Edgar's Grille - Augusta Ratings and Reviews
After hearing all of our friends rave about Edgars, it did not disappoint! I had the deviled egg pimento cheese appetizer - even my 6 year old enjoyed it. For my entrée I had the filet with Brussel sprouts and cauliflower - over the top amazing and healthy! My husband enjoyed his meal as well.
Excellent food with great ambience. The menu has great variety choices to select from. The service is also great! The waitress/waiters are very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They make me feel special. My chicken breast stuffed with spinach was delicious. I enjoy treating my friends out at edgard's for special occasions such as birthdays or friends' day out. Any special occasion is a great reason to dine at Edgar's.
Food average at best...lobster tail deep fried raw in the middle. Pamphlet table side promoting their culinary school made derogatory comment about new owners of North Augusta country club without knowing any of the facts of it's closure...totally inappropriate !! There are too many other good choices for a great meal...will not be going back !!
First time trying Edgar's, 3 of us went for dinner on Saturday evening before Christmas. The first thing that impressed me was the interior, elegant and quiet. Our waiter came right to the table and explained the menu and took our drink orders. The menu offered interesting items that I had not seen before so we all tried something different and were not disappointed. The entrees we wonderful, I just love having good food at an upscale feeling restaurant since I virtually never go out to eat. Edgars was a real treat. It is so hard to find good restaurants these days. Everything seems to be going to fast food. Edgars was very calm and paced, the waiter brought us new drinks at just the right times. We never had to say "watch for our waiter, I need something." I highly recommend Edgars it is an overall wonderful restaurant you'll add to your favorites list.
Great service. The server was attentive and helpful. Other staff in restaurant also made sure we were taken care of as well. Augusta spring rolls and shrimp appetizer were delicious but the chicken porcini pasta I had could have used a little more flavor. I would visit again.
Service was very friendly and accommodating but not polished. The wine pour, from a bottle ordered, was too big and did not allow room for the wine to open. The restaurant is very nice but missing ambient music to energize a somber, somewhat dull, atmosphere. The filet was excellent and cooked perfectly. One of the best filets in Augusta - highly recommend. The scallops entree had great flavor and would have been excellent if they were not slightly over cooked. The scallops were not rinsed thoroughly and a few grains of sand were still present. The meat and cheese plate first course was sparse and unbalanced but had the most wonderful blue cheese I’ve ever eaten. There was only one meat, prosciutto, and many great cheeses with a side of pepper jelly. Grain mustard and a second meat would be a nice addition. Overall a very nice meal, friendly and helpful service, and a good value. I will go back and recommend to friends.
Sunday brunch buffet...waffle station, buffet with staples ((sausage, biscuits, bacon, etc.), and order from the kitchen omelets... you had to pass your hand over the plates to find the warmest waffle (they were not made to order), the buffet food was served in warming trays, but no heat was being used and the food was lukewarm at best, lastly the omelets took 30 minutes plus. We'd eaten all the lukewarm buffet food before my husband's omelet was delivered 30 minutes later. My omelet had apparently been delivered to someone else, so the "it's already being replaced" promise took another 20 minutes. WHEN delivered, the omelets were hot. The "fresh" coffee was lukewarm. This attractive restaurant was at most 60% full - far less than should have taxed the 3 cooks I saw in the kitchen. We were extremely disappointed.
If you want a quiet place to eat close to the holidays, this is not the place to go. Loud obnoxious people having their company Christmas parties decide to pick a restaurant that is normally quiet. Could not hold a conversation with my family due to the loud outburst, screaming laughs and cursing out loud party seated next to our table. Obviously these people were not taught common courtesy and respect of other patrons at the restaurant. They should have had their party somewhere that provides a private dining room or maybe a bowling alley. Not the perfect environment for my husband's 50th birthday dinner.
Had a wonderful time gathering for dinner after a training meeting with staff. They had a nice outside seating area that was more private but inside was live music, acoustic guitar with vocals. We really enjoyed the experience and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
My friends and I had been wanting to go to Edgars for awhile and finally made it!! Love everything about the place! You could actually hear yourself think and have conversation over drinks. The Happy hour choices were excellent. The ambiance was warm and cozy. Our waitress , Aleeah, fantastic ,personable, knowledgeable and made our time there enjoyable. The entrees for the all of us were superb and nothing was sent back (first time ever). We will definitely come back again.
The first time I went with my husband for dinner and everything was great.
The second time we went with another couple for the black friday brunch we were very dissapointed, the food was ok, but missing variety, I was hoping to see waffles, pancakes, crepes, hot chocolate, maybe some sushi, or some creation of your own that can become the signature for your brunches.
