It was a birthday celebration, my partner had given His credit card to the host and asked to make sure the check never hits the table, if he hadn’t made the effort to make sure that they had his card I would understand. But at the end of the night the server drops the check to the table... which then my partner Had to remind the server there was a card with the host... which caused such a awkward and uncomfortable vibe at our table... what was supposed to be a treat and a surprise just became a awkward situation.
Beautiful indoor décor and large windows to view Lake Tahoe with outdoor fireplaces in view on their patio. Flames flickering while you look out over the lake. Comfortable seating. Mushroom and French onion soups were delicious. Entrees of lamb and elk were incredible...flavor and presentation were the best we have ever had with these meats. We live near D.C. and eat in great restaurants on a regular basis - Edgewood rivals the best.
Wine list is pretty comprehensive.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food, great service, great location, and great night out.
Food is not good enough
Have been to Edgewood a number of times now. It continues to be one of our favorite places to go for special occasions. We braved some pretty harsh weather (snow storm) that evening to make it to the restaurant, but is was very much worth the effort. Once we arrived, we were greeted with free valet service and a warm welcome from the host, who also took a group photo of our family for us by the big fireplace. Service was excellent and our waiter was friendly and upbeat, while not being too chatty. Overall, a great, memorable holiday meal with our family!
Amazing service and great food. Everything was impeccable and I highly recommend going there if you want to have a great time.
The food was good, but did not match the expectation of a true fine dining experience. Atmosphere/ambiance was certainly the best we experienced in the south lake area, but just fell a little short of the total package needed to be billed as an exceptional/luxury event. I actually thought the food at the bistro was a little better.
It is inside of high end resort but located in a club house. Great hidden place!
always great food and ambiance
service painfully slow
We enjoyed a romantic night out to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Service, food and ambiance were perfect. Since the Edgewood resort opened we notice more families with small children dining here, and it was more noisy as a result.
We attended for Husband’s birthday- hostess greeted him with Happy Birthday upon arrival. We were quickly taken to our table and attended to by our waiter. We had the cheese plate appetizer, a little over priced in my opinion for the amount- but still good. Our wine was brought to the table quickly and we enjoyed our bread before our entrees arrived. I had the elk chop (medium rare) and it was just right - not at all gamy and both the elk and steak were generously sized portions. My Husband finished the night with an Irish coffee and a complimentary birthday dessert. Highly recommend for a special occasion night out.
Location right on the lake. Every view beautiful. Great New York Steak. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Not for every day dining but will definitely go again next time I’m in Tahoe.
This place could be so much better based on the location and ambience but the food and service are very subpar. Shame
Cheese plate appetizer very good. Ceasar salad excellent. Duck fantastic. Sirloin special full of fat and gristle. Took some leftovers home and cut up the beef. Only 30% edible. Confirmed findings from eating at the resturant. The beef was very disappointing. Guy was excellent, conversant and knowledgeable about menu. All in all, enjoyed the evening.
Very personable and attentive staff. Food was cooked well and tasty. Going during the day would provide a much better view of the lake, not really visible at night.
Possibly the best restaurant in the Tahoe area!!
We were visiting and this place came up with a great view although we could not get in till after dark. But still a wonderful place, great food and great staff!
Good experience. Would love to come back in summer to see sunset
We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Edgewood in Dec 2018. We ordered the elk, french onion soup, and sea bass. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and it was the perfect environment for a special celebration. Service was amazing and they gave us a dessert for our anniversary. Perfect evening. I would definitely go back.
Restaurant located at great location with view of Lake Tahoe.
Tried elk meat, - very tasty lean meat!!!
Great, funny server - Guy - and really great food, taste, presentation. All great. Thanks
Special meal for us as Empty Nesters... have been dining here for 12 years as a family of 4 and by far this was the WORST meal we have experienced here !!!! The changed menu SUCKS !!! No substance ... it’s appears that the actual visual appearance of the meal is more important than the taste.... the New York Steak meal was DRY, the Lamb Loin tasted like a bad steak, absolutely no flavor ! Time for someone to tell Management that change isn’t always good because of the new Edgewood Hotel .... without a doubt Elena and the barman ( both of whom instantly recognized us ) saved the day and their commitment to service is as always impeccable!!! Not at all impressed with our server.... what a shame GUY was not working that evening !!
Food was good as expected for a restaurant like this but I do think it was a bit overpriced for the quality of service. I had also detailed it was for a special occasion, my fiancé’s birthday and there was no mention/ acknowledgement of it. Made it feel like a assembly line and put a damper at the end of the night making it feel less special. Waitress was not engaging, seemed tired and bored. I only imagine what thebhsy season is like.
management and chef took great care of us. we sincerely appreciate the restaurant staff
Great views and great food.
Beautiful restaurant in Tahoe. Everyone was super nice and the service was great. The food quality needs some work. The menu is limited. The seasonal salad was a real miss. The entrees were only okay. The manager was really nice. The ambiance is amazing.
I stayed at the lodge with my wife for our honeymoon. While the Bistro, in the main lodge, was almost as good as this restaurant, it couldn't quite meet the bar. This restaurant was amazing in everything that it offered. Fantastic food, great wait service, and the view was irreplaceable!
One thing, of note, is that this isn't a cheap place to eat. The bill was double what it was in the main lodge's Bistro area. That said, I didn't think it was bad considering the level of service, and quality of food and drink, that we received. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and frankly the whole lodge in general!
Went for anniversary dinner. Table by the window with beautiful view. Service top notch and friendly. Food excellently prepared, very tasty and high quality.
Amazing service, food, and overall decorations.
When I reserved thru Open Table a week in advance the time slots were 5:30 or 7:45. I chose 7:45. When we arrived about 7:30 only one table was occupied. In other words the restaurant was empty. Can not understand how the reservation system operates as we would have much prefered 6:30 or 7:09.
We obviously got a great table and an engaging waiter providing wonderful service. The hostess was also great as is the ambience - a magnificent setting for a special occasion.
However it’s a pricy experience as main courses while delicious offer little value and the portions are less than generous.
We enjoyed the evening but given restricted time slots for reservations and over pricing we will not rush back.
We weren't impressed with our waiter, he wasn't very personable. Also, we were disappointed when ordering. We asked for a glass of Raumbauer and a glass of another wine, then decided we wanted to purchase the entire bottle of Raumbauer (there were very few tables in the restaurant (3 maybe) and we were confident no one else had a glass from the Raumbauer bottle that was opened in front of us; we hadn't even started sipping our first glass) and were told that we had to buy the glass of Rambauer plus a new bottle. Goes to show you, how important the wait staff is...
Edgewood is alway great. We will be back after the holidays.
Excellent in every way! The hostess was lovely, our waiter, Ellie, was knowledgeable, professional and delightful. We were a party of 4 adults and one infant and everyone made everything smooth sailing! French Onion soup was excellent and the two men loved the elk....delicious! We will be back each time we visit Tahoe! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Went for the Thanksgiving buffet - pricey, but worth it! The unlimited shrimp and crab claws were a particularly nice touch. Service and ambiance were fantastic.
Buffet food was picked over. Someone should have been present to watch over it.
Took more than 10 minutes to take drink order after we arrived.
The food, however was delicious.
Seating was very odd. Our party of two was place at a round table of 6 (or 8).
I won't return.
Thanksgiving buffet. We had a lovely time and they were easily able to accommodate our sons food allergies. Everyone left with full tummies!
I was disappointed. This may seem trite, however, when I ordered a Manhattan at the bar, I was looking for my glass to come with a "full pour" and with the yummy cherries, not the cheep maraschino. The meal portions are very small even for me and I'm a small person. The waitstaff were lovely.
The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and personable with attention to detail. However I can't say the same for the food. The lobster risotto left a lot to be desired. The biggest complaint was the fact that the lobster was frozen not fresh, over cooked and chewy with bland flavor. The soups were both good though and the NY strip was cooked nicely. Overall it was a good experience, but when you pay 39 dollars for lobster risotto you expect the lo ster to be fresh.
Wonderful in every way, as usual! Many kudos to Chef Chris and his kitchen staff, Elie, Jody and Erica...thank you for making our evening and delicious meal so special!
Edgewood is a superb dining experience: great menu and wine list, very talented chef, extraordinary service staff, warm and beautiful ambiance, breathtaking views, and incredibly delicious food. We've dined there 4 times (dinner) and thoroughly enjoyed it on each occasion. It's rare to find a fine dining establish that offers the complete package and never disappoints!
