We travel through Augusta twice a year en route to North Carolina and always dine at Edgar’s. A truly winning combination of good food and good works.
Dinner last night was outstanding. I had the scallops and my husband enjoyed the prime tip bolognese. We finished with white chocolate cheesecake. Patrick, our server provided great service and was very knowledgeable about the menu.
Highly recommend Edgar’s.
This is basically a classroom for the Helms College students who are studying to work In the restaurant, whether it's as a chef, cook, hostess or wait staff so everything will not always be perfect. However, it was very close. Food was excellent and presentation was very good. We will return
Always happy with the service and food. Tried the brunch buffet this past Sunday and enjoyed it very much. Recommend the food anytime
Had brunch with my mom and son here. It was a very good atmosphere. We did the buffet brunch which was a fair price with several options. I’m not a fan of southern food so I did not enjoy the food as much as my mother did. Overall quite a lovely restaurant, great staff and good food. I will go back for regular dining to comment on the food but I expect it to be great.
Delicious as ever, Edgars Grille has one of the most outstanding dinner menus in the area. Truly a hidden gem. Highly recommend.
The mushroom bruschetta was DELICIOUS! I think we got full off of that and couldn’t finish our meals. The salmon was very satisfying and the glaze left me wanting more! The mushroom risotto was also VERY tasty, and I highly recommend trying it as a side. My husband had the lamb chops that were good after having to be cooked a little longer. Great ambiance and not too stuffy. I took advantage of their drink special that night and enjoyed my Moulin Rouge martini. Great food experience from beginning to end. If they had dessert it wasn’t mentioned, but we didn’t have room for it anyway.
We asked for a booth but did not get one. Don't know why not because they were not busy.
Had three large tables empty the whole time we were there.
Would still recommend the Sunday brunch.
This is a fine place to eat. It’s purpose makes me keep wanting to to back. Great food, service, bill, everything.
I had no idea that Edgar's was a partnership with a local University and Goodwill. I was incredibly impeessed. The kids menu was somewhat limited but the full menu has great options. We has the fried green tomatoes and the pecan encrusted shrimp. Both were excellent. They brought the kids food out first, which was great. Everyone commented that the food was excellent. I has the Colorado Lamb Chops and they were outstanding.
The restaurant and bar we're extremely well designed. As I looked around the room, I kept thinking about Goodwill and how upscale this place is inside. They did a great job with the design, menu and format. Overall, an excellent value
Mediocre. Didnt live up to the hype. Maybe I was just expecting to much. It was average
Came in for Mother’s Day the bottleless Mamosa’s were great and the buffet was amazing and really tasty. I can’t wait to come back.
The food was amazing and our service from Nick was wonderful
Edgar’s is always great. Unfortunately, this time, it was only good at best. The food was picked over, and luke warm. The waffles were actually cold and chewy. Fortunately our server was awesome, and responded with great care, and got me a fresh waffle immediately. Speaking of our awesome server, he was fantastic. He kept our glasses full, and was professional and polite. There were shortfalls in the meal, but not in the service at all.
We will return. This was an anomaly, and I will pass judgement after another meal.
When we were seated we had to wait a bit for our server to appear. Our server explained how the buffet works and she told us the price was $30! Per person. When I called to make the reservation for mother's day brunch I was told the price was $19. I asked why I would be told that it was $11 less on the phone. I got a flustered answer and basically nothing was done. Our server was hard to find most of our time there. I'm not usually picky about service but I was not impressed for the price. Also the food wasn't replenished as often as needed. It costs us $150 for 3 people. I think for the quality of food and service its definitely not worth it. Save your money or go elsewhere.
Amazing food! Must go there again. The wild mushroom bruschetta was delicious ( almost order another one). My husband had the 14oz porkchop and it was super tender and great flavor. The drinks were weak so I would stick with a glass of wine next time, but that will not stop me from going there again. Delicious!
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with great food and even better service.
Wow. I had been wanting to try Edgar's for a while. What a hidden gem. I highly recommend a visit. I had the filet mignon and it melted in my mouth. The brussel sprouts, awesome!
Great food, good variety in the menu. Fabulous service. Great for every day dinning or any occasion. I will be back, a lot!
Best brunch I have ever been to. We drive over from Atlanta to enjoy what we heard was a great brunch and they were not kidding!
My family and I come to Sunday brunch here when I come into town and it is always great after church to sit down with great food in a nice environment. Thanks Guys!
Excellent food exceptional service. Nice and quiet.
Service is always top notch. Excellent food and drink. A beautiful gem of a restaurant. I would challenge anyone to find a better place even in a large city. Continually impressed.
Great service, nice atmosphere good food.
Timing of food delivery was awkward. Some got all meal items st once others were staggered.
It was the best food i’ve ever had and i will definitely be going back!
We don't go out for dinner much anymore but when we do we want a good experience. Edgar's never let's us down. The service was spot on, the food was perfect and the evening was just what we wanted.
Enjoyed sitting outside in courtyard. Good food, good service and enjoyed Happy Hour drinks.
Food was very good, but server was not very attentive or responsive.
We were really disappointed. Had heard some good things about this restaurant and were really expecting to see some great food. My Mom (who is 83) was particularly excited as she is a real foodie and a good eater (family joke about her eating for two when we take her out!) She didn't even finish her plate. When we left, she said for $30 per person, we would have been better off going to Golden Corral.
Seats were hard wood and for a buffet, pretty poor. The waffle-French toast station had cold items; some of the food had obviously been out for a while (crusted on top). Just not what we were expecting.
We won't be back.
The service at Edgar's was excellent. Our server was prompt, pleasant, and made sure that we were completely satisfied. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. The waffles were on the cooler side but our server made sure that we got a fresh one if we wanted it. The carved ham was excellent and the shrimp dish was very good. I am not much into desserts but the cheese cake was excellent. The price keeps us from going more frequently, but for an occasional treat we can manage it and since this was Easter we decided to pay the price.
I have eaten at Edgars numerous times in the past and gave them rave reviews both for lunch as well as Sunday Brunch. Sadly, this time (Easter Sunday Brunch) was lacking in many ways.
There was a good variety of food but the temp. on some items was luke warm leaving it not pleasant to eat.
Biggest problem was the noise level and spacing of tables. We were crowded between 2 other tables making it seem like we were at a community table. This was partly my fault since I did not ask for seating elsewhere.
Noise level was horrendous making it almost impossible to have a conversation without shouting
The final straw was the issue of take out. I understand that you normally do not allow takeout at a buffet but this was unusual circumstance. My companion was not feeling well so declined to eat anything. She only had coffee and water which should have been obvious to the waitress who stopped by frequently and would have observed an empty and clean plate and utensils.
I had maybe 4 ounces of ham on a small plate that I trequested to have packaged to take home and was told no. Come on- $30 spent to sit and not eat. The ham shouild have been packaged and would have been at a dining establishment tuned in to excellence in customer service.
Edgars is a great concept which was one of my favorites before this unfortunate experience on what shoulod have been a special day
Overall, it was very good. The food was perfect, and I received it very quickly. The service from the students was very well done. I never had to ask for anything; it was already there. The server boxed up my date’s meal to go as well which only made the service better. I’m not sure anyone will find a better place to dine on any occasion.
This was our first time at Edgar's and we were very pleasantly surprised. The food and service were exemplary. The scallops were particularly delicious, and our server handled our table of six very skillfully. The fact that the restaurant is part of the school's training program was an added bonus.
My husband and I frequently eat at Edgar’s and we haven’t been disappointed yet. The food is always excellent and so is the service. The bar tender Drew is excellent!
Table ready at reserves time. Wait staff was terrific. Drinks were very good. Loved our appetizers so much we ordered rounds of small plates for thanks to share.
Great good! Never disappointed! Amazing, attentive staff as well.
Fantastic all around.
They charged us to divide a meal and never even gave us an extra plate until we asked
