Edgewood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Every step of the process from seating to service and everything was phenomenal. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything was full of flavor and was perfectly plated. The service was impeccable; I definitely felt like we were well cared for. This was a very special dining experience.
My family and I are from put of town, when in South Lake Tahoe, we searched for the best restaurants in town... Edgewood Restaurant did not disappoint!
The ambiance was great, the view was great, the service was great and the food was delicious!
It's a must!!!
We make a point of eating here whenever we come to Tahoe because it is such a special dining experience. And our dinner here the other night did not disappoint. Beautiful setting, terrific service and delicious food from their exceptional bread right on through to dessert. I had seafood risotto and my husband had the Kubota pork chop and both were prepared. Definitely worth it.
We had an absolutely lovely meal at Edgewood for my husband’s birthday. We made a reservation for 5pm. We were the first couple seated, and they gave us the best table in the house. Every table has an amazing view of the lake and mountains. The servers were very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and very kind. They had a lovely wine selection and prices were decent for bottles. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our favorite item was the hamachi - the wasabi sauce was out fo this world! We would definitely come back in the future!
Kind of sad about the last experience in this restaurant which I have enjoyed for many years as a classy place with well-dressed and behaved clientele. Now after the new hotel opened across the old parking lot it has turned into a rushed noisy place with very casually dressed groups, unsupervised kids running around screaming. Food was still very good (new menu, old favorites still there), ambiance is gone.
I like to come here every time we're in Tahoe. A beautiful restaurant on a picturesque waterfront location. They have seasonal menus that have items that are perfect for foodies (like me!) and want something you can't just get anywhere! I had the perfectly prepared Elk Chop with schnitzel -- off the charts! Yum! We love to sit by the window and always bring our little guy to expose him to fine dining! All the staff is courteous and sweet to families even though it's an upscale restaurant catering to the date-night crowd.
The waiter was very nice. The quality of the food was ok (not excellent). But the fact that entree didn't have a single ingredient in common with what was listed in the menu was off putting, hence my limited 2 star rating.
Before we ordered our food, several mentions of dishes being changed or altered to fit the seasonality of certain ingredients were made. But zero mention of any potential dish alteration were made when it came to the Vegetal Plate.
The picture here shows the description of the dish I ordered, the Vegetable Plate. Zero (0!) ingredients from that menu description showed up on my plate. Instead, what you see here is a tomato-based risotto with asparagus, four tiny slices of mushroom, three cherry tomatoes in halves, some cooked purple lettuce, all of it topped some sun-choke chips.
Had I known I would get that dish, I would NOT have ordered it. I mentioned that to the server and the manager who both said "I hope you like it". It was good. It absolutely not what I had ordered. And I would not have ordered that dish.
This kind of restaurant should not provide this kind of dishonest and careless experience.
The rest of the food was good. So for this price range restaurant, this was not acceptable. This is why I would not recommend the place (it's the first time I share a not-so-positive restaurant review, gulp!)
It's a beautiful building with great views but the dinner was disappointing for the venue. Tough pork dish and rib eye steak dinner too. Appetizer was amazing but corkage was $25!!! The bad outweighed the good for us. tables too close together as well. We were in a cozy booth overlooking a family with loud children and could hear every word they were saying!
Food was really good. I had the elk chop that I would most likely order again. We had a couple issues with two orders being mixed up. My wife ordered sea bass but a rib eye came instead. It was quickly fixed but we had to wait about 5 minutes before we could all eat together. Also, the special was rib eye and one of us received what I am pretty confident was a New York. We didn't say anything after the sea bass incident because we wanted to just enjoy dinner. The New York steak was really good so it was not really a big issue. The ambiance was great! The view was probably amazing but we were there at night so no view for us. We will have to comeback in the daytime for sure. This was our first time here and it was a real escape from the other restaurants we visit on our stays in Tahoe. We will definitely be back whether for dinner or on the back waterfront patio for cocktails when it's warm outside. I'll chalk up the couple mix-ups as being an anomaly and give Edgewood a second chance.
We decided to return for a second night during our visit to Tahoe. Spectacular place to watch the sunset on the lake! Laurie and the entire wait staff were very attentive and friendly which made it a delightful evening. The food is delicious and the Port Sampler is a must. .
My family and I usually dine at Friday's Station Steak House at Harrah's. I decided last minute to dine at the Edgewood restaurant because I love the golf course there. I ordered the special which was a 12oz Ribeye. The portion was great unfortunately the quality of the steak was very tough and left me a bit disappointed. If I go back I'm definitely ordering the Elk, my son had it and it was amazing. The staff was very polite and friendly.
This is one of those very special places that makes you reevaluate the meaning of excellence, and reconsider all your previous 5 star reviews. Edgewood Restaurant, inside the stunning Edgewood Clubhouse, is an architectural marvel in wood and glass. Lake Tahoe views and sunsets are superb from every seat, and the cathedral ceilings sloping down to the huge plate glass windows with the gentle lighting down every beam are just magnificent. And then there is the food! Everything at your table is impeccable, spotless, and of the very best quality: silverware, glassware, linen, everything. From beautifully prepared cocktails, and delicious, perfectly warm ciabatta bread and marinated olives, they get you started right. Wait staff are all wonderful people, very gracious and genuine, and our waiter (on black Friday) was the delightful Guy, with his wonderful sense of humor and faux French accent. We started with their excellent beet salad, and enjoyed the Alaskan halibut and filet Mignon for entrees. Both steak and fish were done to perfection, and both were so shockingly fresh, it was, well, refreshing. We had no room for dessert, but sampled an excellent dessert wine, similar to ice wine. This Riesling "vin de glaciere" was the perfect sweetness for my palate, whereas ice wine is just too sweet (and too expensive). The restaurant also provides free valet service for your automobile. Even this is impressive. When we left, there was no one at the valet kiosk, but a young man quickly showed up, took our ticket, and SPRINTED to the lot where our car was parked. He brought the car around tout de suite, and we were off, very happy customers. Don't miss this place!
