Edgewood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We decided to return for a second night during our visit to Tahoe. Spectacular place to watch the sunset on the lake! Laurie and the entire wait staff were very attentive and friendly which made it a delightful evening. The food is delicious and the Port Sampler is a must. .
My family and I usually dine at Friday's Station Steak House at Harrah's. I decided last minute to dine at the Edgewood restaurant because I love the golf course there. I ordered the special which was a 12oz Ribeye. The portion was great unfortunately the quality of the steak was very tough and left me a bit disappointed. If I go back I'm definitely ordering the Elk, my son had it and it was amazing. The staff was very polite and friendly.
This is one of those very special places that makes you reevaluate the meaning of excellence, and reconsider all your previous 5 star reviews. Edgewood Restaurant, inside the stunning Edgewood Clubhouse, is an architectural marvel in wood and glass. Lake Tahoe views and sunsets are superb from every seat, and the cathedral ceilings sloping down to the huge plate glass windows with the gentle lighting down every beam are just magnificent. And then there is the food! Everything at your table is impeccable, spotless, and of the very best quality: silverware, glassware, linen, everything. From beautifully prepared cocktails, and delicious, perfectly warm ciabatta bread and marinated olives, they get you started right. Wait staff are all wonderful people, very gracious and genuine, and our waiter (on black Friday) was the delightful Guy, with his wonderful sense of humor and faux French accent. We started with their excellent beet salad, and enjoyed the Alaskan halibut and filet Mignon for entrees. Both steak and fish were done to perfection, and both were so shockingly fresh, it was, well, refreshing. We had no room for dessert, but sampled an excellent dessert wine, similar to ice wine. This Riesling "vin de glaciere" was the perfect sweetness for my palate, whereas ice wine is just too sweet (and too expensive). The restaurant also provides free valet service for your automobile. Even this is impressive. When we left, there was no one at the valet kiosk, but a young man quickly showed up, took our ticket, and SPRINTED to the lot where our car was parked. He brought the car around tout de suite, and we were off, very happy customers. Don't miss this place!
Absolutely excellent. We drive 5 hrs, and stay the night in town, it's that wonderful!! The chef added a chocolate mouse dessert to the menu! It far exceeds the chocolate dessert with caramel!! We loved the serving staff, our food, the view, and the ambience. The only negative is that the time seems to fly!! This place is awesome! We will definitely be back!!
I made reservations for thanksgiving dinner for my wife and I and we’re dissappinted. Service was really bad server never came to us kept forgetting about our table until I called him out and he just made excuses. I had to get up just to ask for water. Other tables were getting small plates brought to them that were never brought to us until I asked our server. Food was good but overall experience was ehhh. I get better service at a fast food restaurant. I paid $75 each person and was definitely not worth it. This restaurant did not deserve my money and it was all due to the poor service.
Most questions above not appropriate. I had been to Edgewood before and it was fantastic. This Thanksgiving buffet was below par. The event I attended earlier was Labor Day Buffet, 2016 and it was fantastic. This Thanksgiving buffet, $75 per person, was extensive but all side dishes were sitting in open pans and they were lukewarm at best. Turkey and beef were good, cranberry sauce good, the rest a real disappointment.
I would NOT recommend this restaurant. Although the view is pretty and the service was nice, the food was inconsistent. We had to send my husband's food back twice and by the time it came out the third time, it was time to leave. For how much you spend, this is NOT worth it. I would stick with the Chart House or Riva's. Still has the great views but better food. :(
I went to Edgewood on the recommendation of a friend and I am glad I did. I could only get a reservation at 5:00 p.m. which turned out to be perfect. When I arrived there were only 2 other tables occupied so I got a perfect table right by the window at sunset. The view was amazing!
After a cocktail, I ordered the elk steak with spatschle for my entree with a nice glass of Malbec. The steak was cooked perfectly which was nice as a lot of restaurants over cook game. The spatschle was less than spectacular and I would have preferred a different side but the steak far overshadowed its bland flavor.
For dessert, I had the lemon cake with berries and a wonderful latte. The cake was very good, moist and was complimented with cream and almond shavings.
Overall a very good meal wth incredible views and equally as impressive service. Well done!
We were visiting The Lodge At Edgewood for a few days and chose the Edgewood Restaurant at the gold course for our special occasion dinner. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a drink prior to being seated. The service and meal were all excellent. I would suggest this restaurant for any occasion and I know the sunset view would be spectacular during the summer months.
We went here to celebrate our marriage. The food was not worth what they charge. I got a filet mingon that was fairly tasteless. The noise was almost unbearable as there was a wedding reception right off of the dining area. Could barely hear each other.
The view was amazing but that was all that was amazing about this place
This was our second visit to the Edgewood. We were greeted as we entered with a “welcome back” by the manager. The hostess and one of the servers laid out a ramp for me to roll my wheelchair down to the eating level. Perfect! Our server, Laura, was very friendly and attentive. Dinner was fabulous. We both had the salmon. The star of the meal is the mixed roasted vegetable accompaniment. Soooo good. Laura brought a special birthday dessert for my husband - homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk with a candle. So cool. We topped the meal off with a shared creme brûlée. Yum to all of it! The manager stopped by our table, and each table, a couple of times during our meal, not only to ask how the meal was, but also just to chat. The service overall was the best I’ve ever experienced, especially since it seemed so natural, not over the top or pretentious.
First, the view is unsurpassed in Lake Tahoe. Our experience was special from the beginning. The host, Tommy, greeted us as if we were a regular. He also filled the role of sommelier and was quite knowledgeable and gave us some new ideas on wine choices. Our waiter, Guy, was attentive and made our experience special. The staff worked seamlessly to make the night remarkable. Then, there was the food! Pork belly appetizers, spinach salad next and our entree of sea bass and elk chops were all exceptional. We will definitely return here if we have the chance to come back to Tahoe. This is a don’t miss restaurant! We were even given a ride back to our hotel by the shuttle from the Edgewood resort.
All employees are friendly and helpful and cater to customer needs and requests. The food is creative and delicious, and the menu is frequently modified. The bar is inviting and comfortable and the offerings diverse and plentiful, including locally inspired drinks. And the view from the water's picture windows - magnificent Lake Tahoe - is spectacular. A great restaurant.
Overall was excellent - Two things disappointed me - Put in a corner table when more scenic tables available and for 20th anniversary didn't get complimentary dessert when others around us did. Other than that it was spectacular view/sunset, excellent food and nice service.
We end our Lake Tahoe stay every year with a dinner at the Edgewood, we have never been disappointed. This may be our last time to see Phil, our usual waiter since he may be retiring but the rest of the staff will surely fill his shoes. Food is always great. Only wish the menu was a bit more extensive.
What an amazing experience! The views drew us in and the dining experience surpassed expectations. We enjoyed a cheese plate appetizer while sipping bubbly and discussing wine selections with the sommelier. I tried the elk chop which was delicious and my date had the special rib eye. He loved it and the potatoes on the side were prepared using a simple to-die-for crusted salt bake. The birthday dessert of chocolate chip cookies and milk were perfect. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. We will definitely return.
