made us feel it was obligatory rather than genuine.
Feel like getting away? Go to Edibles! It feels like a restaurant in NYC or Boston. But it's in Rochester which is better in my book!! Food is amazing; service is second to none. My absolute favorite place to take guests to impress. And my choice to go for a quiet and romantic evening!
Made reservations on a Saturday night and still had to wait 20 minutes fora table. We were also right on time for our reservation so it wasn't a case of being late or even tardy.
Besides the wait, it was nice
I have been to Edibles several times before but took a group there for NYE. I am so anti price fix... and Edibles pretty much had there whole menu going with no limitations. The food was great, the drinks were great, and ALL was awesome. Would highly recommend Edibles to anyone!
Lovely atmosphere, excellent food and service. It's our "go to" restaurant for special occasions and dining with friends or for a romantic evening.
What a wonderful time we had yesterday at Edibles! The food was incomparable and the wait staff was attentive and served everything on time without pushing to finish or lagging between courses. We were treated as if we were the only people there. All the food came out together. It was such a pleasant experience. My Bride was so happy with everything, and that is all I wanted for her. It was our first time at Edibles but it won't be our last. Thank you for making my Son wedding memorable.
Edibles was a new experience for us, but we wanted to give it a try. The wait staff was very welcoming and friendly, we immediately felt at home. We enjoyed a glass of wine while waiting for our table. We ordered the farmers plate appetizer - the cheeses in in-house made bread were DELICIOUS! My husband ordered the pork shank - a new entree on the menu, I ordered the flatiron. Both were cooked to perfection, didn't even need the steak knife that came with the entree. Everything was absolutely great, will definitely be visiting there again. Its a smaller place, so a reservation would definitely be recommended.
The wild salmon was perfectly prepared and a generous portion. The chicken Medici was delicious. The chicken prosciutto pizza was really satisfying and tasty.
Edibles is consistent and delicious. Nice ambiance.
The lunch option I chose was very good…soup, salad, roll. My one disappointment was that there were very few vegetarian options. Appears to be a carnivore focus.
My chicken dish was delicious. The combination of black olives, feta cheese and tomatoes along with spices created a dish that was appealing to sight, smell and taste. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. A terrific start to an evening of dining and Eastman Theater. Will certainly return!
The food and service was excellent, a very good portion of bourbon salmon for the entre. Very private setting at night, romantic ambiance.
I came for a drag brunch with a group of friends and had a great time. My only complaint was being that we were one of the last tables to get up for food, by that time it was picked over and no longer fresh. The baked french toast which looked to good, was like soggy old cardboard by the time we got to it. I would suggest either choosing foods that last a bit better in these situations or rotating it quicker. So with that, I don't feel like I could accurately judge the food. People who were served first seemed pleased.
My husband and I went for my birthday dinner, and it was a great night. The atmosphere, food, service, and drinks were all top notch.
The food on the menu sounds very good. Yet the service, cost, and actual food leave you with an empty wallet and empty stomach. A $12 egg roll appetizer should really come with more than 1 egg roll... Come on. Salmon balls with all bread crumbs and no salmon. Even though I made a reservation, my guest and I still waited 15min to be seated while there were open tables in the dining room. Poor hosting and poor service. Don't waste your time and money at Edibles--you will regret it.
This restaurant is a long time favorite. Changing menu and trendy decor.
We had two meals at Edibles. The lunch menu was great. My companion loved the beet-based soup and salad. I had the lobster ravioli which was outstanding. The onion soup was just so-so. Off the dinner menu we had the flat iron steak (deleesh) and the maple bourbon salmon, outstanding, with the most wonderful caramelized brussels sprouts. Great cocktail menu, too. I say five stars!
This was our second time here in the last month. We love it here!! The staff is extremely friendly and offers honest suggestions when asked. Our server was attentive and personable the entire evening. The food was awesome. My partner and I shared the chicken special for 2 and were very pleased. We will definitely be back!
Great food and nice atmosphere. Not much of a crowd for a Saturday night.
I feel they need a menu change. Include salad with dinner pricing would help. Also need a little more variety.
Change keeps things new.
The service was timely, the food excellent and the sound level pleasant.
It was a really lovely dining experience. The food was a special treat.
We eat out often. This was the best meal that we have had in a very long time! We would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We dined here before attending the Book of Mormon at the Auditorium Theater. The food was fantastic, our server was efficient and friendly, and the owner even came to check on us. What a nice touch! Thank you for a fantastic night. We will be back!
They batted .500 on the apps and drinks but hit it out of the park on the steak entres.
My wife and I were in town to attend a play at the auditorium. Restaurant is a 5 to 10 minutes pleasant walk away, in an interesting section of town. The restaurants is on a block that has older-style renovated buildings and has a downtown neighborhood fell to it. We were seated by the window which added to the atmosphere.
The bourbon salmon which was excellent, tender, moist and flavorful. The brussels sprouts side was wonderful, which is not we expected. The prosciutto wrapped scallops were huge, and the seared prosciutto made for a good counter balance to the subtillly flavored scallops. Due the the nature of this dish it may be a bit salty for some palates. Tomato couscous was a bit bland. All in all a very good meal.
