The food and view here are amazing the main host however is very rude he made it a point to avoid our table greeted every table in the restaurant multiple times and avoided us for what reason I do not know. Then when we were all done eating waiting for our ride back to the hotel the hostess came over to let us know we could wait outside if we like it was snowing like crazy outside we didn’t want to wait outside why couldn’t we just wait by the fire place like the couple before us did.?? So unfortunately we will never be returning to Edgewood again
My fav restaurant in South Lake Tahoe! Awesome view, service and food!
Spectacular views from inside the beautifully designed restaurant. We received excellent service from the moment we walked through the doors. Accommodating, friendly staff combined with exceptional food made for a wonderful dining experience. The menu offers uniquely delicious chef inspired meals perfectly matched with the ambiance and locale.
Husband was absolutely delighted with the filet mignon and the creme brûlée. Service was spot on and of course, the view was spectacular. We WILL be back!
Come for the view!!! The food was average and the choices were oddly not interestingly eclectic. Everything suffered from a lack of seasoning. The space looked tired and dirty. The service was wonderful!!
A great fine dining experience!!! I would recommend the Edgewood to anyone that is visiting South Lake Tahoe.
Amazing service and food!
The ambiance was gorgeous. The food was amazing!! The service could not be better. They made our wedding anniversary so special 1❤
Beautiful ambiance and view; we watched the sun go down from a table right next to the window. Our server was attentive when we needed her to be and not intrusive when our needs had been met. My new favorite place to dine out.
It was an absolutely amazing experience. Requested a window table for birthday dinner and the staff was amazing, the food was outstanding. One of the best restaurants I've been in West coast.
Our experience was off the charts from the Valet to the paying of the bill. The greeter Elena was so personalable l, and our waiter Court was on top of everything. The view was fantastic and food was a 10 plus.
I recommend for romantic dinners or for your companies conferences.
I will be back again.
I am a local who has enjoyed Edgewood Restaurant many times in the past. This last time I was so disappointed by their menu. They have raised their prices, and decreased the amount and quality of food on your plate. A $12 Cesar Salad consisted of, I’m not kidding, 3 small baby romaine leaves, each about 3 inches in diameter with barely a dribble of dressing and a Parmesan crisp, that looked like it came from Trader Joe’s. I think they spent more time on writing the description, a lot of fancy words like caper dust and white anchovy, than they spent making it, never saw or tasted caper dust..? The New York Steak entree for $48 had 2 slices of meat each about 1/2 inch thick 3 to 4 inches long, the fondant potatoes were 3 tiny cylinders of potatoes, each one the size of a tater tot, but just plain potatoes, the olive dust, some black powder sprinkled on the side of the plate, and a few dots of sauce, basically an empty plate for almost 50 bucks.
Edgewood prices were always on the high end but the food reflected the price, it was delicious and the plate had actual food on it, not dots of stuff and dust....? I have no problem spending lots of money for a special dinner, but Edgewood misses the mark, a high priced menu with fancy culinary descriptions but the super small portions and the lack of flavor just leave you feeling like you just got screwed!
Very disappointing experience overall.
Drinks: Ordered a glass of wine and it was bad... the bottle was opened for way too long, the wine tasted spoiled, asked to replace and it was the same second time ...
Food: Very average, just ok. Definitely not worth the price.
Service: It was out anniversary and I made a reservation in advance. They put us on the table in the last raw with the least view even the were table available next to the window. When I asked about the table next to the window, they said no ...
The only reason to come is the view, which you can get in a different place...
Appetizers and soups were good
Steaks were not cooked correctly and the vegetables did not taste fresh.
The Edgewood is a beautiful restaurant overlooking Lake Tahoe. The service is always excellent and the food is as well. My only negative comment would be that I thought the size of my main course was very small. Fortunately, I ordered the French Onion soup (which was excellent) because my main course consisted of one, very small, lamb chop served with a tiny square of sweet potato and other tiny vegetables. Without that bowl of soup, I would have walked away hungry. We usually eat at the Edgewood on every trip to Lake Tahoe, which is once a year. This is the first time I was disappointed. We'll definitely try again.
It was wonderful and beautiful at sunset
The pate' was excellent, lobster and steak were very good. Wine pairings were spot on and we had a great time. This restaurant is one of the very best in the South Lake Tahoe region.
Great ambience for a romantic dinner out or friends just catching up... The food is fantastic and the view OUTSTANDING.... A must DO when you visit Lake Tahoe even for us locals.
Great experience. A bit pricey, but well worth it for a special event.
Really loved this restaurant. Food is amazing and service was excellent. Very romantic and intimate.
Once again we had a great experience at Edgewood. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a great sunset over the lake, had excellent food, and outstanding service from Court and the remainder of the staff!
Beautiful lakeside sunset! The service was fantastic because everyone was very attentive, polite and just plain nice. I had the filet mignon and it was perfectly seasoned and tender. We came for our wedding night dinner and I can't wait to return for future anniversaries!
Celebrated my birthday here. Outstanding evening. Great food, service,atmosphere,etc......
The food was well prepared but the portions are ridiculously small. Way over priced for what you get. We left hungry after a $400 meal for (4).
Birthday/engagement dinner was amazing!
Greg was such a wonderful waiter. He made us feel like we were part of the family! My husband and I got married at Edgewood in 2013 and always come back every year to be reminded of our special day. No matter how many years go by, Edgewood always makes us feel so special! We will be coming to Edgewood every year!
From the time we pulled up, every staff member we encountered was phenomenal. The view was amazing and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend for anyone trying to have a nice night out while in Lake Tahoe.
Service was top notch, does not get better. Food and view was amazing.
Amazing view and the scallops were splendid. The grounds are fabulous.
I you're not hungry this is the place for you. great ambiance, comfortable, personable service, nice wine list, excellent food presentation and preparation, very small portions. have eaten there several times and always leave hungry.
Edgewood was exactly the kind of five star dining experience that I was looking for. I wanted to have an outstanding meal with an excellent view of the lake, and that's exactly what I got. It was the perfect place to go to propose to my girlfriend at sunset. I'm engaged now!
Portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up! It was my favorite restaurant in Tahoe, not any more. Food quality is still excellent though.
The only thing that surpassed the absolutely "awesome" view of Lake Tahoe was the food! From drinks, to appetizers, to our filets, to dessert - a perfect birthday meal. Our server, Siobhan, was very sweet. It was a perfect evening. I would consider Edgewood fine dining and perfect for your most special events.
There was a nice selection of food to choose from. Both the soup and lobster options had great flavor. The chocolate dessert was great as well. The view was exceptional, just an amazing sunset. Service was good as well.
The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and personable. I would make this restaurant a priority for anyone visiting Lake Tahoe.
The view of Lake Tahoe is stunning, however the decor looked like something from the 70s, not opulent as the online pics indicate. The food portions were TINY. I ordered the "Study of Mahoney & Irwin Lamb" because I adore lamb. $52. It had crispy belly, a grilled chop, and braised shoulder. The belly and shoulder were not much bigger than 1 inch cubes. The chop was about 6 bites of meat. It came with 2 snap peas, a 1x1x2 piece of sweet potato, 2 radish shavings, and a tiny smear of celery root puree. The belly and shoulder were very odd tasting and I couldn't eat them.
And then there was the very awkward waiter, Christopher. Everything he said was really odd and/or awkward. It made it difficult to communicate with him. We didn't know if he was just trying to be fancy and totally failing or he's just an awkward guy. But the service was very poor. He failed to get our drink order before our food came because he was busy chatting up another table about what he likes to do in Tahoe. 2 of our dishes came out super quick, then we waited awhile for the 3rd dish. The restaurant knew it was our 20th wedding anniversary, yet the only mention made of our anniversary was when our waiter gave us the dessert menu and basically said "we're celebrating a special day, would you like to order a special dessert?" No other mention of our anniversary at all. Very disappointing.
The view IS stunning, yet half the time our view was blocked by people standing outside right in front of us. We mentioned this to the waiter but he brushed it off rather than doing anything to ask the people to move literally just 2 steps over where the view was just as amazing and they wouldn't have been blocking anyone's view.
We wished we had gone to the resort's other restaurant, the Bistro (which is amazing) and just come over to enjoy the view for free.
Expensive!!! Food is mediocre for the price. Excellent service though!
Very nice staff, beautiful view and amazing food. Coming back to this place for sure.
This is a very special restaurant for a special occasion. Make reservations at sunset for a awesome view of the sunset over the lake! Dinner and service were very good. It is a bit pricy for the amount of food you get. But the ambiance makes it well worth it.
