Outstanding food! All of it was fresh and delicious. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
Delicious food, great service! The sand dabs with mashed potatoes and veggies were perfect, as was the beet salad!
Service was also outstanding.
Excellent farm fresh food. Good selection of seafood. Many specials on menu, always a good sign. Very nice outside patio. Very good service.
It was prime rib night we ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out raw . They took it back and brought out grilled rib steaks
Service was slow but apparently more people showed up and they were expecting although we had reservations.
I had the Pork Chops and they were delicious. Best I've ever had. The yams that came with them were dynamite! I very much enjoyed my dinner. Getting my mom, who uses a walker, into the dining room wasn't the easiest - kind of a long walk for her, but we made it.
Food was very good. Service was excellent. One of our favorite spots in the valley.
HAD RESERVATIONS FOR 6 PM. NO OTHER PART OUTSIDE.
REAL SLOW SERVICE OUTSIDE.
Thursday is prime rib special night and is excellent and fairly priced.
Good good good
Thursday are great the Prime Rib is well worth it!
Great food, service and location! Perfect place for lunch or Happy Hour.
Great food!!! Wonderful beverages and wine list. Friendly service..
My wife and I had a great meal, Prime rib and salmon, after a wonderful day of golf! Nice and relaxing. We never felt rushed.
Great outdoor eating. Excellent service! Food was fresh, well prepared and seasoned perfectly! Loved starting with a cup of clam chowder!! Great experience. Even though we don’t play golf it was fun to watch the golfers practice and putt!
Made reservation for New Year's eve 6 days beforehand.
Even so, we were assigned a bad table: tiny, against a wall,
with a tall plant right behind my companion, and leaves
brushing his head, and a tv set directly above us.
We asked for another table. Though several were empty,
it took about 15 mins. before one was ready for us.
The new table was between two noisy large groups,
and every wall around us held a large tv screen,
most of which were tuned to sporting events.
I'd hoped for a quiet, intimate evening.
Obviously, this one would not be that.
The oysters were tiny, but tender.
The beef Wellington was large, juicy,
tender, and tasty, but the puff pastry
crust was limp and soggy.
I recommend with reservations. It was 5:30 on New Year's Eve. Some specials for the occasion. Lobster which was good but too many mashed potatoes and very little lobster. Beef Wellington was ok, not great. Market salad was delicious and recommended by the wait staff. Some of the wait staff had not changed their uniforms from lunch and some of the lunch customers were still there. Tables were decorated for New Years and restaurant advertised for dinner from 5-9:00. At least on New Years, get rid of the lunch crowd before 5:00, or don't advertise for New Year's dinner.
The appetizers were not that great. Not fully cooked and a bit cold. Drinks were excellent and the main course was very good. Service was a bit slow but they were busy and I’m sure that’s not the usual. Overall prices are a bit high but that seems to be the norm in this area (we’re locals).
Friendly vibe, noisy, average food. Fried calamari intensely over fried, tough and dried out.
My wife and I were guests at the Lodge for two nights and had dinner both evenings at Edgar's. We celebrated our 50th anniversary and not disappointed with the service or service. The Sand Dabs and the braised Lamb Shank were the highlights. The exceptional wine list had local wines of Monterey County, California and Europe at attractive prices. The semi-casual setting is appropriate for the Carmel Valley. Try it.......you'll love it!
Always good food. Locally sourced
Cozy atmosphere with fireplace
Some high top tables close to the bar
Friendly service Easy parking
Outdoor patio a nice option
An outstanding Thanksgiving meal. The prime rib was outstanding, the Turkey and had were very tasty. Great selection of fixings and sides. We had a great time
My husband and I ordered the pork chops with maple sweet potatoes , apples, vegetables. The pork chops were tender and perfectly seasoned. Well balanced savory and sweet elements to the meal. We shared a Caesar salad as an opener and it still was a large serving. We paired the meal with a Cabernet- went well. Since we were celebrating a special occasion we topped it off with a lovely creme brulee. Yummy meal, nice ambiance near the fireplace. A 10 for sure!
Great local spot with a great chef and fair prices we are regulars here, love Thursday prime rib night, and the wine dinners at the Covey.
Typical club food. Nothing special and nothing bad.
We had 2 servers-Lis or Emerson-exellent. They handles a big 11 person table with great aplomb.Lis handled a quiet ,intimate dinner for my wife and I. very attentive.
Our dinner was a wonderful surprise. Friendly and excellent service. The Thursday prime rib special surpassed our expectations. Very generous portions at a reasonable price. We will return and try other menu options.
A rare find in the Carmel area, good food at a fair price. Room could use an update, but the service is always great. Great outdoor patio for the pups in your life.
WE HAVE BEEN DINING AT EDGARS FOR YEARS AND HAVE USUALLY BEEN HAPPY. WE WENT FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY 10/14 AND HAD A TERRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE. THE BAR WAS PACKED AND VERY NOISY. DUE TO THE PEOPLE IN THE BAR THE SERVICE WAS VERY SLOW. THEY WERE SERVING AN OKTOBERFEST MENU AND OUR DINNER WAS OVERCOOKED AND TASTELESS. WE COMPLAINED AND THEY DID NOT CHARGE US FOR ONE MEAL. WE MIGHT TRY THEM AGAIN WHEN THEY ARE SERVING THEIR REGULAR MENU.
Poor pork tenderloin. Eager but untrained wait sttaff
We have been eating at Edgars for a number of years and appreciate the consistency of the food and the friendly service. The outside patio overlooks the golf driving range and is dog friendly. The dining room itself is very casual since it is part of the golf club house. The clam chowder is the best on the peninsula!
Had the sand dabs, excellent sauce and perfectly cooked. You don't have to have a water view to have good seafood!
Atmosphere and staff are very pleasant. Service good and not intrusive.
Emerson was a great server, the food was excellent and enjoyable sitting outside on a nice evening
Sand Dabs are outstanding and the bar is a very interesting place to sit
Very disappointed in the service. Our drinks ordered when we first arrived did not come until we asked again and after the starter. Another in our group ordered a glass of wine with her entrée and it came after asking again and after she finished her entrée. One ordered a Caesar salad with salmon and was charged $38.00, $12.00 for the salad and $20.00 for the salmon - should of mentioned the salmon would cost an additional $20.00 as the guest thought it came with the salad already. Plus we were charged $2.00 additional for avocado that was not on the salad. And the salmon entrée was $28.00. Go figure?
Nice menu. Maybe it was my taste buds but my Reuben sandwich tasted bland, wanted to add salt. My guests were happy and felt their salads were tasty. The setting was lovely, overlooking the driving range - we sat out in the patio because it was a beautiful day. As cute as our wait person was, I felt it must have been her first day. We were seating - no one bothered to ask us if we wanted something to drink. Had to get the attention of a wait person working with another table.. (Another table was seated 5 minutes after us and promptly got their drinks.) Had to ask for sugar for the ice tea - none on the table. When it was time to place our food order, one party ordered a Cobb salad - the waitress asked if he wanted French fries or salad with his Cobb salad - ?? It must have been her first day.
Just a terrific restaurant. Quiet. Good food with a lot of vegetarian options - which is great for my family - but also a lot of seafood and meat as well
Locally sourced flavorful vegetables
One of our favorites
My new favorite place for after-work drinks and dinner.
Delicious salads and Sand Dabs. Nice presentation of entree.
Love prime rib night at Edgar's. Two sizes of prime rib to choose from, delicious veggies, and potatoes. Very personable wait staff. Nice to sit outside on a warm evening, and it's dog friendly.
The new chef has brought fresh ideas. Try the Farm Market salad. Excellent
