Mathew was excellent as our server. Good wines available by the glass. Food overall was excellent.

Only criticisms as that the Augusta Spring rolls had cheese in them, and way too much. Not what I expected. More of a Chimechanga than a spring roll.

My wife and I have visited Edgar's Grille many time over the years and always seemed to walk away with a sense of enjoyment from the experience. Unfortunately, this time was different and almost ruined our night, as well as stopped us from making any future visits to the establishment.

Check-in was great and we were seated promptly but once at our table, things began to go sour. A couple that walked in after us (but was seated at the table next to us) was attended to immediately while my wife and I had to wait 7 minutes. It was almost as if we were invisible. Finally, a server named Matthew walked out and saw our looks of irritation and asked if we had been served. I replied no and he assumed responsibility of our table.

While Matthew was serving us, we wanted to remain irritated and bitter from our initial experience but his pleasant attitude would not let up. His helpfulness, smile, and knowledge of the dishes won through and in the end, we had a great experience. It was funny that the table next to us was paying more attention to our server than their own. Their interest was evident as they watched him describe each dish in detail and what wines would complimented them and such... If not for Matthew, this definitely would have been our last visit to Edgar's. He is an outstanding person and really made a horrible night special again. Thanks Matthew!!!

The atmosphere was very good. The employees moved about always being busy and attentive to their customers. Food was magnificent! This is one of many times we have been there for dinner as well as lunch.

Valentine's Day Fixed Menu was great. The appetizers
and the entre very good. The dessert was a chocolate
cake and was mediocre - and NO choice on dessert.
Coffee was an additional charge to the dinner $75 which
should have been included in the $75 price.

Next year offer TWO desserts and offer coffee/tea FREE.

Everything tasted fantastic and the service was great. My only complaint was the oyster appetizers were very very small.

The special menu for Valentines was perfect. I had the duck and my wife had the grouper. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I chose to add the wine pairings option and the wines paired with the foods very well.

We had a great time enjoying the food. The bar looked like we were in a swanky hotel. They were generous with the drinks. The server was enthusiastic and open.

We were late for our reservation as we ran into traffic and it was raining while driving in from Atlanta. The hostess was a little on the dry side. Not rude, but definitely not friendly. I always request a booth when dining out but apparently not this time and there was no effort to accommodate this when asked. It seemed as if they only had 3 booths. The tables we sat at were uncomfortably close. You can literally hear EVERY word the guests at the table over was saying...even if they were whispering! The server we had was new and had someone with her but she just wasn’t on the ball with things. You would see the one training her always busy and doing something, while she was just standing around instead of taking any initiative. I saw our appetizer in the window ready. She was standing around oblivious. It took her preceptor to come and get it and bring it to us.

The salmon that both my husband and I had was good. He didn’t like the side that was supposed to be like Mac n cheese. He loved his snap peas. I enjoyed my Brussels sprouts. The potatoes I had were just ok. No dessert as we had an event to get to. We had sangrias that weren’t anything worth mentioning. The ambiance is nice and would have been better in a booth. If we’re ever back In Augusta we may stop back. Maybe.
