Contemporary American
True elegance of an alpine chateau with terraced levels offering every table an amphitheater view of Lake Tahoe and the Sierras most breathtaking vistas. The contemporary menu inspired by Chef Lonny Huot marries fresh modern cuisine that embraces the season and region. Mere feet from water’s edge, the dining room’s sweeping wooden archways and vaulted ceilings sets the stage for the spectacle of the flamed sunsets as they paint the skies.

Toasted vegetable salad was more like steamed or boiled - terrible. Steak was previously cooked and cold. Sent back to be warned which made the stark over done.
Would not recommend at all.

Overall, this restaurant is outstanding. The service is what you would expect from a high quality restaurant and the food is beautifully presented. I loved my smoked quail salad. My boyfriend had the New York steak and it was a high quality piece of meat, very tender, but he thought it really lacked in flavor. Aside from that, we were very pleased with our experience. The creme brûlée was excellent.

A great location and superior food and service. Very attentive wait staff. Though arriving early they made an effort to get us seated immediately in time for a cocktail and watching the sunset over Lake Tahoe before starting our meal. Never felt rushed.

The only note I'd make on the overall value is the cost of the bottles of wine. While you expect some mark-up over what you could buy at the store. The mark-up at Edgewood seemed quite steep. But overall a great place to visit and enjoy the ambiance.

Professional and engaging service in a great ambience and an unbeatable view on the beach of South Lake Tahoe. Those items alone coupled with a very fair priced wine list are enough for a very enjoyable evening. The menu provided many gems to chose from and all of the ones we tried were excellent. We’ll be back the next time we are in South Lake Tahoe.

Wasn’t pleased with having to wait almost 20 minutes before our cocktails arrived after ordering them. Would highly suggest with such a nice restaurant they have another bartender or one than can serve more than a couple people at a time. Perhaps take a peek at Riva Grill...!

What a great experience. Ambiance, Service, Food, Wine....all were outstanding.

Would be good if there was a minimum dress code.....given the price point, I would think baseball caps would be prohibited.

This was our third visit and very disappointing compared to the past. The venue is still spectacular, but the food was not up to past experience, especially for the prices.

Our waiter, Guy, kept up a steady banter of intrusive jokes and comments

Not sure I would be back for dinner

Setting and view are spectacular, worth the price of admission alone. Service very good. Food mixed. My wife and I like to split appetizers until we are full. Mushroom soup good, not great, slightly bland. Foie Gras huge disappointment. Each component was good, but horrible recipe/combination. Pumpkin bread was good, but totally overwhelmed the foie gras. Pear brandy was okay, but in conflict with rest of plate. Actual foie Gras by itself was okay, but very small portion. Veal cheeks were an A+. Veal, mushrooms, pasta were all excellent. Sauce / Jus was spectacular.

I ordered the lobster risotto. Unfortunately it lacked the flavor of lobster. Ordered the seared scallops, presentation was great but flavor was just so-so. Ordered the Caesar salad, lettuce was pristine but almost no dressing. Asked for extra dressing & that saved the day.

Edgewood Restaurant is one of our special occasion dinner destinations, and the atmosphere, service, and quality continue to live up to our expectations. Cocktail prices have gotten a bit steep ($16 for a martini) so we're likely to skip stopping at the bar before dinner. Good wine selection for most any budget. They've changed their model for wine though. They used to pour 1/3 of a bottle as a glass and charge 1/3 of their bottle price. Now they pour a standard 5oz glass at a price that covers the bottle in about 4 glasses (sometimes fewer). So you're forced to predict if between your party you'll have more than 3 glasses when you first sit down and go with a bottle, but then you aren't able to pair wines with courses or allow different people to go with different selections. We liked the old model much better, everyone could have what they want without doing a bunch of math.

This place is worth it for the views before 6 pm, other than that it’s expensive for small/noting special portions. Maybe we went on an off night, but our whole table’s orders were messed up and we waited 1.5+ hrs for the meal. Real disappointment for a $500+ meal for a group of 5.

The place is gorgeous, we stayed on the property at The Lodge. The Edgewood Restaurant is like we said is gorgeous and service was attentive, but at the end he didn't ask us how our meal was . My husband ordered the lamb and I order the Alaskan King Crab Legs with a french onion soup to start. My husband was not impressed with his lamb dish. Seem pre -prepped and re-fired. We enjoyed the crab legs, but the french onion soup was way to sweet and the onions weren't cooked down enough. Oh, we did also have the creme brulee which was yummy.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Tahoe. Last time we were here we noticed the menu had changed but we still enjoyed our dining. I don’t think we will be coming back as the prices have gone up and the portions according to the waiter have gone down. The lamb was very good and tender but the sides looked very unappealing, everything was dark, almost black. We also ordered the duck duo with crispy breast, there was no crispy at all. I feel they have really tried to “foodie” up the menu which doesn’t appeal to us.
We used to be impressed by the reasonably priced wine list, the previous manager, I think took great pride in the selections and value. The Pinot Noir we used to order has gone from $70 to $89 per bottle. The stemware they use needs to be a better quality and more varietal specific for the prices they are charging.
Our server, while nice was not overly helpful and we did feel rushed. If I am spending $200 on the evening, I want the server to understand that when we say we want to wait to order until we have had our cocktails, that means don’t keep coming back to the table and asking if we are ready.
Next trip we will try the Bistro, the selections seem to be more what used to be at the Edgewood restaurant.
On a side note, Elena the hostess is a gem. She is always so friendly.

Small children in the restaurant were being disruptive and watching movies on an iPad without headphones. This was pretty disturbing to the overall ambience and reason for the lower score.

Edgewood is a beautiful restaurant with a great view of Lake Tahoe. We were looking forward to having dinner there while we were on our ski vacation in February. We were sat at a table by the window and could see the lake a bit before the sun was totally gone. Unfortunately, the rest of the evening was not as nice as the view. We ordered the sea bass which the waiter recommended highly. My friend and I both agreed that it was very fishy tasting and not good at all. We were very disappointed and probably would not recommend this restaurant to friends visiting the lake in the future. The service was very spotty as well. We had to ask for water etc.

Edgewood is my go to place when in Lake Tahoe. The food, service, atmosphere is always excellent. My brother and I went skying at Heavenly. Then dinner at Edgewood, My brother had the elk and I had the lamb. We each had a couple of beers with dinner. Total bill $120.00 That is a great value. Edgewood is a country club atmosphere with a sense of mountain elegance. Thank you Edgewood staff, you always make my visit an excellent experience. I look forward to staying in your new hotel in the near future, if it is run like your restaurant/bar, my stay will be like a little slice of Heaven.
